Score from 230 reviews Very good
Standing more than a century in Washington, D.C., this beautiful hotel is just a 7-minute walk from the Dupont Circle Metro Station. An on-site restaurant with Starbucks coffee is available.
Score from 633 reviews Excellent
In the heart of downtown Washington, D.C., a short distance from monuments, museums and the White House, this historic hotel features luxurious accommodations, along with a first-class, full-service...

Urbana Restaurant very good & priced right for DC. Had our breakfast & dinner there--very convenient & reasonably priced.
A little too far from Metro, but we are older couple.
We loved this hotel! Unique, hip design touches. Great happy hour! Terrific location. Very helpful staff. Couldn't ask for more in a hotel stay. Highly recomend!
-Their open door policy to pets of all shapes and sizes. -The size of the rooms...we had a spa suite that was very large as well as the kids queen/queen which was wide and spacious. -The large spa soaking bathtub. -The front desk staff was some of the most friendly, naturally empathetic I've come across lately.
-They welcome pets but offer no amenties for the pet, i.e. dog bed, bowls, bone, etc. It's a pain to haul a dog bed and bowls with you when you travel. They also didn't have a clear idea on where to walk the dog to do their business...a printed map would be nice. -The room service menu was limited and not interesting. I ordered a quesadilla for my daughter and it was dry, not toasted or griddled, and it was served over salt & vinegar chips (??). The cheesecake tasted like cool-whip. -The spa tub while large and unique wasn't that clean, the controls didn't work properly (it would randomly turn on when we weren't using it), and the tiny aveda salts don't make a dent in the water. -They could put more amenties in the spa suite bathroom...like other hotels are doing now...make-up wipes, nail file, shower cap. They have a sign making it clear they will bring you anything but who wants to deal with that. -They don't give you any water bottles at night. I suppose this is how they keep the rates down but our room was $460. -The internet (which is free), was constantly going down for 20-30 min periods.
The wine tasting was fun
In 2014 it seems incredulous that a hotel of this quality would charge for WiFi
Good location, very comfortable, superb conceirge
The Staff make the hotel. Unfailingly friendly, cheerful and helpful. It's an excellent location and the loaned bikes are a fine way to see Washington. Room was large and comfortable and the food was (mostly) good. Free wifi stable and fast.
Not a lot. Bagels at buffet breakfast were stale (but quickly replaced). Echo what others have said that the lifts are insufficient.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in in DC
Is very clean and that bed was so confortable.
The room was comfortable. The staff was very nice.
The bar is over priced.
Bathroom too small & sliding door did not close LACK OF PRIVACY!
Housekeeping was a little noisy in the morning
Location; free wine at 1700. As it was our 40th wedding anniversary it was really nice to have a bigger room and a nice bottle of champagne on the house. Nice reception staff who were really helpful with an early check-in due to overnight travel.
Noise from the adjoining rooms. Only separated by the doors allowed the overly loud phone calls to penetrate our room from the individual next door.
Great location, helpful staff, the hotel was in great condition
the pool was closed even though it said it was open on the website. we booked the hotel because we wanted a place for our kids to swim after a long day of museums and touring
The customer service was outstanding. From the check in to the check out was awesome. Friendly staff and very clean hotel. No
No complaints at all.
Great place. Fun, hip and wonderful service. After bad stay at another 5 star hotel, this was great!
bathroom could be a lil bigger in deluxe double but still great.
It is not very far from the center. Many restaurants in the neighborhood.
Rooms with one double bad are very small.
You have a great team of employees, from the first contact at the entrance and the front desk to the ypung lady serving a glass of wine (a wonderful and highly appreciated initiative). thks to everybody!
The rooms are big with plenty of space, the beds are comfy and the bath robes are really funky! The position of the hotel is very good as it's in the middle of everything. Easy walk to the White House, monuments and Georgetown. The staff were very friendly and helpful too.
Palomar is in a great location. The staff were very friendly and were accomodating to a couple requests I made. The room was clean and was surprisingly big compared to what I thought it might be like.
Not much here to report. I suppose the bathrooms are ok and could be remodeled to match the clean contemporary look of much of the rest of the hotel.
Everything about my experience was fantastic. From the time I arrived until the moment I left...I did not need anything the hotel staff couldn't provide. From the elegant functional rooms to the great location near everything...it was the perfect stay!
My only complaint is I didn't discover the Kimpton Palomar before!
Location! Easy to get anywhere, close to subway. Very nice shops and restaurants around the area. Happy hour is great!
No much, one of the lift is not working during my stay. Had to wait for a while for the lift.
hotel is very nice and has large and comfortable rooms. Pool is nice for swim after day of sightseeing. Location is not perfect, but good enough as a base to visit DC and Georgetown.
Happy hour in the lobby was a bit chaotic and when you walked in was not a great scene, with everyone mooching off free wine and cheese! Elevators were terrible in the morning and clearly not enough for the size of the hotel. Bathroom a bit dated and was not cleaned well any of the 3 nights we were there.
I loved the inside of the hotel, the room was great
Parking too expensive, not having a bar at the hotel was a disappointment
Room is very comfortable , it is on good aria, stuffs are professional .
I arrived there late in the night and I was ready to sleep , there is a mini bar in the room, but it is lacked. I called them and ask them to bring the key. I surprised why they lack it on such a good hotel.
