Very pleasant people, very pleasant town. Staff restaurant recommendation was very good.
Breakfast was great and chef very accommodating
Night staff she was not very engaged or attentive.
Not much, really
Bed was horrible, shower was horrible, the gas fireplace didn't work, old style, small TV's, heated towel rack that didn't heat up, bathtub with no stopper, no evening cookies as promised, and a late breakfast that we didn't stay for since it didn't matter at that point...
Staffing was wonderful! The cook/server gave use excellent customer service. We will be coming back!
I would say that the rooms were nice. The hot towel rack was odd in that it didn't really get the towels all that warm and was really dangerous given how close it was to the sink. The breakfast we had each day was different and delicious with both a sweet and savory option. They also do a wine and cheese plate in the afternoon and cookies in the evening. You're a little far to walk down to the main parts of Monterey but only a short drive from everything. I would definitely stay here again.
We got there a bit late in the day so they had just left our keys with a note at the back door. Luckily, we saw and found them (before anyone else did) but it would have been nice if they had called or emailed (they had my contact information) to let us know what they were doing. The parking lot is ridiculous. First, your car scrapes against the ground driving in because of the huge dip. Then the spaces are so small and so close together (and in some cases surrounded by wooden poles) that it's very difficult to park.
Very nicely cooked breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Nice extras - cookies, cheese and wine.
Room a little pokey
Very welcoming hotel , pleasant to view. Parking no problem, very friendly hotel would book to visit again
Quaint. Well maintained. Nice breakfast. Excellent location. Good staff.
Too small for more than a night or two. Bath fan/light was noisy and since switch was outside bath it would wake other person. Noise thru thin walls. Heat relied on fireplace.
The comfortable bed, the great breakfasts, the wine and cheese in afternoons, the view from balconies and the ever helpful but never intrusive hosts.
For sake of finding something adverse (and it was hard to do). We were in for a wedding with others and an iron and ironing board was not in each room but needed to be shared. No "biggy" but that's the ONLY thing we could say that we didn't like.
The comfortable bed, a good breakfast, good night time cookies and good wine. (all included in price) All of the staff were very nice including the chef and housekeepers. I enjoyed learning a little history of the town and the former owners.
I didn't like having to leave. I wish I had a week there. Some people we met did.
Owner/Managers were very warm and gracious. The Chef's were very profession, Breakfast was very good.
They let us store our bikes in the basement.
We stayed in upstairs unit of back building and there was a bad smell in the stairwell and hallway.
très bel accueil très bon petit déjeuner
great staff, excellent location, good value for that area.
road noise from 3 am on. can hear other guests through walls and floors.
Breakfast. Room very clean
Room was below street level. No view of anything. Paid $200 for a nite WAY to high for room in cellar and no view
Nice place, good location, ok breakfast.
Staff was not typical of B & B, somewhat uninterested. Our room was on third floor with dormer ceilings so low we had to stoop to get in and out of bed.
location, location, location
Very stuffy, employee . Noisy neighborhood. Could hear everything in the house. Room was cold.
Lots of room since the room was a suite. Free wine/cheese hour and cookies at night were yummy!
Breakfast wasn't very tasty. Quiche looked good but they ran out before we could order it.
Choices for breakfast were great, quiet environment, could walk to town, wonderful staff, good choices for videos.
I think they kept the snacks too long , they weren't always fresh; they poured the one and only glass of wine .
The facility really fits the Pacific Grove setting, also close to shopping, beach, etc. breakfast was great, the other guests were friendly. I was surprised we did not stay in main facility that is advertised on website, but the back house was fine.
Deck was dirty, needed cleaning&paint, new furniture on deck would not cost much, would be great improvement.everything else was good
Plenty of space in accommodation. Good breakfast. Pricey for what it was.
Dirty room carpet. Cramped space between cars in lot.
Incredibly warm and friendly staff, beautiful room, and delicious breakfast. I'm a very picky guest and I would most definitely stay there again. Thank you!
The food was delicious! Everyone was extremely pleasant and very helpful. I would definately recommend staying there. Lots of history and I reallyloved the butterfly house.
I loved the architecture of the building. The staff knew the history of the building. Check in was very personalized and detailed. Food was good and the room was very private with comfortable bed.Check out was also very easy.
I would have preferred a non-alcoholic or sugared beverage during afternoon social. I am a diabetic and do not drink wine or fruit juice. I had water but it would have been wonderful had a beverage been available such as a seltzer water.
room was small
