quiet rooms

It was very close to everything

The staff was rude and felt like I was being watched the whole time. There was a huge tarantula like spider on my wall. Got questioned why I needed another roll of toilet paper and made a big deal about it. The hotel didnt smell clean. Smelled like curry and dirt

very quite and peaceful, flowers and green. The location is very convenient for shopping and dinning.

It was not a problem, but it would be nice to be able to watch a good movie in the room. that was the only problem.

Very friendly couple was running the hotel. It was at a central location and a short drive from Monterey center and Carmel. The hotel is very bare-bones but great if all you need is a bed.

We got very unlucky and our first bed had bed bugs and I got stung all over (more than 15 bites). The owner handled it very well and refunded the night and told us that this is the first time this happened. We actually saw that they moved the bed out and sprayed the whole room after we left. So I guess you can get bed bugs everywhere but they handled it professionally.

Very friendly. Cute little place with beautiful flowers everywhere. Was very happy with our choice.

We have stayed at least twice a year at the Padre Oaks. The staff is more than friendly and efficient - the rooms are adequate in size but the pillows leave a lot to be desired. Glad we bring our own. The property is wonderful - all with beautiful flowers and well cared for. Its a sure and dependable inn and close to the Monterey Shopping Center with shopping and dining spots. We will be returning. Thanks, Carol

The pillows are lumpy and they could use more available blankets for a cool evening. Also leave decaf in the room for their customers -

We felt like it was just another hotel or a motel room, nothing really stood out to give us that wow factor.

The closet entry was too tight to get into due to the furnishing around the entrance and the corner location of the closet was not good. The electrical wall outlet to the T.V. & refrigerator did not work, causing the management to supply an extension cord from another outlet, laying the cord across the room which was very hazardous,causing possible injury.

It was a very quiet, small, 20 unit hotel, quaint on the outside.

I was shocked at the price, which, not including the taxes, was like $25 a night more than I remember booking. The room interior was very outdated and old and not very clean. I would not recommend it, nor return to it.

The proprietors were very pleasant and responsive to the one small problem I had.

The office doesn't open until 8:00 am and I had to be at work at 8 so the continental breakfast was no help. On the one day I did have it, it was pretty skimpy.

Good value for your money.

Towels were hard and small. Funny little soaps

Cottage like atmosphere. Beautiful blooming flowers and plants everywhere. Even out the bathroom window. Quiet and relaxed

The ice machine was not workiing. Parking is a nightmare. Actually it's the getting out of the parking area (accident waiting to happen)

A great place to stay

Great lodging for the price. I read some of the bad reviews others wrote and do not agree. Staff members were polite, the room was clean and quiet. Comfortable bed and great shower ( That's what I look for in room)

Location

Our first room smelled of natural gas while the second was okay but very small. The bed was hard while the pillows were so poor calling them that gives pillows a bad name. Internet service was very unreliable. There was no shampoo in the bath. Breakfast consisted of half a crossiant per person and a prepoured small glass of oj. We have stayed at many of the hotels in the area and this one provided a very poor experience.

The rooms are big and comfortable with a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. The breakfast is excellent, you make delicious waffles, and there is cereal and muffins. The motel is close to downtown SLO. We stay here every time we are in SLO.

Everything was fine, nothing to dislike.

The hair on the pillow... But I guess it was the housekeeper's ones because everything was clean

Nice clean rooms.

The heating was rather noisy. It was some kind of big metal heater that would do cracking noises when it turned off and on to keep the room's temperature. Other than that it was great.

The price, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, fridge and micro. They repaired the toilet seat.

Ice machine was broken. Manager said we could use next door motels machine. Broken toilet seat. Worst of all, I was bitten by fleas! I found one dead and one alive. They offered a different room but not the king bed so we stayed and they sprayed insecticide. I was bitten again that nite. All the manager said was "sorry" and no offer to compensate for it. If they had we might stay there again but not now.
