It was noisy in the room overlooking Rivington, you have the NY buzz going on all night, not good for light sleepers
The decor of the hotel, the lounge area, the managers were very friendly and helpful, the housekeepers efficient and friendly

The side on Bowery is pretty in pleasant to walk down. I definitely wouldn't walk there at night, nor at all if I could help it. Stay on the Chrystie side unless you are highly street savvy.
It is in a fairly low traffic place, so if you want few crowds, which we did, it works out well. There is a ginormous Whole Foods on the corner with anything you could want to stock the kitchen, this in addition to all the good restaurants and coffee shops.

The 'fitness' center was full of broken equipment. The bed wasn't even fully made.
The room was big for NYC.

No plug for the kitchen sink Apart from clean towels, appeared to be no other servicing - for instance over our 2 week stay the bathroom basin was not cleaned at all (and no cleaning items supplied for us to do this)
Close to Little Italy, Chinatown and Soho shopping, an organic supermarket, and several subway stations Free wifi was great to have, though often very slow Self catering facilities good with full stove as well as microwave

good location, close to 3 subway stations, though of course, per se location in lower east side cannot be compared to upper east side in terms of cleanliness. close to good food as it is downtown. pretty good service, daily change of towels provided. always has someone manning the front desk.

Extremely poor WiFi. The main door to our room had a 1 inch gap at the top. That means anyone in the hallway could look into our room or (if they had a wire) could unlock our door with ease. I spoke to 2 hotel staff about this, separately, and both had no concern whatsoever. They simply said "This is funny! You think someone will go into your room? It is safe here!" If only I was so trusting!
Location, easy access to room, full kitchen.

The staff was wonderful, the romm was exactly what I expected of a hotel room. I will gladly recommend this stay to all my friends.

There's so much room! Stayed in the 4-person deluxe suite, and there's a living room, a full bath, a kitchen, and a little dining area. For that price, it's hard to find anything in Manhattan that isn't just 2 beds and a TV. The staff was incredibly friendly, the beds comfortable, the room very clean. There are tons of bars and restaurants in the area, so it's the perfect place to stay if you're going for a night (or more) out!

Bit noisy - but this is new York. Sometimes the wifi cut out.
Location- whilst there are a few 'characters' around due to a local homeless shelter, I as a lone female was never bothered or harassed. 3 min walk to spring street with lovely restaurants and bars, and if you want some hipster clubs they are right over the road

Could not regulate the temperature of the room because it was central heat (front office regulated it) our room was extremely hot.
The location is great. Spacious quaint suite.

Location is really good. Staff is helpful and you cannot beat the price for the size of room in NYC.

The staff mad rude comments about women leading groups which was extremely disrespectful to the leader of our group who was a woman.
The facilities were excellent for the price we paid. It was ideal for the size of our group, and the staff provided excellent food recommendations.

There's nothing that I didn't like.
I can say that we liked about everything.
March 16, 2015
It was warm, quiet, comfortable and cozy.

Housekeeping did not clean much at all. There was stains on the linen and the wifi was only in the Lounge.
Contemporary feel and around the corner from awesome stores.

staff don't seem welcoming

We had a room at the front and there was a It of street noise
Close to subway, resturants and shopping. Laundry facilities available.

Great place! Fantastic staff and service. Right in the earth of Lower East Side, near Chinatown and Little Italy. Highly recommended!!!

The man at the front desk said he smelled marihuana coming from upstairs and immediately called my room accusing us. I felt like it was only because we were young and black. It was not us, and we didn't appreciate the accusations

lack of hooks to hang winter gear at entrance to room
plenty of space to move about in the room. great shower

My only disappointment was that at check-in we were given the address of a place to park the car overnight and were told if we had our ticket validated by the hotel it would only be $27 to park overnight...we went to get the car the next day and were told there was no such arrangement with the hotel but they did give me a few dollars off. It still cost $39. We mentioned it to the front desk at the hotel and they said they never said that. Minor incident really..the hotel itself is great.
Would definitely stay here again. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and the cleanliness. I also love that it is not in the craziness of Times Square. We got to roam around in more of a neighborhood type atmosphere. Will stay here again.

Shower was very finicky. Either hot hot or freezing. Took us a few days to get the hang of it.
The extra space provided by the suite was nice. We had 4 people in our group and 2 more who stopped by dinner. Close to subway stops, restaurants and Whole Foods grocery.

everything... see above
I stayed here because of lack of options... after 3 or 4 days if staying at the hotel alone, my family joined me for Christmas. the hotel botched my reservation, then tried to blame me for the mistake; these people treated me like a criminal, even after I had been a good sport and tolerated the sub par conditions of the facility... if you want the experience of being in prison (in both ambience and guest "service") then this is a great hotel for you.
