Everything was top class.
Staff, Location, Rooms
At Palomar they are great a Hassle to Check Inn with no options and extreme rules but staff always try to make it better.
The hotel staff was super nice and helpful!
The location is ideal - close to shopping and wonderful restaurants. Proximity to the Metro red line means that the whole city is accessible. The staff are friendly and give personalized greetings and service. Wine and snacks in the lobby provide a nice interlude to visit with fellow conference attendees and just watch the world go by!
Free wi-fi access required giving away personal information.
Excellent location, super comfortable beds, and I love the wine happy hour at 5pm! Have stayed here twice now and would definitely recommend!
room was too small
spacious rooms, friendliness of the staff, yoga mat in the room, complimentary wine hour in the afternoon, individual touch
room was pretty dusty
Your location suited our needs perfectly, Everyone on the staff - from those holding the doors to the folks behind the counters to the people cleaning our rooms - were so absolutely friendly, professional and thoughtful. We have since commented to one another and others of that warmth and home-like feeling we experienced while there. Your wine and appetizers each night from 5 to 6 meant for a wonderful lagniappe at the end of an always day. We have every intention of staying with you again on our next trip to D.C.
Cannot come up with one item. We loved your place!
Well priced for the district Nice view Two blocks to metro Wide arrayof restaurants
Great big room, great location. I would highly recommend this hotel.
I should not have to pay for wifi
My b'day celebration happened to be better just because I decided to stay in El Palomar. I have been staying there randomly in the last two years, and I have gotten one of the best service among all of the others hotels I have stayed in DC (which have been many). When I gotten to the room, there was champagne and Birthday Cake M&M's. Hilarious!
design happy hour atmosphere neighborhood location staff friendliness
Urbana Restaurant very good & priced right for DC. Had our breakfast & dinner there--very convenient & reasonably priced.
A little too far from Metro, but we are older couple.
We loved this hotel! Unique, hip design touches. Great happy hour! Terrific location. Very helpful staff. Couldn't ask for more in a hotel stay. Highly recomend!
-Their open door policy to pets of all shapes and sizes. -The size of the rooms...we had a spa suite that was very large as well as the kids queen/queen which was wide and spacious. -The large spa soaking bathtub. -The front desk staff was some of the most friendly, naturally empathetic I've come across lately.
-They welcome pets but offer no amenties for the pet, i.e. dog bed, bowls, bone, etc. It's a pain to haul a dog bed and bowls with you when you travel. They also didn't have a clear idea on where to walk the dog to do their business...a printed map would be nice. -The room service menu was limited and not interesting. I ordered a quesadilla for my daughter and it was dry, not toasted or griddled, and it was served over salt & vinegar chips (??). The cheesecake tasted like cool-whip. -The spa tub while large and unique wasn't that clean, the controls didn't work properly (it would randomly turn on when we weren't using it), and the tiny aveda salts don't make a dent in the water. -They could put more amenties in the spa suite bathroom...like other hotels are doing now...make-up wipes, nail file, shower cap. They have a sign making it clear they will bring you anything but who wants to deal with that. -They don't give you any water bottles at night. I suppose this is how they keep the rates down but our room was $460. -The internet (which is free), was constantly going down for 20-30 min periods.
The wine tasting was fun
In 2014 it seems incredulous that a hotel of this quality would charge for WiFi
Good location, very comfortable, superb conceirge
The Staff make the hotel. Unfailingly friendly, cheerful and helpful. It's an excellent location and the loaned bikes are a fine way to see Washington. Room was large and comfortable and the food was (mostly) good. Free wifi stable and fast.
Not a lot. Bagels at buffet breakfast were stale (but quickly replaced). Echo what others have said that the lifts are insufficient.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in in DC
Is very clean and that bed was so confortable.
The room was comfortable. The staff was very nice.
The bar is over priced.
Bathroom too small & sliding door did not close LACK OF PRIVACY!
Housekeeping was a little noisy in the morning
Location; free wine at 1700. As it was our 40th wedding anniversary it was really nice to have a bigger room and a nice bottle of champagne on the house. Nice reception staff who were really helpful with an early check-in due to overnight travel.
Noise from the adjoining rooms. Only separated by the doors allowed the overly loud phone calls to penetrate our room from the individual next door.
