Very friendly staff, inexpensive rooms, perfect location, spotless, and a good breakfast. What more do you need?
The only minor gripe I had was the curtain didn't do a very good job of blocking the light from the spotlight outside.
Everything but lack of room space. Not a loudly resort but perfectly comfortable for skiers.
Michael and Shannon run a charming, friendly inn at very affordable rates. We loved the homemade breakfast muffins and scones as well as the rest of the breakfast we ate before skiing each day.
The kids loved the pool and the free breakfast was great! The staff was friendly and helpful.
Friendly and helpful owners, cozy rooms, freshly baked cookies and hot sider every afternoon, great hot breakfast (included), swimming pool, sauna, hot tub, 5 min drive to Stowe ski resort.
Friendly stuff, nice pool, sauna.
The owners are very kind, always trying their best to help in any possible way. The breakfast was excellent, good quality and very varied. The hotel is located less than 5 min by car to the slopes. The swimming pool-jacuzzi-sauna were the best way to finish an intense skiing day! *Los dueños son encantadores, siempre dispuestos a ayudar. El desayuno excelente, variado y de buena calidad. El hotel está situado a menos de 5 min de las pistas. La piscina-sauna-jacuzzi son perfectos para terminar un duro día de ski.
A minimal detail: the A.C. is very loud... but nothing that some earplugs can´t solve. On the other hand, it kept the room perfectly warm in one of the coldest weeks of February. *Un detalle mínimo: el aire acondicionado es ruidoso...pero nada q no se arregle con unos tapones para los oídos. Hay que decir que funcionó perfectamente y mantuvo la habitación caliente en una de las semanas más frías de Febrero.
The rooms were nice and the pool was clean and the breakfast was good also.
That I didn't know that the road going to smugglers notch was seasonal til I got there.
Friendly staff - upgraded us for free to a king room when we arrived. We had booked an economy room. Not fancy, but clean and also family friendly.
The location was the best. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were good. Good breakfasts too.
Daily room rate was high for the type of room: older, dated decor, uneven floors, small room, overall the hotel needs a lot of updating. I guess we were paying mostly for the location of the property. Wifi was spotty.
Ambience, location, BREAKFAST, staff was extremely friendly and helpful, nice fireplace lounge, great mix of fellow travelers. Did I mention location and breakfast?
4 to a room with 2 queen-size beds made for crowded quarters, but still comfortable. More pegs to hang things on (like Mount Mansfield Lodge!) would be nice.
The staff was very helpful, breakfast was very good, the pool, sauna, and hot tub were excellent after skiing and snowboarding all day. I would definitely stay there again.
The room was a little tight with two double beds, a desk, tv entertainment center. I would have liked to have a little more drawers, perhaps a dresser. There was no storage space in the bath, however, we made due and would recommend Northern Lights.
Everything- good value for money close to skiing and town, free breakfast
Breakfast was great, lovely home made muffins and cookies as well as the usual items
This lodge was by far the best we'd visited during our recent New England vacation. We loved it!!
Absolutely NOTHING negative to say about Northern Lights!! If we ever get back to the area again, we'll definitely stay at Northern Lights (and will highly recommend it to everyone we know)!!
Visited Stowe for leaf peeping and stayed at the Northern Lights Lodge. Our stay was very enjoyable. The room was nice and clean, and the breakfast was amazing. Also,, there was hot apple cider and homemade cookies in the lobby in the evenings, The owners were very nice and helpful. We would definitely recommend the Norther Lights to anyone visiting the Stowe area.
there was a washing machine (very helpful during a long trip), pool, sauna, good breakfast and quick and efficient reply to all request.
Excellent breakfast with home made muffins. Staff all very attentive. Michael and Shannon made us very welcome and it was very homely. Tea / coffee and home made biscuits available all the time. Washing machine was appreciated.
Breakfast was incredible!
helpful and friendly staff good sized room free wifi good breakfast
whole place in need of refurbishment expensive for facilities provided rubbish found under bed
we were greeted by the whole family and enjoyed talking with them. Great hot breakfast!!!
The Location on mountain road was great
Could be upgraded. A bit worn for wear.
Bedding was clean.
Stove was very dirty. Room smelt like urine. Floors need repairs. I have spent over 1000 nights in hotels and this ranked the second worst.
Good staff Good large, clean room Quiet Good breakfast, with choices
A little too far away from main town area and restaurants
