The location and the concierge staff were great . Comfy bed and good TV.
Very dark bedroom and minimalist bathroom. On returning to hotel at midnight thirty on a Friday night could not get a drink as bar already shut. Not enough staff for breakfast.
This was my 3rd or 4th stay at nylo. Staff is great! Location perfect. Lobby is very cool and European. Rooms are nice and comfortable but wood floors a bit chilly.
When you pay over $300 per night for a room it would be really nice to have a real glass in my room instead of little flimsy plastic cups. I bring them from the lobby bar but housekeeping does not ever take them away. Strange! Would also be nice to eat at the lobby bar with a real fork and knife. I do hate plastic.Seems strange for such a nice hotel. Was enjoying some chicken wings and my fork broke. Just not cool!!
I stayed at NYLO the weekend before Thanksgiving, in a Lifestyle Loft on the 16th floor. While the room was a nice drive and had a great view, many amenities had not been cleaned, not were they maintained. The curtain for the large balcony window was dusty, and could hardly be moved around the home of the balcony door -- an unfortunate design flaw. One of the light fixtures next to the bed was broken (that surely attributed somewhat to the room price.) In the bathroom, three of the six assorted white towels provided were stained. In addition, the bathroom smelled of weed the entire time, which must have been coming through the vent from someone else's room, but nonetheless, was very unpleasant. Overall, the accommodations were overpriced for the value, and I'd likely stay elsewhere if I were to return to the upper west side.
Really comfortable bed and pillows, great bar area, helpful staff. Good location, away from the chaos but only by a 5/10 min walk.
Paper thin interconnecting door to next room - could hear everything going on!
Staff were great
Ventilation noise & vibration ruined our stay
In a tight bind with nowhere to stay due to airline issues. We were taken care extremely well.
Room size was nice, bed very comfortable.
Hallways smelled musty!
Close to the "no baggage" exit of the NYC Marathon Comfortable bed
I requested a quiet room, but they assigned me a room that was quite noisy. My room 1114 had a door connecting it to another room 1115 (which was locked), however, I could see light coming through AND clearly hear their TV and conversations. It was irritating the night before the NYC Marathon to hear them turn their TV on at 11:45PM!!! I was trying to sleep and had to call down to the front desk TWICE to ask them to send someone to tell the neighbors to be quiet.
I liked being in walking distance to Lincoln Center for the Film Festival. Transportation and location is great for the museums across Central Park and for Broadway theaters. The Serafina restaurant in the hotel is terrific, and very comfortable for informal meals at convenient hours. Hotel staff very accommodating.
Really, I have no complaints!
Staff are helpful and friendly. Bed was excellent!
Single glazed windows, esp in bathroom meant it was noisy and pretty chilly. Bathrooms should have additional heatin for winter months.
The room was a typical New York size but very clean. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the bar and the restaurant. Great area on the upper west side near lots of restaurants and shops. Easy access to the subway.
A beautiful hotel close to the major NYC museums and the subway. Very efficient and helpful staff. I'll stay there each time I visit the city.
I liked that my dog was treated, thereby us, a as guests. In other hotels, dogs are treated as a second thought or regarded as a problem but NYLO staff treated my baby like the baby he is.
Nothing! I loved it!
The hotel is in a GREAT location and the staff could not have been better and friendlier . . . especially for NYC. Really enjoyed the stay.
Too expensive for what you get when you have the regular room rate. One night was discounted for us, and that was DEFINITELY worth the price.
Decor and the vibe was enjoyable
Room was extremely small and cramped-no upgrade available.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were clean and modern. It was a good location, close to the natural history museum, a subway line, and a 24 hour CVS store.
We were offered an adjoined room as we were checking in an hour early and our room wasn't ready, so we happily accepted. Unfortunately we soon realised we could hear our neighbours as clearly as if they were in the room with us. On the second night we had to ask to move as the guests next to us were too loud. The staff were really helpful and got us set up in a new room straight away (at midnight!)
Best bit was the bar and lounge area, very stylish and comfortable with relaxed staff. The bed was also the best we have ever had in a hotel but it looks funny when you walk into the room as it's so high.
Our room had a connecting door to the next room that had no sound proofing at all. At 6.30am it sounded like the next door guests were actually in our room, they were only speaking normally not even shouting. Make sure you have a separate room.
Very comfortable beds and friendly staff
When we arrived they didn't have a room with a king size bed ready as we had booked and it was going to be a 4-5 hour wait for that so we had to take a room with a queen. Not the end of the world but we were tired from travelling and really excited for the king size bed so it was a little disappointing.
The quality of the staff. The incredibly good bed. The complimentary glass of Champagne at 5 pm... The location.
The quality of the bathroom. The stainless steel sink was not very convenient.
Staff and bar tenders were great! Very helpful. First time in New York City and it was amazing.
We liked the room and the hotel in general. Very clean, friendly staff, nice rooms and roomy for NYC hotels. Good location in the Upper West Side and subway access to sights and shopping
Modern yet cozy; you feel great to come back "home" after walking around all day long; the bar at the lobby is inviting and funny yet doesn't disturb who wants to sleep
The bed is too soft; little noisy after 8 a.m. due to maid's work
Location is best thing about this hotel... I think if you're a single business traveler, this hotel would probably meet expectations.
Probably the smallest hotel room my husband and I have stayed in...nice king bed but no sitting area and no bureaus; small desk set-up with chair only and locker room closet; room set-up similar to what you'd find in a dorm room...great location but for price we paid, I expected more; will definitely seek out other hotels first before staying here again.
- location - excellent bedding - new decoration - rooftop terrasse
- no minibar in room - tiny bathroom - soundproofing inefficient
Location & bar.
Bathroom was a little generic. Wifi not free.
