Breakfast Ambiance Location
It was cold everywhere (room, hallways) it is obvious that the heating system can't support such a vast space if you don't mind staying in a place with 60-65 F it is a nice place
Rest room decoration is a bit old
The breakfast and the location
Gorgeous decor, amenities and cleanliness. Comfort of bed.
Although our room had city views, it was extremely noisy due to the wind draft and thus disrupted our sleep.
All staff were welcoming and helpful. Location great.
Very friendly staff. Good location (just next to the 36th street stop on the M, R line) which is a couple of stops away from Midtown Manhattan. Complimentary breakfast (pastries, bagels, fruit, regular coffee, juice). Fancy coffees for sale in the lobby. Complimentary water in the room. The hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms have a 'home-like' feeling. Plenty of space in the room. Good shower with hot water and good water pressure. Nice products in the bathroom.
There are no vending machines in the hotel in case one gets thirsty in the evening but the restaurant is opening Dec 2014. The room got cold in the evenings due to the nature of the building (former warehouse so little insulation). Only a drawer and no 'real closet' in the room but this was not a problem for us.
The uniqueness. It is a fun place to stay.
Beds could be more comfortable. They are clean. Low to the ground. Matress a little hard.
Ambiente and the very friendly staff. The loft type of hotel, that is different from a traditional hotel. Very close subway station - 36th street with direct link w/o changing the subway, to 5th street and time square.
Heating is centrally controlled and can´t be individual changed. In the morning there is not enough places to sit for breakfast. You have to stand or wait quite a while.
beautiful rooms modern edgy so clean
Friendly and helpful staff, nice and clean facilities. Hotel in Queens (not really NYC) but subway station located about 50mts from the hotel that leaves you in Manhattan in 15minutes. Lovely "out of the box" hotel déco:). Delicious and copious breakfast.
Not really related with the hotel but take a good look on how the subway works, especially late nights when some of the track lines change. The MTA site has a useful trip planner which is of very good use so..use it:). Hotel related, everything was really cool:)
Brandnew, unusual and stylish. Nice outdoor patio area as well as rather large rooms considering the proximity to Manhattan. Subway that takes you to Manhattan is just around the corner.
Check-In took quite long and person in charge was chatting away with a co-worker while I was waiting for my room keys. Area feels a little unsafe at night time.
The staff was friendly and responsive to questions and requests. The Hotel was clean, reasonably priced and did provide a small continental breakfast.
Beds were a bit stiff and Noises from the Hallway were very easily heard from inside the room making the overnight a bit distracting.
Location, vibe, staff.
It is a little sparse in the rooms and the lack of carpet made it noisy. I suspect they will be hanging art etc. Also at times the music in the lobby was too loud, background in fine, but adjust the level to the crowd
Very nice staff Original decoration, as it is a former paper factory their turn to an hotel.
There is no specific room with proper table for the breakfast. Only a sofa on the lobby of the hotel and small tables. This is not very convenient.
Loved the stylish decor, staff were friendly, room was excellent, we had a very good nights sleep every night we were there. An item stored with our luggage on checkout day was damaged - a replacement was purchased by the hotel and posted at their expense to us in the uk!
Bar wasn't open during our stay. Unable to get a coffee in the hotel at approx 15:30 - reception were going to get me one but were stopped by management because coffee bar was closed, I was advised to walk to a cafe about 200m down the road, I carried my coffee back to the hotel to wait for our taxi as we were checking out - VERY VERY POOR SERVICE!
Lobby has a great atmosphere Staff was friendly (great recommendations for an american breakfast place - Courtsquare Diner)
Room was disappointing - i missed more detailed decorations (very basic and cold compared to the Lobby) Nobody told us that they have complimentary breakfast.
I loved the facility, very nice, Clean, comfortable and unique surroundings. I consider it a rival to all the top hotels, but for the price, which also is equivalent to the top hotels should offer a real breakfast, not just bagels, pastries and fruits. I have stayed at lesser places and was offered a more complete breakfast. And the closest option in the surrounding area is some distance away and choices are limited.
This hotel was very upscale.
Not having a parking garage, Had to park on the street. Would have like maps showing how to get to subway, taxi ph. number, etc.
Hotel style and design Staff super supportive convenient transport
no hotel bar/restaurant (but seems to be coming soon)
We stayed as a group of 17 friends visiting NYC for a week. From France, we wanted a hotel with personality, something special for our stay. And this was perfect. Everyone loved it. The deco is fab. Old factory. The space is great. Big comfy sofas and chairs. Garden, veranda. Perfect for us. Staff really helpful and friendly. 15 mins from Times Square on the M or R and subway 25 yards away. A great place to stay to visit NYC. And will only get better when the resto and bar kick in in 2 weeks time. Comfy bed but a bit small and great showers.
Nice idea to keep the wooden floor boards in the halls but it makes it noisy. Don't see how to get around that one without totally losing the feel but it could be a problem if you are a light sleeper.
Character of the place and the discounted rate for the night. Hard to find somewhere nice in NYC that is affordable on business.
When I got off the subway (first time) and called for directions the woman said she was unable to help and suggested I used my phone. No big deal but it was pouring rain and windy. The woman at the desk apologized the next morning and was very helpful-subway was literally across the street. Would certainly return.
design rooms art
the night shift receptionist was a complete disaster
Location (close to La Guardia - 15 min - and close to the subway - 50 meters) Very clean (no carpet on the floor) Very nice design Very nice staff
Yes it can be a bit noisy (no carpet on the floor so the corridors are a bit noisy) but no dust mites!!
Excellent location, 50 meters away from the subway station, which is two stops from Manhattan (Lexington with 59 St). Competent and friendly staff. Confortable room, good shower.
A in room-fridge could be provided, as well as a coffee lounge.
Around the corner from the subway. Great deal.
It's very hard to find parking
