Close to many different beautiful beaches and restaurants
We showed up late the first night for my 2 night 3 day stay I reserved for my birthday weekend getaway w/hubby. They put me in scary moldy condemn-able room which was not the one I reserved. Because I got there late I didnt speak to them until the next morning when I asked to be moved to the queen room. I knew it was available because I checked on this site and it was being offered for $60.00 less than what I paid. They said they couldnt move me. I asked if I could get the following nights money back so I could find another place because I could not nor would not shower in that bathroom. The man said no i would have to take it up with the company i booked them through. I was advised to take pictures of state of room by the booking company (those can be found on the site where people usually go to post complaints) so i snapped some photos and left. Long story short I spent my birthday almost $400 in the hole looking for another place which is impossible on the weekend along the California coast, just because I wanted to take a shower in something that wasnt a risk to my health. I am not even a picky person. Seriously folks I am not exaggerating it was BAD. Plus to top it all off the owner of the establishment (whom I never saw or spoke with) tried lying to booking company about me harassing them and threatening me with the police. which was completely false I spoke very politely to the man at front and when I was told I would not be moved from the room I was in, I left the room(without my money) even cleaner than how I found it only giving a nod goodbye as I dropped the keys in bowl at window, and they returned the favor with malice, lies and manipulation to cover their own tails. It was the single worst experience I have ever had with a business anywhere of any kind. BTW they are in NO way a 3 star hotel and the pictures they have on this site are Photo shopped the rooms look nothing like the pictures advertised here. Be warned.
They changed our reservation from two queen beds to a foldaway sofa and king bed. The foldaway was very uncomfortable. The house is on a major highway and is very loud and the other side is next to a gas station. The bathroom had no place to put down your personal items. The room smelled overwhelmingly of fresh paint . It was clean and the "view" of the water was across the highway and through a small opening in the brush.
promised wiev, but get a room with no wiev, when I ask for it, they tolg me a Price 300% heigher. 3 times I asked for wifi, same answer, because of rain in the area, wifi was slow, but absolutly not working. far to nearest resturant
Our room was run down and cold. The heater blew only cold air. I asked the desk attendant to see if he could turn on the heat. He was unable to get it to work, so he gave me a small radiant heater for the night, which was insufficient for the size of the room, then he shut the service window without any apology or interest in helping us further. I understand that this is an old building and problems are going to arise, but his disregard and rudeness was unacceptable. I've never experienced a worse stay at a hotel!
The food and staff at the bakery, located next door, were a welcome relief after a miserable night at the Ocean View Inn.
the room was old and smelled bad, the curtains were frayed and there were spackle patches on the ceiling. the view was blocked by trees and poles. the balcony was shared w 2 other rooms.the staff was rude.
We couldn't stay longer
There was an odor in the room that opening the windows didn't help. The guy manning the window when we checked in was not very friendly, kind of curt.
The room was large and there was a view of the ocean.
There was nothing we didn't like.
My wife and I stayed here over my 50th birthday and the place served as a "basecamp" for our visit to S.F. - we stayed in the suite on the top floor, very tastefully designed interior, great view and very quiet at night though right next to Hwy. 1. Staff friendly, great breakfast in the small café next door. We'll be back ((c:
The room was not what was advertised, the furniture was worn out and ripped no flat screen tv or sofa bed as advertised, distinct odor in room in general it was old and needs to be updated.
The staff was really unfriendly, we didn't have that in 3 weeks! Noisy room, due to Highway No 1 and cooling system next door all night ! Could not sleep with the window open.
Located near a great beach !!!
Bed was like sleeping on a concrete slab & we kept rolling to get her. Bathroom door wouldn't stay shut.
It had a big room with a comfortable sofa & a deck.
We loved everything about our stay here!
Pictures on website show quite luxury, but hotel needs some refreshment. Outdoor staircases cannot be used as probably will be dangerous for visitors. You need to sign "warning paper" what you cannot do, one of point is that if you use jacuzzi (what is in every room) you may pay penalty 250 USD for damages witch can occure
Located on highway 1 CA on ocean side, historical Inn, petrol station and minimart next to hotel. Breakfast in neighbouring building, fresh selection of pastries. Just 5 minutes walk from very good seafood (with south american hint) restaurant La Costanera
The staff was curt and unfriendly, the décor was atrocious, plugs were unsafe, loose and bare wires, the decks were hazardous, doors did not close, bulbs were burned out, there was no Wi-Fi, and the advertising was a complete hoax
The Mayan restaurant next door was very good.
There was nothing we didn't like
This is a historical building with class. The staff was friendly, the room was beautiful and clean. We stayed on the top floor and had the best view. Granted not all the rooms have the same view. You do have to climb stairs to enjoy this hotel. The location is perfect. Walking distance to Montara Beach. Driving distance to some amazing resturants, beaches and views. We will be staying here again. If your looking for a typical hotel this is not one of those. If you want something different then try it out. We love it.
We like to stay there. Only one think is , my mom had hard time to go up stairs, which is no body fall. People was very professional and friendly.
The staff was very nice and helpful.
I had to show the attendant that I was charged twice the price. I think if she could have gotten away with it she would have done so. I don't know what they use to wash the sheets and towels, but it left a disgusting after stench that was too much for me to handle. It woke me up three times in the middle of the night.
I like the price of the room and the room itself
Wifi didn't work, breakfast was not as indicated, old and in need of repair, renovation. Definitely not worth the money.
Ocean view?? there was no ocean view. No telephone in room. Smoking rooms not available. charged my debt card before arriving when I told them I would be paying cash. The card was for reserving the room only.the do not allow late check outs or early check ins.
The room smelled moldy and when manager was cooking it smelled liked food cooking. The carpet was old, the bedding was worn out, the Wi-Fi would not give a strong connection. All in all for the money, I would expect things to be in better shape.
Room was spacious, location was nice.
Enjoyed view of ocean, patio space and friendly staff. Room was comfy and clean too!
