Very beautiful staff friendly hotel rooms are nice and very comfortable
Need to advertise more packages in details and prices also have an option if you can choose a room with continental breakfast or if room service is available
The location was convenient to downtown, and being on the water was nice for a beautiful morning walk
Asked for a cot when we checked in, called down for a cot after dinner, called at 11:00pm for a cot and went down to front desk at midnight to get a cot. Every time we were promised that it was on its way. Never got it and adult son slept on the disgusting floor.
Bedbugs!!! Unfriendly staff, best rooms are not included, breakfast not included, pillows missing
I didn't like how when I stepped onto the elevator it smelt like marijuana and after that the whole hotel did. I did not feel safe with some of the staff and felt extremely uncomfortable around the make staff.
The King room was excellent, the bartender made awesome drinks, and the janitorial staff was really nice and efficient.
We ordered and paid for a king room with a view of the river, but instead got a standard room that was small and cramped. After complaining to the rude lady at the front desk who originally lied and said no other rooms were available, we were given the appropriate room but were told the view would be almost $100 extra. The front desk workers should switch jobs with the janitorial staff which would turn this rating from poor to excellent. Reserving the room on booking.com made us second class guests.
The brick exterior gives the hotel a ole world charm. The lobby is large and tastefully done. The rooms are very comfortable with extremely high ceilings and high windows overlooking the river. Would absolutely stay aain if in Detroit.
Location on Riverfront is perfect. Warm atmosphere.
Too little light in room; curtains were not really closing, but these are minor things. The room was gorgious.
The customer service in the restaurant... Very friendly.
My stay at the hotel was fine; however, when I arrived home and checked my bank statement I found discrepancies in the billing. First I was charged more than the bill after settled my balance at the hotel and secondly I found duplicate charges for my stay on my bank statement. It took numerous calls to the hotel and Manager before this discrepancy was settled
This was out first time at this hotel great place and Location :)
The staff was very nice and very accommodating. The rooms were beautifully renovated. On a quite site street overlooking the Detroit Reiver with a beautiful view of Windsor Canada. The bed was very confortable and it was the quietest hotel in a large city we have ever slept in, my husband loved it and the vintage charm.
The booking said "most rooms" have a view of the river and Canada, which in fact many do not. We were first given a standard room on the 2nd floor that had been renevated but had not been prepped to receive guests, not TV, Internet, phone service connected and no towels or bathroom supplies. My husband spoke to the front desk and they apologized for their error and moved us to a beautiful 3rd floor suite with sitting room overlooking the Detroit river, the riverwalk and the Canadian views that were perfect at no additional cost. The food in the restaurant is good quality, however the menu is fairly limited and you have to pay with credit card or cash at each meal as you can not charge to your room bill.
Location only....nice river walk
Customer service was horrible. The room was dirty and my room wasn't made up when I returned from a day out. Front desk staff didn't seem to really care when I brought it to their attention. The next day, the cleaning person went through my personal items to retrieve a complimentary body lotion instead of replacing it with a new one. He or she also retrieved the complimentary shampoo and conditioner from the shower.
i loved the view
We had to be moved two times due to problems with our room we stayed for four nights and didnt like the fact that we had to pack up that many times
Location, parking and hotel.
Ni microwave or refrigerator. Even cheaper hotels have that in their hotels. Come on.
Bathroom door would not shut.
More value for your money.
Locaiton on the Detroit River couldn't have been better; the food and room service were great; loved the downstairs bar...and the staff.
Couldn't get my drapes to close properly.
Not a cookie cutter hotel. Great decor and beautiful views of the water front.
Wifi was not great.
Good location, close to restaurants and everything else. Bed was super comfortable and so were pillows. Asked for an extra pillow and it was no problem at all. Only bad thing is we got there at a little after 2pm and they were pretty strict about check ins after 3pm when other places we have stayed checked to see if our room was ready and let us in a little early but not this place. Other then that excellent
Not being able to check in a little early
The location was close enough that we could walk to GreekTown and it only took about 30 minutes to get from the hotel to Ford Field.
On their website it states they have a shuttle, but when you arrive they will tell you it was out of service. There was also no clock, and if you wanted to make your room hot/cold you had to monkey with the thermostat. A lot of what they had listed for room amenities was not there.
The look of the hotel is great. High ceilings, huge windows, beautiful view of the river. We didn't interact with staff much, but when we did, they were very nice.
The walls are very thin. We were right next to the elevator, so there was lots of noise with groups coming and going. Also, the wifi/cell service was terrible. (But I don't think this is completely the fault of the hotel, just an fyi for people planning to stay here.)
The view, the size of the room, and it was clean!!!!!
The staff did not know how to explain themselves. Everyone should be on the same accord. Our bed skirt in our room was very unpleasant. The cover to the vent in the top of the ceiling was missing.
The river view/river walk The Staff's efforts to accommodate with what (little) they're giving to work with And again (and most important...THE VIEW OF THE RIVER)
Discontinued continental breakfast No coffee makers in room (WHAT???) Ice machine room - dingy and dirty No menus for room service Location of kitchen in basement- dark and mysterious looking
I loved the character of the building and the location right along the river. The staff was incredible.
