The look of the hotel is great. High ceilings, huge windows, beautiful view of the river. We didn't interact with staff much, but when we did, they were very nice.
The walls are very thin. We were right next to the elevator, so there was lots of noise with groups coming and going. Also, the wifi/cell service was terrible. (But I don't think this is completely the fault of the hotel, just an fyi for people planning to stay here.)
The view, the size of the room, and it was clean!!!!!
The staff did not know how to explain themselves. Everyone should be on the same accord. Our bed skirt in our room was very unpleasant. The cover to the vent in the top of the ceiling was missing.
The river view/river walk The Staff's efforts to accommodate with what (little) they're giving to work with And again (and most important...THE VIEW OF THE RIVER)
Discontinued continental breakfast No coffee makers in room (WHAT???) Ice machine room - dingy and dirty No menus for room service Location of kitchen in basement- dark and mysterious looking
I loved the character of the building and the location right along the river. The staff was incredible.
Cool, quirky building. Generally nice staff. Lots of marble. Beautiful room.
Isolated location. Not much in terms of amenities. Poorly lit room.
The hotel was beautiful and check-in was a breeze. The staff was great to myself and my young son, which was nice considering some people don't like children. The atmosphere was lovely and the view was spectacular. The rooms were suprisingly roomy as was the bathroom. Amenities were a nice brand, not some cheap off-brand.
There wasn't a lot of available parking spots and at one point I actually had to wait until another car pulled out. The Hotel was clean, but definitely had a lived-in feel.
First of all the bathroom got stopped up call the front desk to ask could I be switched to a different room switch me to a different room because maintenance was not able to come up to at 90026and when she gave me a different room the room were a king size which I needed to king size it was just very rude
The staff were friendly and really accommodating, the Riverwalk was pleasant and enjoyable and the room was absolutely lovely.
I loved the view. The food was absolutely delicious room service and restaurant! ! The bed was comfortable.
It was a clean hotel but the windows needed to be cleaned. It would have made my view that much more beautiful.
Beautiful views of Detroit river and river walk.
Great hotel, just need to be updated with newer furniture, paint, etc.
Husband said the omlet was great.
like a few more choices on the general menu.
I like the staff ,Danyall front desk agent was very nice and knowledgeable of the city and restaurants in the area. I enjoyed being near the water for morning walks on Detroit river walk. The hotel room was spacious with 12ft ceiling and very comfortable bed with a view of the water . This hotel is located off the beat and path which I really love. Previous guest stated parking was limited , however I didn't have a problem parking at all .I would highly recommend Roberts River walk Hotel to everyone I know .The area was very quiet and I notice security present during the night. I would consider this hotel a diamond in the rough. If you are tired of the change hotels , give this neighborhood feel hotel a chance.
I wasn't able to connect to Wifi, however I didn't mention it because I was on the go thee entire trip.
First time stay..We arrive on what have must have been a slow weekend. We were the only couple checking in. Our reservation was a little difficult for the person to find but she was very apologetic. Once it was found, she made up for the slip by putting us in a terrific room overlooking the river and away from the Friday night restaurant activities. Be sure to ask for these options. The architecture of the building and the rooms are very interesting and impressive. It felt as if we stepped back in time and being treated to very unique experience. The location on the Riverwalk was very safe and busy with people enjoying a walk along the water, jogging, and bike riding. A very vibrant atmosphere. In addition the the hotel cafe/restaurant there is dining within walking distance.
Does it come with a free breakfast? No one mentioned it when we arrived but it is offered as an amenity on the website and I didn't think to ask.
Beautiful old building, formerly a pharmaceutical company's corporate headquarters. The room was ample with lovely old mouldings. We had a beautiful view of the Detroit River and the riverwalk. The bed was very comfortable, and the hotel was very quiet. Hotel provided refreshing cucumber ice water in the lobby.
The hotel needs a bit of upgrading and maintenance, but it was nothing that affected our stay appreciably. Our faucet leaked and the doors to the bathroom and the closet were a bit off their hinges.
My cable was fuzzy, but that was probably an isolated issue.
If you enjoy watching the big boats on the river, this is the place for you, but don't come with high expectations for anything else about this hotel.
Although they advertise in room coffee, they only had decaf and were out of regular for my entire stay. They skipped cleaning the room one day. All the front desk staff, despite apparently being native English speakers, spoke such poor English I couldn't understand much of what they said. Overall, the entire property is in need of remodeling.
Location on the Riverwalk in a area that seems to be rebranding itself. Historic architecture. Nightlife on site. Quiet hallways and big rooms.
In room coffee maker wasn't equipped with the right coffee making supplies. Tub wouldn't drain quickly. Electrical outlet didn't work and another one didn't have a cover (safety issue?)
WHen we checked in my spouse is handicap & the staff made sure that we were comfortable. The hotel is amazing we love the fact that it sit right off the water so our river view room made every night romantic..The food & drunk were also great...I will definitely stay again when we are in the area
Not enough parking
River views, bed was great
Very little parking, noisy heating/cooling, some things needed repair, pillows were uncomfortable.
The location was beautiful. The staff were friendly and efficient.
Nice clean room very close to down town Detroit. It seemed like your one stop for room and food.
No vending machines.
Location! On the river. Park-like setting. Pleasant, courteous staff.
Door handle broken on closet door. Conversion from Parke Davis laboratories to hotel still awkward; entrance doesn't accommodate suitcases. Downstairs gloomy, spartan.
Location is intriguing as part of the district off Joseph Campau and being right on the river. Interesting facility as converted from corporate offices. Comfortable room, good bed and bathroom.
Arriving at night, parking area is confusing to navigate; basically had to create a space -- and there isn't enough of it. Would have made use of shuttle if hours weren't so limited. We were in Detroit for the jazz festival and would have used it to be transported to hotel at night. Room where breakfast was served -- the bar/lounge -- is a little austere for that purpose.
The location of the hotel, right on the river with the breezes blowing and the view was amazing. The staff was extremely helpful and very professional. While we were there, they had a Jazz night and the music was great! I will stay there again.
The directions, on line, were incorrect and very confusing. Also, this hotel doesn't have the continental breakfast that the description on line said it did. Also, the prices in the restaurant and bar were totally outrageous.
I like the reasonable price and location.
I didn't care for the other guest and visitors making consistent loud noises until, almost 3 am outside and no one asking them to lower their voice or leave the premises. Also, one of the customer representative consistently calling our room about checking out when we reserved the room for two days. And check out based on website and booking.com was at 12 pm noon. Parking was difficult to find and the shuttle bus service begin at 9 am and end at 9 pm but no one was scheduled to replace the driver who called in. Plus, they were well to drop us off, but not pick us up after 9 pm. However, they were willing to give you a taxi cab number to call and wait for after the concert and football game which did not make sense why would anyone take a shuttle to be stranded and left somewhere waiting on a taxi cab in an area they aren't familiar with??? This hotel has so much potential but the lack of investment in staffing the place with staff, suitable parking space rather than parking anywhere and on the lawn of the hotel, furnishings the rooms with update scenery, security, and suitable dining area and hours!! They are failing to capitalizing on this gem of a location and hotel!!
