Location and staff very friendly and helpful.
Internet was a signup service. Was free but needed personal information. Bed was only ok.
We liked it all!
Every employee was wonderful and polite. They made me feel so welcome. My daughter said, "I think that we should stay at that hotel every time we go to Boston." Every person was so nice and helpful.
room too small
The efficiency and professionalism of staff
No free wifi! You will have to pay 13 dollars a day. Hard to believe this....
Location. Staff very helpful.
The free wine and appetizers for happy hour was a nice touch
Road construction outside hotel but not the hotels fault
Very pleasant staff. Very convenient to TD Garden. Room very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you.
Just one minor suggestion. If possible, it would be nice to have a coffee/tea maker in the room.
Good location, walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go
No view, A/C outside our window was turning on and off all night, complained and got discount. Street out front is not good and very expensive for what you got.
Lovely decor, close to everything, very friendly helpful staff.
Wifi was a bit hit or miss
close to all major amenities super friendly staff attention to all details refillable shampoo and conditioner
location of toilet roll holder- it should be in front of the toilet ( not beside)
The front desk was friendly and helpful! The decor is very cool. The rooms are nice and the furniture is awesome. Bed was comfy.
The street was under construction. I didn't hear any noise though thankfully. A hostel or shelter is around the corner with scary homeless people.
Location excellent, can hop onto subway and go anywhere. Comfortable, updated room, they provided rollaway as requested. Free coffee in morning. Love Boston!
Unfortunately sidewalk was under construction but not Onyx's fault. Shower was a little hard to adjust water temp (ouch,) and the towels are hard to reach (high at the end of the shower.) Pricey breakfast restaurant.
Location was great, room was nice but small.
Parking fee was expensive. No Wi-Fi in room.
It was our honeymoon, the hotel stuff gave us a desert and champagne. They were so kind. The management also upgraded our room with a penthouse. The room was big and clean. Thanks again :)
The wifi isnt free!
Quality of staff and approach to customer service. Hotel is in a good location with most destinations within walking distance.
The staff was outstanding. Great location, close to TD Garden, North Station, Freedom Trail, Quincy Market. Lots of great restaurants and shopping in the North End.
Loved the decor at this hotel; not over styled, but tasteful and practical. We had a slightly difficult experience as the air-conditioning in our room was faulty and as the hotel was full they could not move us until the second night, so our first night was a bit uncomfortable. However the staff were lovely, especially the doorman from Morocco, but the reception staff too and we were only charged for 1 day's parking in compensation. The first room was very spacious, the second slightly less so, but still big enough for 4 people. The internet worked well in the second room. We loved the location (The North End), which is not a residential area so quiet in the evening, but very close to Faneuil Hall, the waterfront and other interesting sights.
I have to preface this by saying that we still really liked this hotel and think that any problems we had were unusual or down to teething. Apart from the fact that the air-conditioning didn't work and the internet was terrible in our first room, we had a problem with the accounts department. We had booked through Booking.com on the basis that we would pay at the hotel, but there was a mix-up and my card was debited prior to our arrival and I didn't notice until 10 days later when I got home. This was annoying because of the way I had budgeted to pay for our holiday, but after a few emails the hotel corrected the mistake and debited the card we had wanted to use.
I had read hundreds of reviews before deciding to book the Onyx. One traveler mentioned the smell of the hotel which I thought was odd . . . Well, I wanted to leave, just so I could re-enter! The lobby smells like white tea leaves, at least to me. The rooms are relatively small but very updated and clean. Staff is wonderful. Can't wait for a reason to to stay at the Onyx again!
Not one thing!
Everything else, especially access to public transportation
The surrounding of the hotel is a bit messy, probably due to weekend
Staff and service was wonderful.
The room was a little smaller than I expected and the view was nonexistent.
Staff were excellent, professional but very friendly.
No tea/coffee making facilities in room.
People were friendly and helpful
location-had trouble getting to Portland Street and taking the right up the one way street.
Perfectly located, very nice staff and lovely room
Not free wi-fi
