Beautiful setting & lovely garden, convenient walk to town for dinner, cooled off in the pool, delicous breakfast, friendly people. Overall Northside School exceeded expectations - I hope to go back some day!

The decor was somewhat dated but it was clean & comfortable.

Fantastic breakfast, charming room, pleasant surroundings and ample parking.

We like to sleep with the windows open but the train whistle across the valley woke us up a few times.

Ruth has certainly transformed her old school. Each of the guest rooms is unique, spacious, and comfortable. Not only is Ruth a creative decorator, but she also is a talented cook.... cookies when you arrive and a breakfast that is amazing. The surprise was a heated outdoor pool and a hot tub. Undoubtedly because it was a school, we learned many interesting things from Ruth. This was a memorable experience.

Road construction. Certainly not Ruth's fault.

It is fantastic to use old school for bed and breakfast. Long windows all bedroom including breakfast area. Beautiful rooms, hallway, lounge and stairways as well.

Beautifully restored, great breakfast, congenial hosts, pool and hottub.

Room-to-room noise. Could hear people moving about in other rooms. Earplugs were provided in each room by hosts for 'train noise'.

A Great Facility, Everything was awesome, truly a peaceful rest, and enjoyed a fabulous breakfast along with wonderful conversation with new friends Allen & Lucy from Tuscon, Arizona. We will be back for sure in the future, and many thanks to Ruth and the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.L & D Plett, Langley, BC Canada

Very appealing place, nice breakfast. Hosts were very accommodating. The design of the inside was done very well to keep the style of the old school. Comfortable grounds outside also.

Pillows -not accommodating to ones with cervical injuries or problems.Need to have a small pillow or something to lie down on that keeps the cervical spine flat not at a incline.

Friendly and helpful innkeepers. Delicious home cooked breakfast buffet with a local seasonal treat, huckleberry pancakes.

The setting, rooms and breakfast were lovely. We would stay there again!

The manager was a bit negative about other visitors.

Ruth the friendliest host, quaint converted 100 year old schoolhouse now a Bed and Breakfast.with lovely, creaky floors. Swimming pool and hot tub available. Breakfasts with quiche, huckleberry stuffed french toast, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, almond cherry scones, hashbrowns, bagels and cream cheese, toast, cereal, coffee, juice served in finely appointed dining room.

The only drawback was that the huckleberry stuffed french toast was not served for lunch and dinner also! Just kidding, they only serve breakfast, but man that was the best french toast I have ever eaten!

Our room theme was "The Classroom", blackboard, colored chalk and all. Bathroom was comfortable tub and shower, beds were comfortable, and the decor of the whole B&B was very enjoyable. Breakfast was fabulous: Quiche, souffle', bacon, sausage links, huckleberry stuffed french toast, eggs, cereal, muffins, toast with fresh jam, coffee, tea, orange juice, apple juice. Midday there was lemonade and wine available, with fresh cookies and places to set and meet others or not - the deck, the stairway landing seats. The outdoor pool is medium sized and depth, and I and my 90 year old friend went swimming. 87 degrees felt good in the high nineties weather. When our plans changed and I cancelled the first night, there was no penalty. Gene and Ruth Perry have created an elegant B & B out of this old school, and accommodate children as well. One couple had come for a romantic weekend, and said it was so worth it. We'll be back.

Watch for signage. We had difficulty with it.

The building it self is gorious. Came back from dinner in Bonners & they had a little cart with liquiors & some glasses - little sign "Help Yourself", we poured a little nite cap & took it up to our room - nice little touch.

A complete pleasure staying there. So cozy yet interesting and cool. The staff was awesome and my room was perfect! So well done! And the food was to live for...I Am officially a huckleberry addict (again) after the huck stuffed french toast and amazing whole huck syrup...That was the "piece de resistance" Perfect

Not enough time to enjoy it all...

The quite and cool night with the pine trees right out our window. And the friendliness of the owners.

    Not a darn thing!

Tastefully remodeled brick school with pool, spa and delightful garden, even has a view. Decorated with antiques. Elevator available if you don't want to climb the gorgeous three flights of stairs.

Ruth made our stay memorable. The breakfast is five star (or better). Rooms with all the touches in a first class B&B.

What didn't we like! The owners have done a great job of restoring and decorating. They are very friendly. Breakfast was the best I've had at a "hotel". Bonners Ferry is a lovely little town. If this B&B were closer to a major city, the price would be at least double.
