Score from 118 reviews Very good
Hotel is in close proximity to the wharf, boardwalk, West Cliff, town, and has some good breakfast offerings.
No Wifi capability in the room; could hear other occupants on top floor (e.g., stomping feet, toilet flushing); room hadn't been vacuumed and still had the sand from previous occupant on the floor.
Internet didn't work.
The location was convenient to the pier and to downtown.
The room smelled like a disinfectant when we first entered it. We left the window and door open for quite a while and then it was ok.
A bit noisy and although it is not far from the beach, it is a good walk to the downtown. Rooms are ok.
Night Staff checkin guy was great, I arrived at 1.30am
Nothing other than the bed was a bit squeaky.
The rooms were very clean, lots of windows. The location to the beach and downtown were good.
The breakfast was ok. It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit, a few more options to eat.
This hotel was well situated and very close to the Boardwalk area.
The hotel was more like a motel than a hotel, and it gave the aura of being a bit old and tired. The carpets could use a good scrub... In fact the entire place could use a good scrub. The breakfast was the poorest of my entire trip.... Nothing but sugary cereals, breads and waffles - no protein at all, except yogurt.
Location close to Harbor, TV channels, good pricing
The pool area, breakfast. Serve good breakfast or leave it. Learn sustainability. Do you actually know what dishwashers are?
INTERNET - PROBLEMS WITH CONECTION
spacious room, comfortable beds, top notch shower. Friendly and helpful staff.
Noise travels through floor from above. Get a top floor room.
Good deal, free breakfast
Cleanliness of our room, room did not have shampoo, conditioner, or guide to the city
Typical motel. Clean room, good location, but bit noisy (cars) due to the closeness to the street.
Location was close to boardwalk - walking distance - and town.
Sheets were hard and smelled like bleach.
It was a nice place to stay. Close to the beach and wharf. Would stay again.
Loved the room, bed was very comfortable, shower was spacious.
We got a room with the jacuzzi tub, but were told upon check in (around 10:30) that we weren't allowed to run it after 10 pm :( That was one of the reasons for picking this hotel for our special getaway and then it went unused.
Location was central to boardwalk and downtown.
Price, noisy refrigerator all night long, someone running in the room above most of the evening, dirty fingerprints on the bathroom door.
It was clean, the staff was very nice. Good location for the beach, the boardwalk and the cliffs.
The pool was okay, the hit tubs were dirty. The vending machines did not work. Trying to nap at the cleaning staff was way to loud dreaming at each other in fun
Loved the location and cleanliness. Great value
The noisy fridge!
This clean, friendly hotel was within walking distance of the boardwalk, beach, wharf & restaurants. It close to other "views" too. It also has a pretty good breakfast.
3 star quality without a doubt. been to many 2 star rated and they had many poor factors and we're over rated. I would return here.
Location close to the beach, Pier and boardwalk, close to town also. Quiet at night, large rooms, friendly staff, free parking and Breakfast included (try the waffle iron).
Pool was nice. The rooms were very quiet.
Would like more protein choices in the breakfast. Eggs or sausage. Need an upgrade on wallpaper and wall art.
I was traveling with two kids (10&15). We had a room with two king size beds, separated by a hall with a bathroom. It was essentially like having two rooms or a suite. The hotel was newly remodeled and very clean. Ample parking in the lot and a very close walk to the pier and the boardwalk. We could hear the seals barking at night with our window open.
The hotel is non smoking everywhere so they have put large ashtrays on the landings outside the rooms. Saturday night was quite busy and a lot of people were outside smoking. Someone was smoking weed very close to our room. I had all the windows open because I like the sea air but the smell was overpowering so I had to shut them. This bothered me a lot but I soon realized if you walk through Santa Cruz, you smell weeks everywhere. It's probably not a place to go if you are very offended by people using it in public. I just don't like my kids around it.
The amenities were nice. Large room, we were upgraded- thank you. Large double shower was cool too. The room needs to updated though.
The noisy kids running up and down the walkway. That's no real fault of the hotel though.
The hotel was in a good location to get to restaurants and shops.
A school party was there the same time as us and were very noisy at night and first thing in the morning.
