We loved pacific grove as a base to explore the area. The hotel was comfortable and clean with nice staff, early evening wine and a good breakfast.
It felt dated especially the bedding, carpets and bathroom. Nice towels though.
great location, great quality continental breakfast
rooms had a musty smell, ventilation was poor
Great location, beautiful scenery, spacious room, abundant breakfast. A wonderful base to explore the nearby attractions.
The air in the room would be fresher if the door can be kept open for some time during the day.
Nice sized room, clean and had all the expected amenities.
A bit pricey, the pillows were a bit long in the tooth. Parking is tight, you will likely encounter dings from people squeezing in and out of their cars.
Breakfast Wine and cheese Hot tubs Location
Nothing in particular
To my surprise a continental breakfast was included. Nowhere was that mentioned with the booking info. Because there was a refrig in the room I brought food.
What I did not like was people talking and laughing around the spa until 1:45 in the morning. :(
Big and quite room Comfortable bed Good breakfast Friendly staff
No elevator Poor wifi
Staff was excellent. Breakfast in AM and wine and chessein PM were very nice. Room was clean and large. Very convienient location to beach and The Fishwife, which is excellent food. Most part very quiet and peaceful. Spa was clean and hot.
I stayed 4 nights and each day another group of people move in above me and made a lot of noise at night, mostly foot trafic and doors slamming. The spa area needs updating . The spa was very clean but the area around it needed weeding and watering as the plants were shabby. The furnature around the spa is very shabby also and needed to be replaced.
location is good, away from busy city
easily noticed that can hear when upstairs walk, using bathroom even next door. especially with younger children, need more silence at night
Great location with easy access to the beach... Friendly staff, great room with a fireplace. We will return and highly recommend this property!!
Very poor wifi...
Great set up for a family or multi-party group with 2 separate bedrooms (1 K) (2 twin) and a couch. Also perfect for extended stay if you want to cook as unit has stove, refrigerator and micro. We never used it but it is a great feature. Love location as it is close to beach and 17 mile drive and close to Cannery Row. Also loved the fact that it is dog friendly. Would certainly return and recommend to friends and family.
Furnishings were a bit tired but not unduly so for a "beach property."
Room 115 - After check in, the Dog-friendly room had WET urine spots and large soaked area urine (counted 10 total). This was after the room was "cleaned" and ready for occupancy. Rug was dirty. Rug runner was tattered. Cuts in bath linoleum. Plug-in in the bathroom was loose. Dog poop was on walkway to room. Whole property shows lack of upkeep. Hard-boiled eggs were kept unrefrigerated and un-iced in a bowl on the counter.
comfortable, quiet, nice surroundings( landscaping, etc.)
The range in the kitchen in unit 212 had two burners out of four that did not work. When we called the office, we were told that the manager was out of town and would be returning in about two hours and would come by to check the stove, The person never came by and we were faced with the same problem in the morning. Very disappointing. We spent a lot of money for this unit and expected the appliances to work.
A comfortable ,well appointed room, situated very close to the sea. Staff were very welcoming, ma de us a cup of tea, and gave us helpful info a bout the area.p
Couldn't fault it, we enjoyed our very brief stay.
loved the fireplace, beds, ambiance, location ,popcorn maker, tv,
everything was good, wish it was a better price, but well worth the money, thank you
Breakfast was nice but not very health conscious. Wine and cheese lovely.
Carpets were dirty and chairs and tables sticky. The room looked back onto an old mobile home.
Pet friendly and the owners were great.
Staff helped us to locate a good dinner restaurant when the first one was booked solid. The reception building where breakfast was served was very cozy, and the fireplace was inviting. Although it was not updated too recently, everything worked and it had a comfortable "lodge-y" feel to it. Rooms were a nice size and didn't feel too cramped.
Based on the location, the price was probably OK, but it was on the high side for the "rustic" nature of the place. With only a one-night stay, I don't have anything else to offer. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Old, old, old. Needs updating. Clean but yucky feeling.
Comfortable, spacious room, easy walk to beach, quiet location, friendly service.
Need an upgrade. Wearing out.
One Bedroom apartment was very large, plenty of room for little one to play and not annoy adults or neighbors. Loved the popcorn maker
Had to leave after two days.
Location and friendly folks - - plus you provided wonderful weather!
Can't think of anything . . .
We loved the breakfast especially the fresh bakery goodies. Also, the afternoon cheese and wine was delightful.
The room was good size, and it looked like the bathroom had been redone. We were also very close to a nice, dog friendly beach.
Didn't care for the office staff. She was all business. We brought our dog and when my daughter brought her in to the lobby (dog friendly hotel), she asked me if that was my dog and then said there are no dogs allowed in lobby or sauna area. It's not what was said, but how she said it. She was plain rude. Then when I asked if she could recommend some dog friendly restaurants, she gave me a card for a fish place. I said my daughter and I are vegetarians so are there other options. I'm pretty sure she rolled her eyes at me and then gave me this nice restaurant ($22-$29) which was definitely too fancy for a dog, and a mexican restaurant restaurant. We called the mexican restaurant and they don't even have outside seating. The room smelled old and musty, the carpet was very dirty, and our thermostat was broken so it was 90 in our room the entire time. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this place.
