The price was right when you are on a budget and great location to Oceanside harbor and Camp Pendleton.
They tried to put lip stick on a pig. Stucco on walls in bath room cracked and coming off and you can see the paint under it door jams broken and bathroom door cracked looks like someone kicked in the door. Mini fridge froze our food. It's just an old building that should have been gutted instead of touched up....
It wasn't too far from our destination
Beds were poor quality and the suite was not what I call a suite
Don't book this hotel if you want to sleep well. Near the highway is an understatement. Eight lanes of asfalt almost go through the motel (25, 30 meters). Slept with paper towels in my ears and head between the pillows and stil saw every hour of the clock. Cars, cars and cars. All five slept that bad that we left the motel although we booked and paid two nights. Not worth the money especially compared to all other motels we visited in any country.
The suite room was pretty spacious compared to others we've stayed in, and it didn't feel like we were falling over each other. The hotel is old and doesn't look like much from the street, but the rooms have been updated and very nice and comfortable.
The hotel is right next to the freeway and although we couldn't hear the sea, we heard a sea of cars (which funny enough has a similar sound to the sea). The air conditioner drowns out most of the sound so we slept well.
Good for the price close to the harbor and great seafood restaurant Comfortable Would stay there again
Location, comfortable clean room, free coffee in rooms.
Wifi was weak. Couldn't get work done or had to sit outside on the curve to get better wifi.
Everything! The room was spotless and the bathroom was free of mold around the tub. (Yes, I'm the typre of person who looks for that.) The bed was comfortable and the bedding was soft. We arrived late and the staff was still very friendly! Easy to get too of the freeway.
Freeway noise, BUT it's right there. No problem really. Everything was great here.
2 room suite, mini fridge and microwave.
Chair with 3 legs, clearly smoked in room, extreme traffic noise, light switch covered in filth. Window open or closed you feel like you're sleeping on the 5.
Old, worn out hotel, very noisy, bathroom leaking, fridge a hand down, no controls, the worst hotel we've been to, should blown down and built a new one, booked for 2 days but left the next day, got so itchy and got rashes from bed bugs, so horrible, not near the beach, wrong and deceiving advertisement!
This is a nice older hotel, well maintained. I came with my 5 year old for a 3 night stay. It was a good hotel, but I may try somewhere else if we return to Oceanside in the future.
My only solid complaint is that I could not find a way to make the a/c run all night. Usually in hotels, there is a fan mode or continuous on or something. This one cycled on and off, no matter what settings I picked. I really like the loud whir of a/c when I sleep, especially in hotels to block any outside noise.
Able to smoke
The bed needs replacement, its worned out. Toilet too close to the wall and door. Wifi is too weak!
It was kinda by the beach
The hotel is right next to the freeway can't really sleep at night cause of the nose of the cars driving and the breakfast bar is a small choice of foods to eat i wouldn't recommend this hotel at all
Staff very professional and polite
When I got there I had to pay a $50 deposit because I booked with booking.com but I didn't find out until after I had checked in and was headed to room almost like an afterthought.
Its location. The people at the front desk were friendly. The woman especially.
This room should not have been availble for guests to PAY to STAY in. There was black mold around the top of the bath tub. Water leaked from the ceiling of the bathroom. My 2 &1/2 year old grand son fell in it. Cig. burns in covers. I understand the hotel was remodeling rooms....this one really needed it. Can't believe how much we were charged for this room. We had to pay for both nights in advance. I have asthma. Can't breathe when there is more humidity in the room than outside then throw in the mold and it triggered an asthma attack for me. Getting a refund for paying in advance for the second night....well that's a whole nother battle.
The location and friendliness of staff
The room was small and very old. We were a family of 4 adults and a one year old. What was considered a family suite was more like one room with a VERY small bedroom. Everything was old and run down, although it looked like the walls and some of the decor were updated. For the price I was very disappointed.
I enjoyed the ability to walk to the beach. You can always drive, but we planned on havering some drinks. So we walked.
The walk back from the beach. You have to walk up hill.
This was a great value for the money, the room had comfortable beds, a/c (and it was hot and humid at the time we were there); the water pressure in the shower was very good also. The staff was very responsive to any questions we had.
It was an 8 minute walk to the beach,
Rooms were old and in poor condition compared to price paid. 5 minute walk to beach was not accurate and walk was dirt trail covered with broken glass. Very disappointed.
Smelly, dirty, the linen looked old and dirty. The rooms were so small and smelled horrible.
We booked this "2 Bedroom Suite" for 4 days. We have 4 adults and 1 child when we booked but only had places for 4 people to sleep. We ordered an extra bed that came and was a taco, thank goodness the child was light and small. We got one set of coffee and bathroom supplies per day so we bought our own. The 2nd bedroom was a closet with a bed in it and it was blazing hot since it had no air. Freeway traffic wasn't nearly as bad as the "CHOICE" characters that hang out on the patio. First night we have Tarot Card Reading gypsy trying to get money from us, second night "very sad" a 19 year old kid that had been awake for a week and he was lost trying to get to Palm Springs for Rehab and last but not least, Hi my name is Paul and I do drugs was our final encounter. He proceeded to need a cell phone to call his girlfriend meanwhile he had no shoes, a liquor bottle in a plastic bag, no teeth and decided to tell us all about his meth addiction. My advise to the "MOTEL" would be monitor your homeless guests that are regulars to your patio and turn your camera on. The guests that pay $600 to stay there don't want to deal with this stuff. We won't even go there about the renovation!!!!!! Don't spend your money here!!!!!
The staff was nice and the furniture updated.
The entry door did not lock, wouldn't even come close. No bathtub to bathe my kids. It was the most expensive place we stayed in on our trip and the shabbiest. As soon as I took of my shoes, I stepped on a Devils Head. The breakfast was super skimpy, we didn't even eat there. If I hadn't paid cash for all 3 nights, I would not have stayed there. I would not recommend it to a family with small children.
The bed was very comfortable.
The iron was broken. Bathroom was not completely cleaned when received.
Nice, friendly owners; clean room; clean, comfy bed; big TV; A/C unit that could freeze a side of beef solid in about an hour.
Weird location; exterior could use a little sprucing up; summer rates are kinda high for what you get.
Customer service was good. Staff was helpful.
Thin walls, not enough parking and very stiff beds.
