Ideal location, comfortable and clean. Great value.
Near the beach
Office closed when we arrived. No instructions left for us.
Very quiet place and very good place from pier and third
Just sometimes the parking place not available
Good location close to the centre of town and a really, really short walk to the pier. Helpful and friendly staff. Room was clean and tidy. Comfy, large bed. Kind of felt like a motel but clean, tidy, more comfortable. Wifi worked. Good value for money.
Didn't have sex with that girl I met in town. Mind you, she was a bit drunk so I put her in a taxi home instead. Still, I got her number and met her the next day.
Close to Santa Monica Pier.
A bit noisy at 1 to 2am as bar next door emptied out.
It's motel type. Not value for money at all.
We could not sleep for more than 3 nights of our stay because of the noisy guests at the up floor. There was no working staff during the night. Also the parquets were creaking very loudly!!!
Parking. Very tight
We drive a GMC Yukon (not the extra large one). It did not fit into any of the parking places offered. Parking was $20 a day. Street parking is non- existent.
This hotel was fantastic. Room was well sized, bed was very comfortable, and the location is fantastic. Within walking distance to pier and shopping. The Ocean Lodge far exceeded my expectations & I would recommend to any one wanting to stay in Santa Monica.
This place has good value for money. It has the basic amenities and the location is excellent being close to the 3rd promenade and Main street. The personnel was helpful with us; initially we were given a room (Queen) close to the street and asked to more further inside to avoid noise. They willingly gave us another room (double king, no extra charge) that was much better in terms of noise. The room was very clean and it even had a tub. Despite its problems I think that for this price it's a good choice for a small stay in Santa Monica.
The ceiling is very low and this makes the room suffocating and gloomy. The noise cannot be avoid being next to the Ocean Avenue but if you get a room towards the yard then things will be a lot better. Wifi signal was weak.
The location is perfect!! Close from everything. Service is great is like they said small inside but big in service!.
A cheap and cheerful place to stay, if you just want somewhere to sleep whist visiting here, Great value for money. Fantastic location, it's a 5 min walk from Santa Monica pier.
Great value, 5 minutes to pier, Chez Jay next door, free hot drinks and water
Great walking location to beach and promenade . Rooms were clean, small, adequate but nothing remarkable
There was some electric motor near our room which kept turning on and off every 20 minutes throughout the night. It made for a bad night's sleep. Also quite alot of street noise in the morning. Next time I'd spend $50 more for a nicer place.
Location, Room Price, Comfort, Staff
Parking accommodation: scant room to navigate, unload, etc. Was surprised to be charged parking fee for next-to-door parking. A Santa Monica issue? Office hours limited; thus access to coffee limited. No coffee service in rooms.
Very good staff. Close to beach, pier, restaurants.
Too expensive for a Wed night in Oct; off season.
The room was not very clean. It was too small for 5 people, even though it was supposed to be a suite. There was nowhere to park our mini van, they charge 20 dollars a day for parking but they have no parking spaces. The room was so small we could not get around each other. The vent was full of dust, it was just so dirty. We had booked for 2 nights, after one look at the room we cancelled the 2nd night. It was off season and we paid 400 dollars for 1 night. There are not enough outlits, we had to take turns charging our phones, we had the coffee pot on the floor as there was no space to plug it in anywhere. It was our moms birthday and that room was so dissapointing.
Stored our bags for us Great location Coffee / ice facilities near office
Wifi hardly works at all won't load anything as too slow Room (suite) very small so no room for bags for the 4 of us in a 2 bedrm unit. Room so small the door would not close as it hit bed. Office not always manned.
The room layout and the ability to accommodate a family of 5. Close proximity to the beach and the pier.
Parking wasn't ideal but it worked out.
Poor state of repair, wobbly locks, high price for rough motel.
Everything about my stay was great. Staffs were very friendly and courteous, my room was clean and cozy. Great location, close to everything...it will make your stay in Santa Monica so worth it. I even came back the following week for a couple of days vacay.
The location was excellent however I wouldn't recommend the hotel to others but if location is the only thing you're after then that's the place to stay! The staff were very willing and gave us a full refund when we checked out 4 days early.
The cleanliness of the room plus a leaking toilet, the noise from the neighbours, bugs and I suffered from bites during the night.
The room was nice and the staff was nice and helpful. Internet was fast.
Awefully noisy: the rooms are very near a high traffic street and there is no isolation on the door and windows. No breakfast.
