Orchard Hotel    

We loved the location, nice bed, good shower, lifts were quick to arrive.

The parking was really expensive, we only realised that it wasn't included in the cost after booking. We later found a good value car-park very nearby at Stockton.

The doorman David was extremely helpful and gave us many good suggestions. The hotel is near the main shopping district in San Francisco as well as quite a few good, but inexpensive restaurants.

- fitness center is basic, but could have a couple of weight lifting machines

The Orchard Hotel is an excellent value: centrally located, clean, helpful staff, and our room was quiet. I will definitely stay here again.

My only complaint is that when we returned to our room around 3:30 P.M.one day to relax, the room hadn't been cleaned. Other than that, we were very satisfied.

Great hotel - the location is very good - Bush street & Powell, close to chinatown and union square. The staff is very kind and the rooms are clean and well. The bed is so comfcomfortable we almost couldn't wake up in the morning. The breakfast is quite expensive but it's very good.

Location was perfect, room was comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, particularly the doormen who provided info on getting around and not to miss seeing the Golden Gate from Lands End on Sunday and where to get a quick Pizza near by.

Very quiet, clean, and spacious (for sf Union Square) room, that was close enough to union to square to make access to my meetings easy, but just far enough off the square to feel quiet, less rushed and less touristy. (Its really only a block off the square, very short and easy walk). The service was excellent, and the hotel very clean. Wifi was free and worked well. Next time I am in sf on business I will stay here. I have stayed at many other hotels in the Union Square area, but this has topped them all. I also thought the doorman was so kind and we talked about running every day :).

Lovely, intimate small hotel near Union Sq. very comfortable room, very quiet, excellent restaurant for breakfast. reasonably priced considering the options in downtown SF. terrific!

The hotel staff was very nice and were helpful with dinner ideas, transportation and whatever you needed. I have been to San Francisco many times, and this location was perfect. Right between Nob Hill and Union Square, a few blocks from China Town and Market Street. I will stay here again.

Poor room cleaning - not all the condiments we used each day were replaced, some days extra towels and flannels appeared for no obvious reason

The decor and actual room were wonderful, even luxurious.

There was loud noise (I was at the back of the building) I believe the restaurant was emptying recyclables and garbage twice at 1:30 and around 2:00. The noise woke me up and scared me. I did not have the windows open. Believe it or not I was thinking... earthquake? Coffee maker leaked. Coffee in the hallway is a better idea.

The Orchard Hotel is a gem. The rooms are spacious and very clean ... the bathroom was spotless and large ... and our night was quiet. This hotel is in a great location (hop on the cable car, walk to Chinatown or Union Square). A great value.
