Excellent location just across the road from the main beach.
Noisy and surrounded by highrises plus you're in one....but this is Waikiki! Good to get out and see other parts of the island where there are beautiful quieter beaches.
Convenient location. Pleasant breakfast with great scenery...the oceanarium
Arrived late..about 11.30...valet gone for the day. Had a connecting room with very noisy neighbors late into the early morning hours. All we wanted was a good nights sleep as we had been travelling all day.
Location was the best
Way over priced, found it to be just an ordinary hotel. All the added taxes made the stay so not worth it.
Location is great but they did not take care of our request. Plus they charge 20 per room a day only for amenites, really expensive BcZ they htl is a bit old
The hotel was steps from the beach, we walked to diamond head, and the zoo from here... Rooms were dated but still kept in good condition, staff was friendly and beds were super comfortable, if the price is right don't pass this up.
Parking is super expensive but it's the same everywhere
The wifi was good. The room had a balcony.
Overpriced. Definately not 4 stars. Terrible value for money and the concierge ripped us off. All in all not the best stay, would stay at the Hilton next time as it's around the same price but a lot nicer. This place hasn't been updated since the 1950's
Already said this in previous comment.
Not a bad experience, but I would say that the rooms need updating. Bathroom especially seemed somewhat dated and lacked that fresh, modern appeal you expect when paying this much for a room.
This hotel looks older--for this part I rate it 2.5 out of 5 stars; but it has the best location and our room has the most beautiful full ocean view and the price is relatively much cheaper in comparison to other hotels on Waikiki beach--for this part I rate it 10 out of 5 stars! If I ever come back again, I will stay in Pacific Beach Hotel again for sure.
I did not understand the "resort surcharge". This hotel is not a resort.Breakfast is average, staff are not very helpful.
The location in Waikiki, the happy and friendly staff, the Oceanarium restaurant and the comfort of the beds!
Nothing to dislike
Staff at front desk Overcharge for short stay Room handling
On the upside, our ocean front view was what was promised and the restaurant which provided room service was beyond my expectations. Their food was wonderful and service for the food was amazing.
I was charged the moment I arrived rather than when I left. When I was at the front desk checking in, I was told they would only charge me half, then the rest would be charged when I left. They charged me for the full six nights at the beginning then charged the security at the end. I was then told that it may take several days or weeks for the security charge to be refunded or hold lifted. I was charged more than the price I was originally quoted. (By $500) They've since continued to take out money without apprising me or getting further consent which has become a nightmare because I had given them the card to my checking rather than using an amex which I would normally use. I wanted to pay cash for the vacation. Now, I've had to call my bank several times. I spoke with them several times at the hotel and was never given a full explanation as to how they came up with numbers for services that were higher than what I agreed to. I've been given no help other than that's the way it is. I was charged occupancy tax, Hawaii State Tax, Amenity Fees, Amenity Hawaii State Tax. Needless to say, it's been a chore. Also, we signed up for several excursions while we were there. I have red hair and was badly sunburned and therefore couldn't go out for the last excursion. I was again told they could do nothing for me. I was asked how long I had the burn. It had only showed up the night before so, we were unable to get out of the excursion. Therefore, we paid $200 for something I could no longer do. We were offered no discounted amount. They kept the full amount without apologies. I was told if I had let them know about the burn earlier, they maybe could have assisted me on getting a refund. I told them as soon as I was aware. Then, there was the leaking on my head while I was getting ready at the vanity. I didn't bother to complain about that as we had already received zero assistance with complaints.
The room service provided was efficient, and timely.
Room was old and tired, oceanview was partial. Could be some chairs in the lobby.
The room, right size, clean, well equipped bathroom, beautiful oceanview from the 12 th floor. You cross the street , there is the beach. Close to everything, shopping, restaurants, if you are in a budget, a nice Mc Donalds with tables outside across the street .Multiple choices to go eat . A nice ice cream place next to the hotel cafe with tables outside.
We bought a Luau dinner show fir over $200, the show was very nice but I regret I didnt go to Germaines, on a private beach , see the sunset , and on living social you could get it for $45 each. ( reg price $90)
Just Bathroom is very old and smells bad
Friendly staff is what stood out
The location was a little out of the way
First time staying at this hotel, everything went well. Check in with ease, Front desk girl was very pleasant and helpful, Room was very comfortable and spacious. View was amazing of the ocean and mountain, with out Ocean View Room. Wish that this was our first choice of hotels while staying on Oahu during this trip.
The only thing that I could say that didn't go well, was that for the amount of rooms in our tower, it needs a little more elevators, had to wait a while for the elevators to get to the floors.
We really enjoyed our stay we wish it didn't end to soon, but until next time we thanks the staff.
The elevators took to long is like a 15 to 20 minutes wait.
The location was great. Right near everything.
The rooms were old need updated for price. Furniture and pictures over 25 years old. Air conditioner really old not the best. Looked like stepped back into 70s.
comfort of bed
Location and the view we had.
Bathroom was old.
Substantial extra costs for resort fees that come without any value to us and parking (we finally decided to walk 15 min to a free public parking location.) on top of the room rates, those fees are just irritating. Spoiled our impression of the stay that was otherwise really great!
Across the street from the beach. Central location. Aquarium inside the hotel. Had all amenities that I desired.
The hot-tub closed too early...should have stayed open later. One of the front desk reps was not knowledgable but all other front desk/staff members were extremely knowledgeable and helpful!
The view was awesome, got to have the ocean view!
Parking is high
