This hotel is spectacular. Everything about it is elegant and it also has an original Maxfield Parrish painting above the bar. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was truly one of the most comfortable beds my wife and I have ever slept in. The price was reasonable also for this caliber hotel.

Old world, relaxed feel. Luxury facilities. Great location - central and right by a bart station. If you're late in from the airport, this helps. Good but pricey restaurant for dinner. Spectacular garden dining room for breakfast. Prices for "extras" were very high, E.G. $8.40 for a small bowl of cornflakes.

Well located, close to Union square, metro/tram Great breakfast room & good food Too noisy. Wall between rooms are too thin, one can hear radio/ tv and even private relations. We changed our room, but same issue, fortunately not all night long this time. Don't go there if you plan to spend time in your room or if you plan to recover from your jet lag.

I have stayed 3 times. First for Wed. Reception. Very nice. 2 Times to meet up with friends. Enjoyed the lap pool and spa. Room service was pricey but very good. The location is perfect for visiting the city. There were candy wrappers behind the bedside table but only discovered them because I needed to plug into an outlet. Nice services. Bag claim and valet parking, although there was some confusion when we first arrived and we were late to an engagement, Enjoyed the city. Pier 1, Embarcadero (sp), Peir 39, Took a ferry to Solsoleto (sp). Shopping. Took the trolley up and down California street and a 2 hour open double decker bus tour around the city. Here with my daughter and to show a friend from Australia the city for the first time. Thank You! It was fun to splurge a bit on a nice place.

Great location near shopping and downtown, high ceilings in the large rooms. Great to have late check out with Starwood Preferred Guest status. Windows don't open - was gorgeous and frustrating to not be able to get fresh air.

The staff was friendly and helpful I did not think the accomodations were quite what I was expecting. The dining area closed early and the only other option was eating in the bar. A $9.00 service fee (not including a tip) for an $11.00 bowl of soup in using room service was rather pricy

The very first impressions when walking in set the mood for a very enjoyable experience. The hotel was immaculate and spacious with beautiful detail in architecture and design. The hotel breakfast room with buffet was delicious and the music ambiance was delightful.

Good location, very nice historical building, nice room. Fantastic breakfast in beautiful restaurant - worth its price:-). Wifi in the room is necessary to pay - separately for each device, stupid, old fashioned.

The palace hotel was fantastic. The staff were fantastic and the room was very nice with a half decent view out of the window. The pool and spa were open early from 5 am which was great when the whole family was up early because of jet lag. The Walls let too much sound in from neighbouring rooms and the window were purposely glued shut

The rooms are big and we got the two rooms (as we travel with two older children) with connecting doors. The pool and fitness area is very nice, the location great and the hotel overall quite luxorious. As often in this kind of hotel the add-ons are very annoying such as the app. 25 USD for a wireless connection, the almost 50 USD per night for the parking and the water in the room that is charged.
