Confort of the bed and calm of the room.
Comfortable, luxurious, fabulous, CLEAN!
I realize that the price of the rooms at the hotel is based on the location , nyc, close to Manhattan, etc. I think I would be willing to pay a little more for more options at the Continental Breakfast. Eggs& pancakes or diy waffle machine is always appreciated. It's great that there were hard boiled eggs available but you need to remind the person who is putting out the breakfast to make sure they put the boiled eggs directly into cold water right after removal from stove so that they can be peeled easily. We had to waste most of the egg because of that. We would love to see those additions: Waffle maker or pancakes, eggs and sausage or bacon. Definitely worth paying a little more for these added amenities
The staff were great, the breakfast was good, the bed was really comfortable, really good value for money.
The air con was a little noisy, but we got used to it and it didn't disturb our sleep
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The way the room was set up it was huge. I was traveling by myself so they always seemed to be looking out for me.
The neighborhood is not the best but if you can overlook that minor fact, than there's nothing to complain about.
The missing parking area
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room (a deluxe with 2 queen beds) was very roomy. Mexiconza Taqueria next door had excellent mexican food.
* Neighborhood is not clean and smells, * "Invisible" mosquitoes bit us and we had stinging sensations for more than a day * Our room was on third floor. We started hearing low frequency low volume thumps around 11pm - these felt like a diesel engine vibration; later we were told that these may be due to the fitness center next door - we learnt later that this fitness center had an excercise floor directly above our room.
We loved this hotel and we will stay here again on our next visit to NYC. The area is safe, the employees act like they LOVE their jobs and the hotel has a special kind of charm since it was once a theater. Thank you for allowing us to stay with you and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.
That we could not stay longer.
Great staff, clean rooms and a good free breakfast
No free wifi and traffic noises at night
Maybe more safety
The service. The staff. The complimentary breakfast The cleanliness of the hotel.
The location The limited and cramped parking spaces.
- Excellent staff - Overall Excellent Appearance - Overall Excellent Cleanliness - Very Secure Inside of Hotel - Good Breakfast - Excellent Coffee Machine - Housekeeping Overall Good: Other than two events, excellent. - When you need a cab, the desk has one there in less than a minute or two most times. - Very quiet IF you are in a back-facing room.
- Housekeeping: (A) We stayed about 12 days the first time and had to ask to have our bed linens changed-out; (B) My wife was a bit creeped-out to find a pair of men's shoes under our bed - Location: Great for access BUT ... do NOT walk those streets at night. Ladies do not go to the subway except daylight hours. Several Police Officers, who visit the hotel and do paper work upstairs, have some coffee, etc., (A) literally picked up a woman and her daughter at the subway in the early evening, chided them, and drove them back to the hotel for safety, (B) several Police Officers told me never, ever to walk the local streets after dark; ever. A quote: "Whatever it is you need, it can wait until morning." Go directly from front door of hotel and get into a cab. I walked the streets on the first visit, venturing to local markets for supplies / needs; the Police politely chided me in a way that was courteous but, if you turned it into street talk would mean: "Are you freaking NUTS?" :-) - The Front Desk will tell you it's safe to walk the street at night, which is not true. I believe they think it is, being from there ... but no less than 5 Police Officers, one a Lieutenant, told me otherwise. Otherwise, loved the front desk folks allot! - If you want a continuous night's sleep, do NOT get a front-side room! Traffic and sirens awakened us allot! The first stay we were in the back, and it was so quiet!
The staff was AMAZINGLY friendly and helpful. Very comfortable accommodations and great continental breakfast!
Our room was a little noisy with the fitness center's air conditioning and from the street.
Duke, receptionist was a great help, love him, staff is very helpfull, nice clean hotel.good breakfast, good bed, much room...just all
I was very impressed and my expectations were exceeded at the Opera House Hotel. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Every part if the hotel was pristine.
Nothing I didn't like. I would go back again.
Everything was really good from staff, food and sleep. I would come back next time definitely.
the rooms are pretty big
Charming staff, nice breakfast, large and comfortable rooms. Access to the metro in 3 mn. Try the mexican restaurant next door, it is a great place.
Don't worry about the Bronx area: the hotel is only 3 mn walk from the metro, so you won't walk long and those streets are rather safe.
The staff was very helpful. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The front desk clerk , Andrew, helped us by arraigning our taxi, and showing us menus where to eat. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. If your going to a Yankee's game the stadium is about one mile away. We would stay again.
The only draw back was that they didn't have a hair dryer, like some hotels, in the room. Also if you wanted WiFi you had to pay for it.
The receptionists are awesome! Please say thank you to Andrew for me!!!
The cleanliness of the hotel and friendly staff.
I liked everything about it.
nice Staff price to quality good connection to the centre through publc transport good breakfast
a bit far from the centre not sure abotu the safty in this area
the room is just like home away from home
check out time
There was very friendly and helpful staff (Duke especially). They assisted me with anything I needed. The rooms are very clean and well decorated and the view isn't your typical skyline view, but after all it is the Bronx. Besides that the breakfast was great and they had a variety of food. From different types of freshly brewed coffees, to muffins, to New York style bagels. Transportation was also very convenient because of how close subway stations and taxis were. There are also many other stores nearby for your daily needs! Costumer Service was great!
