We needed a cheap place to stay walking distance from Safeco field. This hotel was clean, cheap, parking was easy and there were lots of places to eat/drink in walking distance. The hotel is old, but charming. The staff was really nice, but a little odd. The bed was fairly small. Two people barely fit.

I loved that it was kept in the "old" style, with few modern amenities.Great detail was given to friendliness, cleanliness and helpfulness. I especially went there for the historical signficance and was not disappointed. The tea room breakfast/bar was outstanding, as was their "museum".The bed and linens were fluffy and comfortable and totally in keeping with the decor. I liked everything.

Good location in the international district. Interesting history and charm of an old place. Very friendly and personable staff. Antique charm and care for keeping the local history preserved. The tea room is a big plus, The shower didn't get too warm.

The historic charm of the place and the homey yet private feeling. It took a long time for the hot water to reach the faucets!

I liked the fact that this is a historic building and the owner is very passionate about preserving the Japanese history in the International District of Seattle. We were honored to stay there. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast perfect. It's close to the Amtrak train station which is why I booked it in the first place but we would go back time and time again.

I loved the antique feel of the hotel and the room. The comfort of the bed with the goose down comforter. In the morning I had fabulous coffee and a danish, for free, in the cafe next door. The staff was friendly. Everything was very clean. I loved my stay here. The ghosts kept making noises at night. Doors would open and close without hearing footsteps. The ghosts kept making noises at night. Doors would be opening and closing without hearing footsteps. But that's something I loved as well. :)

Step back into Seattles history and enjoy the Panama for what she is. A wonderful, vintage time capsule right in the heart of the I.D. A little musty but then we opened the window.

It is a historical gem with a clean comfortable bed. I liked the friendliness of the staff, who were helpful from the minute we drove up to the front doors. The history behind the hotel is very interesting and there is a secret hidden on the back side of each armoire. The continental breakfast in the tea house was also a wonderful experience with another long lost historical secret that can be seen through the glass floor in the back of the tea house. It is not a hotel for everyone, especially if you do not like climbing stairs, but I would definitely stay again if I come with the right minded people. The neighborhood can get a little loud late at night before a Seattle Seahawks game, but it didn't bother me a bit since the bed was so comfortable I fell back asleep in minutes.

The Panama Hotel is best described as a 'personal' place to stay. It feels like family, though no one overdoes that connection--orivacy is paramount, and it's very quiet inside. The appearance of this official Historic Site is all done elegantly with that history in mind--old things--furnioture, rugs, etc all in very good shape. The staff put a warmed heating towel for our feet, under the covers, if we wanted it, among other niceties. This place was perfect, and in a delightful part of town--China Town--so much amazing shopping, art galleries/stores, etc. Restaurants that were hard to choose between! It was simply magical, to be honest. We will return there as often as we need to get into Seattle. It was perfect.

Jan and the entire staff were fantastic. The historic vibe with plenty of simple touches made my stay great. The bed was comfortable! Mocha the cat is a friendly addition to the place. The shower on the first floor should get a new showerhead.

The Panama was a brilliant bit of preserved history! I have never stayed in a hotel that has almost everything about it as it would have been since the 1930's/ 1940's. There werent any frills and I liked that. The staff were lovely and friendly, so much history, and it's authentic - it was like I was in an English boarding school again. Certainly not your Best Western... so if you can't live without your wide screen tv or having to walk up two flights of stairs, then this hotel isnt for you. If you are looking for something a bit different , and one of the best beds you will ever sleep in and a bit of local historical education - then this is your hotel. Steeped in history, wonderful experience, Would stay and recommend to friends and family. I felt that the hotel lobby area upstairs could be more presentable/ tidy - but other than that it was great!

The European old world charm. Beds were uncomfortable. Shared bathroom needs reno. Could not shower in the shared shower as it had no water pressure in the am. The breakfast included was a coffee and a muffin We checked out after one night even though we paid for two. We were not offered a refund
