Located only minutes from the San Diego Airport, world-class sailing, and whale watching, this hotel offers comfort and modern amenities, while putting guests right in the middle of the excitement in...
Score from 732 reviews Very good
It was close to the trolley. It was well lit at night. It was close to good restaurants in "Little Italy". It was in a quiet location. It was near the airport. Receptionist was very helpful.
The location to the airport and the waterfront is excellent. It's an old facility, yet comfortable and clean.
Not all rooms come with the listed amenities, and there was no continental breakfast. Call the hotel directly to find out what amenities will be in your room, ours did not have a microwave, a fridge or a hairdryer.
High quality room, very safe area, helpful staff
The isolation is not so good, noise can be heard from outside. Location is a bit outside the downtown, requires walking...
Loved the central location and proximity to the convention center, gaslamp district, and marina. Room was clean and comfortable.
The room itself was clean but lacked places to plug anything in. For example, we tried to make coffee but there was no plug for it so we had to get out the ironing board, set it up near a plug, bring the coffee maker over, set it on the ironing board and plug it in. You are walking distance to Little Italy which has some great restaurants as well as down to the beach/pier.
I had expected more of a cute little hotel and instead got a knock off Motel 6 experience. Our room was right near the office so it was loud all the time with staff coming and going. The walls were paper thin so we could hear everyone else's TV going as well as any conversations had above a murmur. The hotel doesn't offer any kind of meals so you're on your own for that.
Near the airport and near the transportation (bus, train) terminal. Walking distance to the waterfront. Very convenient and comfortable room. Pleasant and helpful staff.
I loved how this place has a great location to most things. its within walking distance from restaurants (especially the Mexican place right across the street), the gaslamp and the harbor. There was an issue with my reservation but the staff was fast and nice.
When I first went into the room it smelled a little weird but it turned out to be a relaxing smell which I later enjoyed.
Great location. Everything minutes away. Trolley around the corner. Will defenetly stay again.
friendly staff, came back to a clean room every day. bed made, garbage empty, fresh towels. comfy bed, slept like a champ.
furniture a little used
We enjoyed our initial stay so much that we returned twice for longer stays while in San Diego. The staff were very welcoming to our friends and family while visiting us offering them access to the carpark.10 out of 10 all round.
We enjoyed the comfort, price and location of this hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. The beds were comfortable, loved the microwave and refridgerator in the room. It was a perfect and affordable hotel for my family and I. We will be back to San Diego and will most likely retur and stay at this hotel again!
Not that it had anything to do with the hotel, but we were in a NON-SMOKING room and the gentlemn who were staying above us were noisy and CHAIN smokers. They would smoke outside our room for hours. So the smell was bothersome. NOT the fault of the hotel.
First off they put me and my friend in a "kid'a suite" ..yes a kids suite...we're both 25. I didn't even know these existed but apparently they do. When I said something about it to the staff they just laughed it me. The beds were very uncomfortable and the bathroom and bedroom weren't very clean. For 100 dollar stay, you can find A LOT better. A motel would even be better than this place. Don't bother.
It was a clean hotel with a great location.
It is an older hotel in much need of updating. Parking was horrible and not much of it.
The room was cleaned and basic which is to be expected for what we paid and free parking... However...
The customer service was shocking. On their business card says breakfast is included but it's not and there was no apology for misunderstanding. Wanted to use the pool but they were painting it, again no apology for inconvenience. The wifi was so slow there was no point in having it. One night there was a girl screaming from the next room, so rang front desk to inform them, no-one said anything to us later that evening or the next morning. Over all wouldn't recommend. All in all a bad feel from the place.
This is one of the older hotels that we stayed at - there was no internal staircase, but the room was comfortable. We were close to all the things we wanted to visit.
Getting away from the hotel ad fast as I could
The the facility was old and outdatedd of lights not working in the room, mold, ANTS, SMELL, SPIDER WEBS;, tv remote wouldn't work' worn out carpets in room, bed mattress Sank
Pete who worked on the front desk was very accommodating and helpful.
Every day needed a new card for our room. Other reception staff didn't know anything of the local area or facilities available. WI was only really available if you went down to the office area. No information book in our room.
Spent a week vacation and convention. Not the quality of the Omni, Sheraton or Hyatt, but then we saved over $800 on the cost of the room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool is small, but not bad for a small hotel. Very close to harbor activities and restaurants. We would stay here again for the cost to value of the location.
Small facility, limited number of rooms, no elevator to 2nd floor, close to the airport flight path and RR tracks, noisy sometimes. No breakfast, nearest decent restaurant over 2 blocks away. Rooms were old and tired, but clean. TV left a bit to be desired in channel selections. Bathroom was small and cramped.
- Bed was fairly comfortable - Location near what we needed - Housekeeping staff very nice (left them a Tip)
- Advertised with a Continental Breakfast - not so - Lamp Shades looked ike they had been a drunken brawl! - Torn repaired bedspreads and Shower Curtins - Terrible Coffee in room - $50.00 DEPOSIT - although I can see why from the condition f the room!
Location, free parking
Can't go online due to poor WiFi
Location is closer to sea world and other attractions.
Service is very bad: water pipe was broken and room was flooded. Can't get a good sleep while people were vacuuming outside our room.
Didn't like anything about this place.
Carpets are stained, bed rails on the bunk bed were black when they are supposed to be light wooden color. This place is old and really needs some renovation. They advertise that breakfast is included but when we arrived they said that they don't do breakfast any more. FALSE advertisement. If you like to sleep with windows open, then this place us NOT for you. It is very noisy. There is train on one side, light rail, road, airport on the other. So you hear everything even with windows closed. We reserved a room with two queen beds but they gave us a room with one queen bed and a bunk bed. That's NOT what we reserved. We arrived at check in time but out room was ready almost an hour and a half later!!! So we had to sit in the car and wait. Bad experience with this place altogether.
Leaving and never having to see it again.
The hotel gave our room away and so the three of us had to sleep in the one bed. The pull out bed was broken and dirty and thus unusable. The staff did not acknowledge us upon arrival nor give any apology but rather ignored us as we stood in front of them while we voiced our concerns and displeasure. We asked for the room not to be charged until we had spoken to the manager the following morning but they charged the card. After speaking to the manager he agreed to provide a full refund and we booked a different hotel (we had been booked in here for three nights but only stayed one). The money however was not refunded until two weeks later. I've never experienced such bad service or such a dingy, damp room before. I would not recommend staying here!
I like the location because I didn't have to travel too far to go to work.
I didn't like the room that I had because it faced the trains and in the middle of the night I was awaken by the trains, the bathroom was small, and I was told that your facility was new but after checking in i found out that it was not modernized with up to date amminaties.
