Palace Hotel    

Looked like a very wealthy hotel from the lobby. The staff, all of them were very knowledgeable and courtise.

The room didn't look like the picture,there were no bathrobes or mini bar like the room information said. No place to sit down to watch T.V. accept for the bench at the end of bed like they also said there was! The T.V. didn't work until maintenance man came up about 15 min.later,also the freezer was all iced up, and lastly the pull out mirror in bathroom fell apart the first time we used it.One more thing we pulled opened the curtain and all we saw was another brick wall and not even a coffee pot in room. I have spent a lot of time on the road in big towns and little towns and for the room I was expecting a lot more than what we got. Next time I will have to do a little more checking out on the Internet and calling the hotel before we come back to sf to watch another game. Sorry but this place just didn't have it all together. Kayak should stay in all the places they show as 4 stars. Thanks for listening! Scott Stoner

Great location. Excellent for catching train to airport .

Great value for a City centre hotel. Location means you can walk anywhere you need to get. If not public transport is plentiful. Room was huge compared to other sf Hotels. Generally good standards all around.

Parking $50/ night. Street parking can be really cheap but pay attention to signs. Some garages around between $10 and $25 overnight. No coffee in room. One robe instead of two. Trash can missing in room (minor nit really)

Beautiful garden court and french parlor court.

Old dirty room carpet and hallway. Noisy floor, 4th floor access to gym/spa when I requested for quiet room. Disappointed room.

Pretty much everything - lovely hotel

Pricey onsite food and drinks but this was expected - we ate at local eateries

we love the indoor pool gym sauna and spa we love their famous maxfield parrish pied piper painting in the bar their drinks and fine cocktails are out of this world their tuna ahi tarar is the best in the city its heaven best bar 5 star lovely.....

Location is perfect. I never see such a successful concierge service. They are really great.

Carpark is very expensive. You can park to a public car park for half price.

The court yard and the time alone with my wife away in the big king bed.

The bartender at the piper was rude and discourteous.

I liked the old-style grandness. It is a hotel with great style and history, which is rare in the US. The Pied Piper bar is like being in an American movie set - great place to have a drink.

The room is very nice.

The cost of Wi-Fi connection is too high. No coffee machine in the room.

Historic hotel, well located for shopping and plays, big rooms, high ceilings, old world charm, the lobby had gingerbread houses made by local chefs and non profits which added a unique atmosphere to the entrance

Garden Court restaurant was expensive in comparison to similar choices nearby, parking was higher then comparable lots nearby, could hear the housekeepers going down the hall at 6am, no coffee maker in room,

Friendly competent staff, beautiful decor, excellent location and price.

The building itself is an architectural pleasure. The staff was most helpful and friendly.

The bar closed at midnight. We were hoping for a drink after the symphony but were disappointed.

Beautiful hotel with great San Francisco history and character. Comfortable beds; great price.Walking distance to many points of interest.

The walls were thin. I could hear the television next door.

The luxury building & display

It doesn't worth what you pay. $60 usd to park the car one day "as a guest" is too much and they didn't have a good valet parking service to make it worth.

Poor lighting in room. Below-par internet service in rooms: Expensive, yet very slow and with endless interruptions. Very frustrating. Enough reason for us not to go back to the hotel.

I recommend this hotel, it's clean,the staff was very friendly and they have a quick service.

Location and style

Beds were not as comfortable as you would expect

Staff was very polite. Rooms were spacious enough not huge but just right for my daughter and I.

Hallway carpets for two days had a huge crumb pile that did not get vacuumed up. And our fridge had meats from a previous guest which had quite the science experiment growing and smelled horrible. Hot tub wasn't working for our visit which was a big attraction for my daughter.

It was all great, from the building itself to the room, the service and the deal that I found to stay in

I had the alarm set at 5 am... it was just that i didn't mind but I am going to check next time I am in a hotel

I liked the spacious room size, traditional and elegant style, and the historical aspect( I did the Saturday hotel tour). I especially enjoyed the Japenese breakfast that was delivered to my room and the Dimmer switch in the bathroom is a nice feature. The hotel staff provided impeccable service. I will come back to the Palace Hotel.

The only thing I can think of that would make it a bit more relaxed, more like home for me, would be to have a dimmer switch in the lamp next to the bed :)
