The people at the reception were young but just superfriendly! Because it was our honeymoon we got one of the best rooms and indeed the room had a balcony and an ocean view, it was just super! Also breakfast was included and was just perfect with fresh fruit etc. Great hotel!!! Overall appearance of the hotel is not so great (since you need to park the car behind the hotel you see less beautiful stuff)

The staff changed frequently so you had the opportunity to meet and gather information that you needed. Everyone of them were different, one offered advice on activities and gave complimentary coupons to seafood restaurants that I intended to visit. They had a complimentary breakfast each morning and on weekends they made omelets. Maid service was quick and sufficient. We were always supplied with everything. I needed to use a microwave in the evenings and they opened the dining hall to accommodate me. I didn't bring a computer, was informed that there was one for guests to use but that didn't happen. The hotel itself is huge. My room was at the end and to reach the office, I walked down the street, past a restaurant, about 3 blocks. Brochures for things to do were hidden and only the staff could hand them out. Ice machine was not available, but you could call and a staff member would bring ice to you room. They charged daily for parking which is new for me.

Nice continental breakfast. The fleet of cruiser bikes are an excellent way to explore the waterfront and downtown Santa Barbara; the streets are bike friendly. In room coffee really should be included. Bathrooms are ready for updating.

Clean, convenient, close to beach, bathroom was clean and nice. Thin walls. The family upstairs had kids who were running around until late. More for beach, family place than a quite, resort atmosphere. Ok place for price. A little more touch up on the decor couldn't hurt. Recommendation depends on what the travellers are looking for: NO if looking for quiet, cozy, charming place - YES, if the rooms don't matter too much and not much time is spent in the room - and want beach access is important for a decent price. It's priced correctly for the value in the area.

It was a beautiful, clean, hotel that totally encompassed the Santa Barbara vibe and experience. Location was perfect, staff was friendly, free breakfast was great, and room was tastefully designed with Southern California flare. Expensive, but worth it!

Location was good, room was nice (the sea facing) but a bit on the higher price side, toilets were ok a little cramped and old. The hotel is spreadout, they must have taken over adjoining building and made it into their hotel. We were just passing through to san fran and we stayed the night at santa babra, its a beautiful place. Toilet and that it was spreadout n the rooms were as if it is detached from the hotel,

I have stayed there in the past and have always loved the location but this time was totally impressed by how much they have updated the rooms, the lovely staff, the breakfast and free available bikes. I will be staying there again soon. We had a wonderful time!

The employees went out of their way to make sure we were happy. They even brought us up a portable heater and a large thermos of hot water because I was very sick and needed some special items. They even made a trip to the drug store and got me some cough drops and other things I needed. They really cared about me and no request was too much for them. They always remained cheerful and accomodating. Loved everything. Nothing bad to say

Luxury of a boutique hotel, in a beautiful location across from the beach and wharf. While the room had much charm, it was small with hardly any closet space. The bathroom needed to be upgraded, if for no other reason because of the price of the room. It was an old style bath-shower with one sink on a small counter. The professional grade hair dryer added a nice amenity, but generally for the cost per night of the room, the bathroom should not be of a Motel 6 variety. The staff was extremely professional and courteous and we enjoyed the immensely the bicycles the hotel provided (at no cost). The in-room snacks were plentiful in terms of selection, but very pricy if one was consumed. We chose to go to nearby markets and bring back snacks and drinks. Location was wonderful as related to the selection of walking-distance "great restaurants". Seafood was phenomenal. Overall Hotel Oceana was as we expected, very clean and upscale, and we will definably plan to stay there again.... Especially if we find out they have updated the bathrooms. Small closets and outdated bathrooms.

I really liked the location and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I did not like that the coffee in the room was not free. It is kind of tricky because, although there was a menu with prices, I didn't look at it because I thought that it was for the mini bar and not the coffee, which is usually free.

I liked the location-across the street from the waterfront. The breakfast was excellent! I wish I had more time to relax by the pool. It was heated and looked inviting. Loved being able to ride along the beach on their complimentary beach cruisers.

The main positive thing's about hosb is the comfort of the bed and that you can have the option of a ocean view bedroom. I didn't like how they charged for parking each night even though I spent $772.00 for two night's as if that is not enough. The bathtub had a black grim around, and it's ricdlous how they charge 44.00 for a soda, $4 for chips etc, you would think it would be free.!

The staff was very nice and very helpful. We enjoyed our room. It was clean and quiet with a nice peek of the Ocean. We were never told about the continental breakfast, but did discover it on our second day and it too was very nice. The only drawback is the parking. We were there with another couple and we both got parking tickets. We did inform the front desk and they said they had several complaints regarding parking and tickets. Had we been told at check in to pay close attention to where we were parking (one side of the street it's fine to park as a Hotel guest, but the other side of the street is not for Hotel guests). We were also never told about the $30 per night charge for parking as a Hotel guest. This ended our stay on a bit of a sour note.
