Oak Plantation Resort  

Die Aussenanlagen sind eigentlich sehr schoen angelegt. Der kleine See im Mittelpunkt mit kleinen Wegen zum Spazieren gehen. Genau richtig nach einem langen Disneyworld Tag, etwas Ruhe.

Das Zimmer ist renovierungsbeduerftig. In erster Linie sollte aber erst mal gruendlich sauber gemacht werden, dann koennte man auch besser ueber den etwas veralteten Zustand des Inventars hinwegsehen! Nach einer 10 stuendigen Anreise, wollten wir alle gerne ins Bett und ausgeruht den naechsten Tag in Disneyworld geniessen. Da hat uns der Service des Hotels erst mal einen Strich durch die Rechnung gemacht. Fuer das Sofabett waren keine Kissen,Bettbezuege, Decken....vorhanden. Nach Nachfrage an der Rezeption sollte gleich jemand kommen und die Sachen bringen. Wir haetten das Bettzeug gleich selber mitgenommen, aber die Dame an der Rezeption wollte uns nichts geben. Mittlerweile war es 23Uhr und die gesamte Familie total muede. Wir haben die Nacht dann zu viert in einem Bett geschlafen, Bettzeug hat keiner gebracht. Nach nochmaliger Beschwerde am naechsten Morgen, hat sich keiner richtig dafuer zustaendig gefuehlt, auch nicht der Manager. Wir baten das Problem tagsueber zu beheben. Nach einem langen und anstrengenden Tag am Hotel angekommen, war wieder nichts erledigt worden. Wir mussten wieder an die Rezeption! Dank des Einsatzes eines Sicherheitswachmann kamen wir dann endlich zu Kissen und Decken. Das war alles sehr frustrierend. Ausserdem war an der vorhandenen Bettdecke ein riesiger, ekeliger brauner Fleck! Wir waren schon in einigen Hotels und erwarten in dieser Preisklasse nicht allzuviel Luxus. Aber Sauberkeit und ein fuer unsere Begriffe so kleines Problem wie fehlendes Bettzeug zu loesen, sollte schon moeglich sein.

We enjoyed our brief (2 days) stay at Oak Plantation and plan to return the next time we do a Disney Vacation. The pools were fun and the room was just the right size for a family of four. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the flora/scenery was ideal for a resort.

The kitchen set-up was good except that there was not detergent for the dishwasher.

Nothing, the hotel was in need of some desperate upgrading. The furniture in the unit was totally worn out, the carpet was shabby, the linens were in terribly shape. The washer/dryer was unusable and the ice maker didn't work. The tv's were outdated as well. Everything had a musty closed in smell.

The pool area was very nice and the location was close to Disneyworld.

My family and I stayed at the Oak Plantation Resort in Kissimmee 3/19 - 3/25. We were booked into Room 506. I have read about bed bugs before and we checked the room when we got in to make sure there was nothing. We thought we had checked it over well, but obviously we hadnt. My daughter got bit the first night. We checked the bed again and found dirt, but didnt see any live bugs. After the second night, I woke up and picked up my daughter's pillow to find a bedbug scurry out from underneath it. We ended up finding 3 adult bugs and one smaller bug in a matter of minutes. We brought 2 of them to the front desk. They offered to move us to a different room, which they did. Since we know about bed bugs, we ended up going to the nearest Walmart to buy garbage bags and we washed and dried all of our belongings that day. (Extensive heat kills the bugs). We lived out of garbage bags the rest of the trip, my kids would not sleep at all, and we wasted money and more than an entire day of our vacation dealing with this mess. After all this, the only thing the resort did was refund me one night of our stay and gave us free breakfasts. I was frustrated as again, I had wasted a lot of money and time on this during our vacation. The resort was very rude and told us that they had the room checked and couldnt find any bugs. I am very concerned they are not going to treat the room and let another family stay there. We talked to many managers over the stay and all of them said the same thing, that they couldnt find any further bugs. They were rude about the whole thing and one of managers even said they had problems with them before as well as roaches. So he didnt even want to step foot into the room to look with us (so we could show him they were there). If you end up staying at the resort, steer clear of room 506.

Location is convenient. Resort has a lot of good qualities and immenities.

Upon check in there were not enough towels for the two people that were booked on the reservation and no bath mat. The bed sheets were too small for the king size mattress and kept coming off the bed. When we asked to have them changed they put the exact same size sheets on the bed. The safe did not work. The dresser in the bedroom looked like it came out of a flood. When you opened the top drawer all three drawers would fall out. The sofa was old and very uncomfortable. This was not one of their better units and needles to say we were very disappointed with our room and communicatede this to the staff during check out. They were friendly and seemed to take our comments seriously

How close it is to major theme parks.

Not clean, croaches all over the place, there are no towels available in the pool area, the resort looks as though it is not kept in good condition.

The layout of the units, grounds & amenities is very attractive revolving around a central pond.

We have stayed at Oak Plantations before. However after this stay we won't be returning. The interior of the units are worn & in many cases in need of rehab. The first unit we were given the air conditioning didn't work; the in unit safe had no locking mechanism; the living room furniture was soft, spongy & frayed; the carpet stained & dirty. We insisted on being moved to another unit & it was just acceptable.

Friendly staff but a very old and worn out property. If you stay there, request the renovated building as it is much nicer than the other buildings.

The room had an old musty smell too it. It was so bad that I had to be moved to another room. There was hair in the bed and the bedframe was broken. The front desk staff are very friendly and motivated. The cleaning staff seems to be very disinterested in cleaning anything. My friends stayed in another building and they had roaches in their room. If I were not traveling alone I would not have stayed there.

It's was filthy. It was infested with ants. no cleaning. Broken door locks. Terrible customer service.
