The hotel is nicely located very close to the historic King street. WiFi is not included in the room price, spoiling the impression.

I liked the fact that you could use the bikes to get to King Street and ride the trails. I was not please at all with the transport back and forth to and from the airport or the picked up to and from King Street. My husband and I found it easier to get to King Street by riding the Hotel Bikes. A couple of times we waiting on the driver at the airport for 45 minutes.

Simply beautiful view of the Potomic and D.C. from our room. Everyone was helpful and made us feel at home. Thanks to the free shuttle, we didn't even have to move our car until we were ready to leave for home.

The restaurant offered both a full menu for breakfast as well as a complete hot and cold breakfast buffet. The hotel does not offer a complimentary shuttle service to/from Reagan National Airport.

The cleanliness. When booking the trip we booked a room that was "Double Room Double Bed". I called the hotel directly and they stated the Double Room was adjoining rooms. We stayed here from 04/01 to 04/04/2013. Upon check in, that is what we received, however after the first night we were forced out of one of the rooms, as they stated the booking was just for a double bed room, and they mixed our reservation up who happened to check in with the same name as mine. They then attempted to charge us for the second room for the first night on their mistake. The manager was of no help so we went to the executive sales office where the gentleman told the manager to take off the charges for the second room. We fought with the manager several times and by the end of our trip, it had become so stressful that it was hardly a vacation. The issue as of today 04/07/2013 is still not resolved. We contacted the hotel again by phone the morning of 04/05/2013 to speak with the manager, he advised that the matter was taken care of and the reversal of charges to our bank account had been done and he was supposed to verify this by sending us an email with the receipt of the charge reversal "in a little while". We left our contact information both cell phone and email and the manager still has yet to contact us. We attempted to speak with him with 6 more phone calls through the day, and still nothing has been resolved. The staff was extremely rude and we feel that they do not feel obligated to correct their mistakes. They also charged us for internet use $9.95/day, and parking of $20.00/day which was told to us on check in was $15.00/day. Besides already charging our bank card for the charges, they also still have a hold for another $650.00 on the credit card that we reserved the room with, which the manager was supposed to resolve prior to our departure.

Proximity to DC Staff not friendly ...not dirty ..but not clean ...was not given breakfast tickets for all 3 days and when I asked they said "oops" ...room key deactivated and when inquired no apology or reason ..restaurant did not have good service or food quality ...silverware and glasses dirty ..I understand it was spring break but better planning maybe next year allowing for increased staffing ..had to wait almost an hour for shuttle return back to hotel.

The room with a view was worthwhile, convenient location close to airport & Alexandria, the bed was comfortable and the pillows were soft. The bartender was surprisingly warm and welcoming. When I first came in the staff seemed like they had more important things to do than to greet myself and my lady. Not so much as eye contact. There were no other customers, and after standing there for a few moments, we had to greet them. While we were staying there, a protest took place in front of the hotel over discrimination against Syrians. What kind of place is this? The hotel looked older and more drab than I expected and did not seem to live up to its colorful photos. The $20.00/night parking pass was not mentioned with the booking information. There are other hotels in the area which would have been a lower price for what would seem to be a better experience.

The staff tried their best to serve in a timely manner but it was impossible for them. The hotel seemed to be short staffed throughout the property and unprepared for the amount of business. Seemed the staff had no idea to expect the innauguration business.

Food, bar, room size, cleaniness The process of getting in my room, I was at front desk way too long. I already had a reservation booked online I even brought my laptop with me to prove that I did. They said they had a different order number that I had but I still came up in system. A line was building behind me while she was playing on computer. Then I was asked for credit card to pay for it again and the deposit for more money that they claimed was for damages. I ended up paying cash for a room I prebooked days ago because they couldn't use my card for everything. About 10 mins later I finally got my room key. I was so frustrated, that took way to long. I was relieved with all my heavy bags on me when I got to my room and passed out on comfy bed.

Spaciousness of the room and the view. As a Crowne Plaza member, I was told Parking was free as was Internet access. We then were charged for Internet and the parking was added to the bill after we questioned the internet fee. From a customer retention standpoint, that is poor service. Build the cost in upfront, but don't add to pricing after you are told there's no charge! Hotel needs updating of carpeting in elevators and rooms.

We had the Breakfast Plan, which was an OUTSTANDING breakfast buffet. The buffet staff was excellent, courteous, attentive and we would highly recommend it!! Our room had a gorgeous view of the Potomac River, with a beautiful landscape of lights in early morning and evening. We intend to return most definitely. The young lady at the front desk who checked us into the hotel about 11 am was less than welcoming, and less than helpful. We had five pieces of luggage, which is quite a bit to handle, and we had to beg for a luggage carrying machine (on rollers) to help ourselves up to our room. We finally found a machine outside the hotel at the curb. This young lady made no effort at all to assist locating any machine, or personnel to help. She is not an asset to this beautiful hotel. All other staff was helpful and courteous.

We were bumped from our room due to a "flood from a broken pipe" which may or may not be the truth as told to us by the manager. The alternate accommodations provided were 30 minutes in the wrong direction of downtown, where we had an early morning meeting. Due to no longer being on the Metro line, we had to call a cab for transportation to our meeting. The cab never showed, and we were 20 minutes late for a very important client meeting--all because the Crown Plaza failed to provide rooms that we had reserved in advance. We are extremely angry at the Crowne Plaza Alexandria and will never attempt another stay.

Thought the tap room was nice and the bar person was very nice. A little hallway noise. I was given a handicap room unbeknownst to me but didn't bother changing. It should have been brought to my attention at checkin
