Room was huge and had a great view of the river. There was an outdoor bar/patio with music. Used the free shuttle to go to Comerica Park. Late night delivery as well.
Very expensive for not even having a pool/hot tub. Walls are thin.
The staff were super willing to help us be comfortable!
There was a very raunchy bath mat. And there was no continental breakfast.
Hotel has minimal parking. Located in rough area. Hotel needs TLC. Lots of scratches..dings and loose plumbing features. Pictures don't show how it is in a rough area.
This place was so nice, me and my husband had a chance to walk along the river at night while listening to some great music that was being played on the hotel patio. I recommend this place to everyone.
Excellent location for runners, walkers, and bikers!
Only two towels per room!
The relaxed atmosphere.
The location of the ice machine.
Lakeview it's the best !
The bed was super comfortable and I slept very well.
The shower drain was clogged and I was standing in water up to my ankles by the time I finished taking a shower. It was gross.
The view of the Lake.
What I didn't like or appreciate was how we had to change to another room because of ants taking over, things missing out the room that was suppose to be in the room when we checked in and had to keep asking for it because they forgot, cable not working in our room but a cord running from our tv to the next room, they were watching tv, we were told nothing they can do to fix our tv. We couldn't wait for morning so we can check out of here. Here is the big one, we went to the football game and Riverwalk Hotel shuttle bus took a van full to the game, they knew we were all there visiting because of the game, not only did we get dropped off in the middle of the street, they lied saying the shuttle bus was on the way to pick us up after the game, we waited 2 hours, they never showed up,they stopped answering the telephone. Once we returned to the hotel after we had to flag down a cab. I ask what happen and the front desk lied and said that the shuttle bus just got back because they couldn't get through the street. No need to speak with the manager, she knew what was going on, and how the hotel is operating, she was there through the complaints. The shuttle bus was never moved and for it to have just gotten back, the hood shouldn't be so cold. Why would you leave us all stranded like that, you should have told us it's a possibility that you wan't coming back then we could have took our own cars and paid for parking then that way you didn't have to take us for us to be stranded visiting your town and hotel. Do you actually think if you told us all that we wasn't getting picked up that we wouldn't take our cars? I wouldn't go back to this hotel if I won a free night. I had other choices and would have paid more for a better experience.
The price was ok.
The entire place was outdated. The furniture in the rooms were scratched and chipped. It looked like the hotel from the movie the shining. Carpets were probably 30 years old
The staff made my stay felt as if I was home great people at the front desk Michelle Irener and Omari they all were so helpful and give excellent services. The room was great with a view of the river
The cost compared to other hotels in the area
Air conditioner didn't work so it was a sauna and couldn't sleep, tv only had 1 channel, continental breakfast was mini muffins and danish that were not good and only the late night front desk clerk was friendly. Was told that the tv would be fixed and when it wasn't didn't even bother with the air conditioning. No view of the river either like it was advertised. And the last is the shuttle only takes you downtown it will not bring you back so take money for a cab.
Overall it was a great experience.
Breakfast was good
Staff trying to squeeze as much out of us as possible! Try and make us check out early bothering us!
The view, location and the room set-up. OMG!!!!! O utstanding!!! M agnificent!!! G reat!!!
That we had to leave
It's on the Detroit Riverwalk which is beautiful. You can walk 2 miles to the Renaissance Center, very nice. You actually keep walking all the way to Joe Louis Arena. We saw one security car patroling the Riverwalk.
The Hotel itself is off the beaten path. We were told by hotel personnel & taxi driver do not walk around on the streets, not safe. Hotel is in a historic building, room was okay, it was clean though so since that's at the top of my list it good. The bed was poor, needs to be replaced with higher quality, woke up with back ache. Parking was minimal. No valet. The only reason we stayed here was the entire city was booked because of the Tiger game & Kenny Chesny concert & Weddings, so this was out last choice so we took it. Wouldn't go back. Check-in was slow, staff was nice.
No wifi!!! Cell phone use is very poor or none at all. Other hotels there not an issue, I couldnt use my phone at all if you have metro and sprint I was told. I felt like I was on an island with no communication... The hotel is nice just needs some dusting and rugs needs shampoo...it was dark and musty feeling...
I found this hotel on booking.com and of course checked here for everyone elses review before I booked, I was a bit nervous as some people had said bad things - I mainly ended up staying here based on price as I didn't want to be spending over $150 as I was only staying 1 night and booking had a good deal. The location of the hotel was a bit out of the way of the main city area and the public transport was an absolute night mare so I ended up walking back and forwards to the city - it took about half an hour each way. My room was fine - my only complaint would be that I only got one pillow but by the time I had realised I didn't really want to trek back to the front desk as it was late. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful - we asked to leave our luggage there twice and for a ride to the station and they we're more than accommodating on both requests. On the way back to the bus station the driver even took us on a little detour to Michigan Station as we'd not had a chance to see it. There were no food options I saw in the immediate vicinity (I didn't try the hotels bar) but there was an iHop and some convenience stores up on the main road (Jefferson) about 10 minutes walk. I'd definitely stay here again.
I asked for a room on a high floor facing the river when I booked. I got the 2nd floor facing a car park so perhaps mention it again once you get to the desk
that the river was in back of the hotel and that you could go for a walk along side by the river
that my room was in back of the hotel and I didn't like the parking
Attractive site and quaint location. Facilities have potential.
Room needed repair...soap dish was missing in the shower leaving a rusty hole in the wall, coffee maker was missing although we had coffee cups. Elevators took for ever. Front desk was confusing and they didn't have our booking information creating a 30 minute plus check in experience when we were the only ones there.
Perfect location if your in town for an event @ Chene Park. Patio overlooks the water- strong point of the hotel.
Antiquated furniture (same furniture from when it was the Omni), dusty, dirty windows, dirty sheets.
No air conditioning No refund or discounts for no A/ C No real front desk Chaotic at check in- did not seem prepared for busy day.
The style of the hotel. It is old with a wide staircase (if you don't want to use the elevator). The location on the River walk is lovely. Rooms are spacious with nice views.
Mold around the bathtub. Had trouble getting bath towels. They had trouble finding my reservation through booking.com even though I had made the reservation 3 months prior.
Neighborhood was pretty bad!
Really enjoyed the riverfront view!!
Small bathtub and tiny nets flying around was kind of annoying! !
