Entry door of the hotel was awesome
NOISY BAR BELOW
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the free wine tasting each evening was great and it is in a very good location. Our room was nice and quiet with a very comfy bed.
There was nothing I didn't like.
fantastic views of the city from the upper floors. very helpful staff. an enjoyable stay all round.
perhaps at a hotel of this standard free wifi would have been appreciated and maybe a complimentary bottle of water.
The bathroom door is...well, not really a door, which is hardly romantic.
Beds were very comfortable room was very clean
It took a long time for room service to bring anything to your room in fact they forgot about me for about 2 hours until I called them and reminded them, it was only ice but they still made me wait :(
The room was comfortable and there was clean with large bathroom.
The hotel felt very empty and considering this they decided to put a noisy group in the room that joined ours. Also due to the time of year the selling point there roof top at was more or less closed. This should be make clearer on information.
Room was clean.
It was my understanding parking for hotel guest was $12 a day not the $40 a day I was charged. No ice in rooms or hallway.
The hotel itself is beautiful - great decor, cool vibe. I had a wonderful massage at the spa. When we could get through to room service, the food arrived promptly and was delicious.
We stayed on Halloween and were surrounded by a block of rooms that were solely reserved for partying. The hallway outside our room had garbage on the floor and the smell of tobacco and marijuana smoke was pretty bad. People were slamming doors and making a racket until 6 am when they finally passed out. I did mention this to the staff the next morning and was offered an apology. The next night was fine, once the partiers were gone.
Friendly staff, clean and trendy reception, bar and restaurant. Best location!
The pool is on 4th floor and on the north side. This mean no sun during the day, also the pool bar and area around is a bit sad and not very trendy compared to the rest of the hotel.
location is excellent, in the midle of down town, next to the trolley station, near to allot of shopping too. excellent service.
no bath tube.
The hotel is first rate. All amenities were fine. The room was more than adequate in size and comfort. The staff is always friendly and welcoming when you return to the hotel. We liked the bar and the pool bar seems like fun when the weather is warmer. Location is perfect for anything you might want to see in, and around, San Diego. Easy walk to gas lamp or little Italy. Would recommend and certainly stay again.
Valet parking seems a bit steep at $40.00/night, but probably not much more than other similar hotels in the area.
Food was excellent
The decor and vibe was great from the entrance door. The bellman was super helpful upon arrival, but the valet was clueless on how to deliver a car properly every time we called for our car to leave.
The room's style was, conceptually, refined-modern-attractive, but the furniture was cheap, scuffed, sheets were low-count, the floor was scuffed, curtains were off hooks, and the room was poorly cleaned, bathroom was dingy and the windows were filthy. I couldn't believe that they had the audacity to charge the amount that they do per night. This hotel is trying to be something it is not. Pretentious and a major disappointment. Take your money elsewhere...
Rooms were very nice
No satellite tv at the pool bar very minimal channels
The style of hotel with roof top leisure !
Too pricy for nothing in return not even a blow dryer to use in room!! It was a total disappointment not impressed!!!
Great hotel, excellent clean rooms with a good podium pool area
Downtown San Diego is a bit of a hole. But the hotel is great
We're pretty loyal to Kimpton Hotels when given the choice. The beds are huge and super cozy. Upbeat location, music, and staff. Super modern features, furniture and amenities. Near perfect stay!
Probably the biggest downside is the $40 a night valet parking, which we cut out by parking in a near by garage for just $15 a night.
Staff was very friendly; hotel was very clean
Upon check-in, we found out that the pool was closed for a private party - and not available to hotel guests. If we had known that, when making our reservation on booking.com, then we would have stayed at a different hotel! We asked the front desk about this and they suggested we use the pool at the sister hotel. We walked over to the sister hotel, and it was so crowded with overflow from our hotel, that we had no other place to lay but on the concrete next to the pool. We did not stay for long.
Location was excellent, right in the heart of the gas lamp district.
Parking is expensive, and is not as the website leads you to believe... $40 per night, not for the duration!
Location and friendly staff.. loved the free bikes available for occupants.
The room and bed are way below 5 stars standards .. noise travel very easily ..
The staff Michael, Nicole, Gilbert the bill man, that was my second time checking at Palomar and it was better. The location the staff and they upgraded me to the penthouse with the same price
The health club is never upgraded
From reading the reviews, I expected a more luxurious hotel. While it was clean and nice, I would not consider it a high quality hotel. The lobby is very plain, the rooms are nothing special. There isn't even pictures on the walls for the rooms. The bathroom only has a sliding door, providing very little privacy. Not even a glass on the vanity. Rooms are not well lit and views are not great.
Erro shampoo and body lotion
Food from room service was below standard. A 5 star hotel they dont have proper dovets for the beds; they put 2 sheets insted. The double bed was not a double bed; its is 150cm wide. At night, if your neighbour uses the restroom you can her the water flowing.
