The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. The door man made us feel very welcome and safe in a neighborhood with lots of foot traffic.

For our first visit to New York we wanted to do it properly and the Hotel on Rivington was fantastic from start to finish! We were well looked after by all the staff and it offered everything we wanted. A Room with a stunning view of the city, a soft bed and in a great part of town.

the room was great but some of the finishings around light switches, plug sockets and fittings were a little shabby. The overall service was superb however the breakfast menu hadn't been updated on the room service cards so ordering room service was a slight hassle when it should have been a luxury.

Spacious room; enjoyed the living room-like bar/sitting area; great morning coffee!!

Could use brighter lighting and a small console table for laying out electronics/wallet/jewelry.

Room was a king and on 9th floor with good space and very comfortable bed and huge Japanese style tub. Minibar is amazingly well stocked and the 'babe station' goodies are a fun idea.

Room service not the best but it didn't really matter to us.

I was there once, In August with my 14 year old daughter not knowing what to expect as reservations were made for me by an employee. I loved the hotel then, it was very easy to deal with, simple and charming without distractions. Easy to get in and out to the street, accessible, the rooms are the size you need to get things done, the beds are the most comfortable and I am a spoiled 5 star bad sleeper, the views are amazing, the staff is sweet, polite and everyone has a nice look in their eyes. No bs behind those eyes. I was there again this weekend to attend my other daughter's 21yr old bday at the Standart in the Meat Packing District. I could have stayed there but I didn't feel the need to change, so I stayed at the Hotel On Rivington with my fiance and we had the best corner view, the most comfortable bed, towels, linens are my favorite and the toiletries. I don't really go for the fancy glitz of other places, that doesn't help you sleep or have fun. No paintings, no crown moulding, only what works is there and that is what works for me and my fiance agrees. This HOtel is welcoming, says hello and you feel at home, no weirdness or bad energy..

I didn't like that I had to leave.. I love that place.. It says hello.

Comfortable bed

Very dark hallways, wierd entry with no signage announcing the hotel (we walked right by it), the worst possible view NY has to offer (a roof top that looks like a homeless person lives there), so noisy that we did not sleep all night.

I loved the Hotel on Rivington. From the entry way to the rooms, to the decor, to the knowledgeable staff, everything was a pleasure. When we arrived, they upgraded us to a high room with an incredible view for a nominal charge. It was really fun to stay in the Lower East Side and experience a different New York. The Bell Boys were the best part of the visit-they were lots of fun to talk to and gave great recommendations for food and entertainment.

The location was ideal. Lower East Side is a really vibrant area full of bars and restaurants and great for escaping from the really touristy parts of the city, but also within easy reach of them. The room was very comfortable with a superb bed and bathroom. The toiletries were lovely and we were upgraded to a room with a huge tub which was blissful after a day of pavement stomping! The hairy pouffe in the room was also a source of much amusement! All the staff were delightful - helpful and attentive - and the doormen were always ready with a smile and information if we needed it. The views from the room were outstanding - it was a corner room so we could see the Empire State building and the new World Trade that is under construction and being on 15th floor, we were well away from noise and high enough up to get a really good view of everything. We will definitely return.

We had a balcony which I had hoped we would be able to sit on but it was a metal thing bolted on to the building and felt a bit of an afterthought. Not very conducive to relaxation! If you don't like heights, the glass walls might make you feel a bit queasy but the light is magical

The location is great - step right out the door and down the street to restaurants and great places to catch a drink outside and people watch. The staff were helpful and friendly and there was a certain cool factor to the design and layout of the hotel. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the room was a good size and comfortable, too. There was not as much noise as hotels we've previously stayed at in mid-town.

However, I would say that the hotel (only 6 or 7 years old) has not stood the test of time - things (walls, floors) look worn, the bathroom door handle fell off and cracked the tile floor (it had obviously happened several times because the floor was already damaged in a number of spots and, most annoyingly, the wireless internet connection was awful (though the hotel staff said they were about to change providers so were trying to fix the problem). Overall, the value was good but not great - that all said, we would consider staying again because of the room and location and good staff. But only if they have fixed the internet connection.... We recommend but with conditions/explanation to our friends.

Leaving!

First, I had asked Booking ,Com for a hotel neae nyu Law School and this was 3 miles away and took 75 minutes to get too. My friends stayed at Washington Square for a lot less and within a block of the school! I left them at 9:55pm and didn't get to the Hotel on Rivington until 11:15pm as it is extremely hard to find as the hotel is above retail stores. Not to mention road work forced you into New Jersey to get onto the right side of the road! Room was very darkly lit and the bed was about 18" off the ground. Just like the charis and table in the bar for breakfast.In 30 (+) years of traveling this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at especially for $300 (+) for the night!

Rooms were spartan yet quite large for a NY hotel. For the price and hype I expected quite a bit more. There is quite a bit of street noise into the wee hours of the morning which was surprising.

The rooms are large with extremely comfortable beds, the staff are lovely and the little gym useful

Friday and Saturday nights are noisy until around 4am

The room was quite noisy. We heard the club below and people on the street late into the night.

The bed was like sleeping on a cloud it was sooooo nice the views were mind blowing it was beautiful both day and night the room it self was just beautiful we loved it

Wasn't too crazy about the shower with that window cause I felt like people can see me and wasn't too Happy the back wall which was frosted glass well you can see the person showering felt like I had no privacy in that part...the AC was a bit tricky to get right at first come night time the noise level went up but it was ok the mini bar was nice but way over priced we ended up going across the street for the same things for dirt cheap

Fantastic! The concierge's are very helpful, information and friendly. Great location and amazing rooms.

No tea and coffee making facilities in the room

Location near Delancey St station for most trains, close to Chinatown, Little Italy. Rooms were well appointed, good linens. Staff is friendly and helpful. Good closet space, nice to have a balcony. Lower East Side is a lovely neighborhood with a deversity of shopping, food and local restaurants.

Restaurant has loud very loud music and food wasn't great. It felt like a hotel for very young people in an area with lots of bars and nightlife. That may be a good thing for some, but as an older woman traveling alone, I wasn't especially comfortable.

Geweldig personeel doen er alles aan om je tevreden te stellen. Service is fantastisch. Ontzettend leuke buurt , vlakbij soho, nolita. Veel te doen in de omgeving. Subway om de hoek. Als je hoog logeert heb je een geweldig uitzicht

We zijn 2 jaar geleden ook al eens in Rivington geweest sommige zaken zijn een beetje ''sleets'' en hebben onderhoud nodig. Bijvoorbeeld gordijnrailsen, schilderwerk
