Location soon will be great. A little raw as far as the people that frequent that part of town.

The room was very comfortable. Excellent bedding and pillows. Quiet surroundings. Breakfasts were fabulous.

She even made some fresh sweet bread the night of our stay for all of the people staying> (yum!) >>We loved the bed * It is a very soft- cloud like bed for those who prefer a firmer bed- be warned! * >>We were never interrupted by any noise other than the fountain right outside our door which was actually very pleasant. ≫>The shower was large enough for two people which was nice and it is a walk- in shower so it does not have a bath tub which we actually prefer. ≫>Breakfast is also good. ≫>Enjoy complementary hot tea! * I recommend the vanilla flavored one.* >>Quiet and peaceful but in a great location! Walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants and also the beach boardwalk! Would love to go back again!

≫>Room had a "fireplace" style heater which is nice but a little noisy. ≫>Does not have bathtub, is a walk in shower, some people prefer to have a tub. ≫> The hotel assistance are not available all hours of the day like at usual hotels. This didn't bother us but it might bother others. ≫> My magnetic card to unlock the doors stopped working and I got locked out in the parking lot without a cell phone and had no way back inside (hotel assistants had already left for the evening) lucky I took so long eventually my boyfriend came looking for me. ≫> Pretty pricey, but if you can afford it, it is a really prime location. ≫> Would be nice to have small fridge in room for longer stays.

The beds are so nice an soft. The breakfast outstanding and the staff very nice and helpful. I will always stay here, no doubt.

Excellent staff helpful and informative. Breakfast first time for 'pop up's' delicious and varied menu. Position for downtown and also cliff top bay walk, wharf and boardwalk. Comfy bed very quiet.

No aircon just a sweep fan but fine in late March

I believe that's the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! Great location - equidistant to beach and to mountains, great walking in city. Fantastic breakfast!

Nothing, really.

The breakfasts, Alex, the cook, who has such a pleasing personality, the pleasant modern rooms that were so clean and comfortable, the gas fireplace heater. Also we heard no noise at night, so walls are well insulated.

Shower water went all over the floor because the shower floor didn't slope down enough, it seemed, in room 301. The stairs need painting, but that is picky!

The bed was so nice and soft and well supported. The breakfast was super great and the chef was very nice.

The room was very clean, the receptionist super friendly when greeting us, the room was decorated very beautifully, we liked the thoughtful details and the art. For what it was, a little bit expensive but would go there again.

It was somewhat inconvenient that the staff is only there a few hours a day. When we left the room, the doors were locked immediately and we could not enter anymore, lucky us that we had all our bags with us otherwise we would have had to call someone. In the description it said that there were free bikes, these had been stolen, and it was a little bit lazy from the staff to say, oh you can rent them across the street.

Our room was very tastefully done, the bathroom was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud. We will definitely stay here the next time we're in Santa Cruz.

Very comfortable romantic getaway and a perfect location. Everything you could want is walking distance... Definitely recommend!

clean, quiet, stylish

The inn is nicely designed and decorated in a clean, contemporary style. Very eco-conscious, perhaps even hypo-alergetic. The king bed was particularly comfortable -nicely soft, big puffy duvet, big plushy pillows. The electric fireplace was also the room heater... and warmed well even on a very chilly night. Spacious bathroom. All squeaky clean. Just a block away from the very lively downtown Pacific Ave, lots of boutiques, bars, dining choices.

We were a little uncomfortable with not having an open office except for 2 hours in the afternoon... also no phone in the room. Not a problem for our 1-night stay (for a concert at the Rio)... but for a longer stay would choose a more conventional hotel. Not happy with Booking.com... this was listed as a hotel but is plainly a B&B.

beds are TERRIBLE. Way too soft mattress, sink in and wake up with horrific back problems. Worst I've ever had in any hotel, EVER

The bed was wonderful! And so was the breakfast.

Construction noise from the Warriors arena being built a block over. Also the shutters didn't block out as much light as I'd have liked. (Solution: earplugs and eye mask.)

We spent three weeks touring around the USA. This was by far the best place we stayed. The little touches like the free bikes, the library. At first I did not know what the reviews I had read were saying it was so, but then as soon as you were there it just got better and better. I love the fact it is wheelchair friendly (I don't have a disability, but it is great to see hotels having reall rooms that cater for that need and don't look like something out of care setting). I loved the fact the bathroom products were of a quality that I didn't have to use my own. In every other hotel I used my own products as I was afraid they would give me an irritation. The most amazing thing was the breakfast. Anyone staying really has to have the breakfast, it is one of the best I have had any where in the world. It is simple, but delicious. Don't be put off by them asking what time you are going to have breakfast, as it is just to help them bake it fresh.

Santa Cruz is a grimmy kind of city, it is a little off beat, which I loved, if you want it to be Carmel it isn't going to be that type of town. I found great restaurants and bars and an amazing beach.

Very clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful (they shared their thoughts on things we should see in the area and along the coast as tourists). And the breakfast was a complete treat - the popovers and the egg dish (Florentine Popover) were fantastic!

Very friendly staff!! Clean room, comfortable bed and location were all great. It came with breakfast and parking which made the rate well worth it. I would definately recommend this place.

We received a warm welcome from Elise. The room was lovely & we enjoyed relaxing in the courtyard. The location was excellent & the room luxurious. The breakfast was very, very good.

OMG!!!! The breakfast was fabulous!!! The mattresses were heavenly to sleep on!!!! The staff was wonderful!! I would definitely stay again!!! I would rate it ***** stars!!!!

Location, breakfast,wooden floors, cool bathrooms, clean lines.

The internet and tv didn't work at first and staff was somewhat reluctant to help out but eventually did (it was late at night) Seems a bit overpriced for the size of the room.

We enjoyed the staff. When we first checked in, there was one person in the front area and he asked if he could help us get our luggage out of the truck and into the room. The waitress in the morning was very friendly and helpful. She made the morning experience special. The chef made the most wonderful pop-overs! Everything about the breakfast was perfect including the coffee which was the best I've had in many years. I would come back in a heartbeat!

Without a doubt, PBI had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in in my life! I didn't want to get up in the morning, but I did and am glad I did because I was able to enjoy the amazing breakfast! I have already recommended PBI to several friends as a wonderful getaway spot. I definitely want to return and take advantage of the complimentary bicycles next time! Oh! And the fresh-baked goodies each afternoon were delicious!
