    a lot of space, shower was good, access to subway

    acoustics are poor: a lot of noise from neighboring rooms. breakfast was not good

    Outdoor courtyard was a big plus. Nice indoor spaces as well, loved the industrial architecture. Rugless rooms made for cleaner, healthier feeling. Subway to NYC was 1/2 block away & just a few stops to/from midtown. Parking just a few blocks away and much less than Manhattan.

    We would have liked a comfy chair in our double room so you wouldn't have to read in bed. No biggie.

    The hotel is very charming in its décor and exterior. The subway is extremely conveniently located--right on the corner and two stops to Manhattan! The couple who stayed were very happy with their accommodations.

    The R train tends to be very unreliable. I reserved the room for a young couple visiting from Spain and twice they had unpleasant experiences. One night waited an hour and a half for the train to come--didn't get back till 2 AM and the neighborhood is pretty deserted at that hour.

    Rooms, service, and staff. The decor is very unique and tasteful! For a business traveler this is a great location.

    Great staffs, very close to the subway station, special furnishing, clean rooms.

    Breakfast not included, and only provides simple bagels. House keeping didn't leave any bottled water after the first day. Fair price in NYC but still expensive overall.

    What i liked is that the facilities where in good conditions and the curb apeal of the place. Besides the location is very convenient because is right infront of the sub entrance

    The cleaness is very poor and the staff is not really helpful when you have a problem. I recommend that If you are staying do not buy the rate that includes the breakfast. What they offer is only a few options of hot beverages and pastry.

    You're getting more than what you pay for, which is great. My expectations were far exceeded. Will recommend to friends who want to visit the city.

    Fun design elements, right above subway. European design feel

    Location is "unconventional" to say the least, and this coming from an Astoria guy. Doors don't reach all the way to the floor, so potential for noise issues.

    Style is unique

    At the 1st night of our stay, they had a very loud party at the hotel back garden till a very late time around 12 am on a week day the thing which prevents us from sleep. The room was much smaller than the one showed on the site photos.

    I love the location of the hotel and the staff was very friendly and professional.

    Great hotel . Feels more like a dorm room then a luxury hotel. But make no mistake its better than other hotels. The whole building has alot of history and they have nicely refurbished the place. The metro is located right in front of the hotel and for the price you cant pass up on this hitelm

    I recieved their emails after I checked out. It would have been beneficial knowing about the hotel and their policies before hand.

    Great rooms, quite spacious. The AC was a powerful godsend with the heat wave we got. Great value. The patio outside was amazing and there were 2 beds outside that were great to hang out in. The café by the front desk was pretty good and not super overpriced. The staff was friendly and we got free water bottles every day in our rooms. The subway is right across the street. The wifi was also good with next to no problems. Honestly a pretty good deal for what you are getting.

    There was no safe in the room we were given even though it was supposed to be included. Hotel staff waited a day because apparently they were going to "send up an engineer" (to build one I guess???) until the manager finally gave us another room. Their solution day 1 was to lock the door off to all staff so we didn't get fresh sheets or anything until we got the new room. The new room had a front door that wouldn't shut. (Big safety improvement lol) I called the front desk and they wouldn't believe me so after waiting half an hour for them to send someone up (they never came) I went downstairs with a video on my cell phone demonstrating it (very frustrating). They ended up repairing it but offered nothing to compensate i.e. a discount or suite upgrade. I get that it isn't a huge chain but customer satisfaction should be priority. Also, we had friends who stayed in a room on the same floor and they found an XL pair of women's underwear in their room upon arrival. (they are both men and did not bring girls over) That should be an indication of the cleanliness, no? When they told the lady at the front desk she laughed which appalled me. TLDR; It was a great hotel but the many stupid problems took a long time to fix and we got no compensation whatsoever. There was no hustle to fix our problems and I didn't feel I was being taken seriously.

    Very nice staff- they put in special effort to make us feel comfortable. The rooms were beautiful.

    It's a new hotel and needs a few months to iron on the details. The TV didn't have cable.

    Decor, location, reception staff, room change when needed

    building works (drilling and hammering) beginning at 8am. Promise of help moving bags to new room to get away from the noise but member of staff just walked off after handing over new keys. No help with all bags at all. New room was not cleaned properly - bins still with rubbish in, surfaces not wiped which was a shame after starting off feeling impressed by the hotel

    Proximity to subway Industrial look Early check-in

    Some of the staffers were way too casual, there's no excuse to ever use the F word in front or to your customer even when it comes to describing morons. Horrible sleeping here. The floor bounces sounds and there is no way to cut that out unless you use some strong ear plugs.
