Paper thin walls you can hear everything the person next door is saying, and we happen to get a really loud obnoxious neighbor which made our stay very unpleasant, we got no sleep because this person was up all night talking, arguing etc.. Won't stay there again no wonder it's called paper hotel their walls are literally paper thin!
The walls are paper thin, you here everything that goes on in the hallways and anything that is going on in the neighboring rooms. A noise complaint was made about my room for having music on. Although I turned off the music when the guest next door banged on the wall. I felt constricted from doing anything in the room, I even had to put the tv on mute. It was very upsetting since it was a Saturday around 9:30pm and I couldn't even watch a movie.
I'm in love with the way the hotel was designed, the rooms are amazing, and the R train is right on the corner.
check in was a bit hectic
great place, environment
While close to PS1, Museum of the Moving Image, its still the middle of nowhere.
The hotel was stunning in design and really had a great spirit .
had to stay the night to catch an early flight at Laguardia, the hotel was awesome!
The staff was super friendly.. The decor is great!
Cool place, very smart rooms and decor
Poor electical sockets..loose on wall.breakfast expensive.
Location close to subway.retro style clean
The parking situation was horrible - but luckily found a space. The room was very nice but found food (a potato chip)on the floor between the nightstand and bed. When I phoned to ask to have the room cleaned while we went out it wasn't done and the chip remained.
Staff was friendly!Beautiful hotel.
Unable to buy a hot drink after 6pm. Not enough restaurants in the area
The quirkiness of the room and the views
I stayed during the winter. The concrete floors should have been heated.
Everything. The community area on the 4th floor.
Location style cleanness
The location of the hotel is really the best thing. It is is Queens so out from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan but it's only two stops away from Manhattan. Also easy to travel to Brooklyn. I like the decor, I loved the vibe and the atmosphere. Great value for money. There were new towels in my bathroom everyday as well as water bottles. Everyone was very friendly. I can't recommend this hotel enough.
Walls are thin. You can hear other guests next door and walking outside your door.
Staff was really nice.
Some of the staff are really hopeless which really lets down this place. The restaurant and bar staff are unhelpful and really unfriendly. We checked out and were surprisingly told we had no charges then later discovered we'd had charges to our room which shouldn't have been there and they'd authorised the payment. Had to chase up three times until I got a response to requesting a refund. If they can fix this up they have the makings of one of the great hotels in NYC in an up and coming area.
The hotel is fantastic - amazing decors and close to the subway making the commute into Manhattan very easy. One of the concierges was super helpful but unfortunetly I don't recall his name. They kindly upgraded us to the biggest room in the hotel because it was my 30th birthday which was very generous and the room was one of the most gorgeous ones I've ever seen. Every room has high ceilings and wonderful views. Would definetly recommend staying here. The breakfast is really great aswell - very unique. Although it has quite intense flavours which can be quite tiresome after a few days. Lots of different rooms and fun things to discover and do. In the summer this place would be even more magical!
The room floor was made from an uncomfortable material and the beds were having things made us felt Itching after we slept.
The table tines
Breakfast was amazing!!!! Delicious and reasonable price...
My boyfriend and I loved this place! It was such a homey stay with great decor in and out of the room. Positive vibe. Staff were very nice and helpful. 5-10 min train ride to midtown. Train station is 1 block away. Starbucks and other eateries were 3-4 blocks away
There needs to be protein like eggs added to breakfast. The spread at breakfast in nice but with out the protein it is really too pricey .
This is a wonderful hotel. It is clean and comfortable. The price is amazing. The rooms are very comfortable. The staff is wonderful
breakfast is great but would be amazing if it had some eggs ... even hard boiled eggs
The rooms were quiet and clean. The hotel is a gem located 15 min by subway from manhattan and for a fraction of the cost
Our rooms weren't cleaned for 2 days during our stay. We got power of for 3 hours one day. You can smell people smoking pot even in your own room. The walls are quite thin so one night I could hear the next room calling and complaining about our 1-year-old baby crying.
Staff especially the night shift receptionist Dévell & the receptionist lady Sophia are great persons. They helped us a lot during our stay of 8 nights.
The only down side is the bed itself was pretty stiff, but that shouldn't deter you from staying unless you have back issues.
The hotel is steps away from the subway, two short stops to midtown Manhattan. The staff was always super friendly and accommodating. and WOW the view! We were lucky enough to over look Manhattan. It was great.
Breakfast is pricey and doesn't have enough protein.
Stylish, spacious, well-designed hotel
