spaciousness of the room
reception staff was not very friendly - not reflective of the usually friendly Hawaiian people
Most of the staff were pretty friendly. Although the pool was small we really enjoyed being able to cool off, when it was too late to go to the beach. Love that there's a Chili's restaurant downstairs, so when we were too tired to cook in the kitchenette we were able to order something and take it upstairs. Also really cool is that the Round Table Pizza located in the sister hotel does free delivery. Absolutely loved that there was a kitchenette so we didn't have to eat out every meal. Real time saver in the morning.
What we didn't enjoy was the maid service, we're not very messy people. We tidied the bed before leaving and left a tip. When we returned, we noticed that she only took out trash. No vacuuming, she didn't even try to fix up bedding a little more for us. The design of the lobby was a little odd, ceiling was extremely short. Made it look like a lobby area was a bit of an after thought. On the day of check out, while we were finishing packing some last minute things the maid just came on in. When she saw us in the room still she said,"Oh you didn't leave yet?" Mind you, it was only 8:30am check out isn't until 12:00pm. As we were starting to take our things downstairs to the car (we had a few things, so more than one trip was required). The maid saw us and was like,"Ok, you're leaving now?" I replied,"No hold on, not yet." It just made it feel like she was rushing us. I mean we're going as fast as we can, checkout wasn't for another 3 hours.
Location is excellent, Pink Line Waikiki Trolley is free so you can access the Ala Moana mall easily for groceries and bus transfers. Pool and the Cabana bar are fun. We stayed in a kitchenette studio which kept our trip within budget.
Understaffed at the front desk, during peak times they cannot keep up with the guests needs which equals poor service. The front desk phone rings off the hook, no assistance even when we had an emergency. We witnessed the front desk staff not answering the phone and hanging up on callers to stop it from ringing, unacceptable BUT the staff is friendly, more employees are required to meet the needs of guests.
Reception staff is very rude
The location of the hotel and the staff excellent.
The pricing of the parking garage was insane!!! 24 hours $25/day clock starts at 0001.... we got there at 2200 and still got charged for a full day of parking.... the showers had mold on the tiles...
Staff were standouts..front desk folk couldn't so enough to help..impressive considering the constant pressure from arriving clientelle
Air con did NOT work.made funny sounds, but did nothing to cool the place down...room facing the construction site opposite .. Noisy!...slow lift service..
The location was great, having the pink trolley out the front was really handy. Supermarket literally just down the road which was really convenient
Kitchen didn't have sharp knives for cutting cheese etc, bigger glasses would have been better too, we used some of our own as the ones in the hotel were really small.
Location was good and a Great price for 8 nights.Housekeeping ladies were very polite, but some of the front desk staff could work on their attitudes and be more helpful with information..... Coffee/tea are complimentary and they give you a little ohana bag as a gift with a cd.
Elevators are terribly busy and slow. I had to ask to switch rooms when we first checked in because I could hear loud kids next to our room.. Plus i did not want to wake up to all the construction outside that they were doing =/ The A.C is awful and probably the worst of it all. We had to request for a fan just to keep cool, but we made it comfortable.
Check-in Staff were a standout for us..everything professional
Air con in room did not work..room facing demolition work across street..
Helpful staff, location and free tourist shuttle.
No wi fi in the rooms, construction outside the building.
Very central to everything, Close to the beach. Very friendly helpful staff. A good value for your money.
Elevators very slow and always busy. Takes longer to get elevators when anywhere but lobby. Some rooms need updating more than others. Our first room had a poor bathroom and shower set up ( very cramped and small) Our second room was in better condition and quite comfortable.
good bell-hops to hold your luggage after checkout
no wifi in the rooms, ac struggles sometimes to keep room cool, slow lifts, floor display in the lifts does not work, sleazy nightclub staff hang around main door
small kitchen to use
AC struggled to keep the room cool, cramped toilet with shower right beside it
Location was good
Hotel is dated
Close to everything. You can also catch the pink trolley for free (normally would cost $2 for entry).
The elevator was slow and not air conditioned so it was really hot and humid.
This place location is fantastic. The place is clean and it wasn't too busy. Which was good. Is you are after something not too flash and in a perfect spot look no more.
Unfortunately when you pay peanuts you get monkeys. The staff couldn't be any slower. Took us nearly an hour for them to figure out how to check us in. When we finally did it the asked for some extra money to be paid as a bond (not sure why). When we were checking out it was another very long process and trying to get our bond back was a drama as they "forgot" we had paid it. Other than that they were ok
No WiFi in the room, very old funishing, very unfriendly stuff at the reception, very noisy during the night: you could hear every word from televison or the people the rooms next to yours amd so on!!!!
Balcony to small! Prefer inclosed
kitchen facility...fridge, hot plates, sink, utensils, Bed and pillows comfortable. Nice big bathroom. Clean.
Big construction site opposite, so kept patio door closed, but Air Conditioning was efficient, so no problem. Don't like paying so much for parking space for our car.
The air con could of been a bit cooler and they need for lifts when its fully booked
The value for staying here was excellent. The staff were friendly we only stayed one night as we were going on a cruise. I would recommend this place for value. Certainly "Aloha style" clean and comfortable.
The style of hotel could do with a facelift but kbut take it out of the keep the "Aloha" style though out of the "80's.......
didnt get what was booked and the air con wasnt working well enough to keep room cool
close to waikiki beach and shops
no wifi in rooms lazy elevator kind of old hotel
Location was great, close to public transport if you don't feel like walking and only a short walk to the beach. cleaning staff were accommodating.
Lifts were very slow. Some of the staff were grumpy and unhelpful. Kitchen was lacking and the freezer didn't work.
