The location was the best. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were good. Good breakfasts too.
Daily room rate was high for the type of room: older, dated decor, uneven floors, small room, overall the hotel needs a lot of updating. I guess we were paying mostly for the location of the property. Wifi was spotty.
Ambience, location, BREAKFAST, staff was extremely friendly and helpful, nice fireplace lounge, great mix of fellow travelers. Did I mention location and breakfast?
4 to a room with 2 queen-size beds made for crowded quarters, but still comfortable. More pegs to hang things on (like Mount Mansfield Lodge!) would be nice.
The staff was very helpful, breakfast was very good, the pool, sauna, and hot tub were excellent after skiing and snowboarding all day. I would definitely stay there again.
The room was a little tight with two double beds, a desk, tv entertainment center. I would have liked to have a little more drawers, perhaps a dresser. There was no storage space in the bath, however, we made due and would recommend Northern Lights.
Everything- good value for money close to skiing and town, free breakfast
Breakfast was great, lovely home made muffins and cookies as well as the usual items
This lodge was by far the best we'd visited during our recent New England vacation. We loved it!!
Absolutely NOTHING negative to say about Northern Lights!! If we ever get back to the area again, we'll definitely stay at Northern Lights (and will highly recommend it to everyone we know)!!
Visited Stowe for leaf peeping and stayed at the Northern Lights Lodge. Our stay was very enjoyable. The room was nice and clean, and the breakfast was amazing. Also,, there was hot apple cider and homemade cookies in the lobby in the evenings, The owners were very nice and helpful. We would definitely recommend the Norther Lights to anyone visiting the Stowe area.
there was a washing machine (very helpful during a long trip), pool, sauna, good breakfast and quick and efficient reply to all request.
Excellent breakfast with home made muffins. Staff all very attentive. Michael and Shannon made us very welcome and it was very homely. Tea / coffee and home made biscuits available all the time. Washing machine was appreciated.
Breakfast was incredible!
helpful and friendly staff good sized room free wifi good breakfast
whole place in need of refurbishment expensive for facilities provided rubbish found under bed
we were greeted by the whole family and enjoyed talking with them. Great hot breakfast!!!
The Location on mountain road was great
Could be upgraded. A bit worn for wear.
Bedding was clean.
Stove was very dirty. Room smelt like urine. Floors need repairs. I have spent over 1000 nights in hotels and this ranked the second worst.
Good staff Good large, clean room Quiet Good breakfast, with choices
A little too far away from main town area and restaurants
we stayed in Stowe for 2 night and had great time. beautiful place and tho accomodation was perfect for us. loved the room, great breakfast.
Breakfast buffet was awesome! Staff was friendly! Place was clean!
Really the only complaint...uncomfortable beds.
The manager was very helpful! He upgraded our room too!
The bed was not soft enough for us.
Mike the owner is VERY kind and accommodating! Beds are comfortable and nice rooms. The breakfast was AWESOME! Mike and Shannon work VERY hard on your breakfast. It tastes GREAT! They make it by hand themselves and you get maple syrup from Vermont for your pancakes. What more could you want?
Only one thing-it might be a good idea for travelers to ask for a room in back. Up front is loud from lots of traffic. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this place.
Comfortable beds. Staff very helpful in finding somewhere for us to eat when we arrived lavish Sunday evening. Breakfast muffins.
Location meant you had to drive to restaurants, Stowe centre and ski resort area. Decor dark and shabby, paintwork chipped, polythene shower 'curtain'; made it feel unclean, but it probably wasn't. Room was small.
Very Friendly People, helpful, considerate, room was nice and river in back was very scenic. Located with-in walking or biking of a macadam path to visitors area. Nice, would stay here again. Ken & Kay Gerrick 10/12/14
Helpful and friendly staff, nice room (had one inside the main buiding), great breakfast.
Great breakfast Cleanliness Price Location
The lodge has a feel of being old and past its day.
