The Bennington Motor Inn attracts its guests with an appealing country-inn atmosphere.
Score from 110 reviews Good
Steps from the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art and placed in downtown North Adams, this hotel offers a spacious on-site health club and easy access to local attractions.
Score from 62 reviews Very good
Our room smelt and the beds were uncomfortable.
Spacious room. A good stop over inn for the Green Mountains
Rather expensive, given no breakfast included.
The room smelled , was very dark snd cold
Close enough to the town centre to walk in for meals, central to the museums etc.
No facility to make tea/coffee in the room. Complimentary drinks in reception in another building 7 - 9am. Needs to be reconsidered.,
I quite liked Bennington and the hotel was located a short walk from downtown
I accept that everyone has poor days but the same member of the staff checked us in and out and they had consecutive poor days
I stayed at the Paradise Inn twice within the last month. It is clean and reasonably conveniently located for my purposes. The second time, I did meet some very nice, friendly staff members.
During my first visit, the reception was icy, to say the least. You really can't call yourself an "inn" if the staff isn't warm. I've booked other stays through booking.com that were rated similarly, and they were far better than the Paradise Inn. It's fine, for what it is, but I wouldn't say it was good. Very dated.
Staff was indifferent and not very courteous
Loved our stay at the Paradise Inn this Labor Day weekend. The suite was very clean and perfectly comfortable with walk-out sliding doors to our own private patio looking out onto the grounds. The grounds! Fell in love with the extensive, beautiful gardens where a stunning assortment of mature trees, shrubs, flowering plants and even weeds (yes, interesting "weeds") are expertly and creatively cared for by Paradise proprietor Phil. Walking around the grounds was an adventure in discovery. Interspersed throughout are cozy seating and lounging areas where you could spend an entire day - like a hammock hanging under the big airy boughs of a white pine and a gazebo tucked back on the property. We played tennis (a real treat) and went swimming day and night in the Paradise pool which is kept at the perfect temperature and is clear and clean and delicious! We had a great conversation with Phil and gleaned new insight into Bennington, its history, Vermont life and caring for a property. The Paradise is a gem, cared for with love by a family. Recommend very, very highly and will be back next summer!
The only thing I didn't like is that we couldn't stay longer!
Back yard was pretty. Beds were comfortable. Not much else!
No elevator in the building I was in. ( I was on the 2nd floor) None of the information about the motel mentioned this. It could be a serious problem for some; it was difficult for me. No-one offered to help me with my luggage Used plastic cups left on sink, no clean ones provided for 2nd night. Ice machine only on the first floor....again a trip down and up the stairs for me. Pavement leading to office needed repair....very uneven. rough pavement.
Very friendly and helpful staff, perfect location.
We could bring our dogs. The large grounds in back were lovely. Landscaping lovingly and beautifully maintained. The pool area was pleasant.
price a little steep
The pool area was so serene and secluded from traffic. The staff was wonderful. Would definitely go back.
Great outdoor swimming pool.
Pool, relatively quiet
The staff were very friendly. The pool and grounds were very nice. Beds were comfortable and room was clean.
TV remote batteries were corroded but they did replace it quickly.
Location and swimming pool were the draw for me. Definitely would give this consideration if passing thru again.
The location near downtown Bennington. Easy access to the town.
The price was high for a destination that doesn't have much to offer. Bennington is really just a stopover town. For the price, there should have been a complimentary breakfast. Also, the front desk was understaffed and when we had questions about the town, the one person on duty was too busy to help.
Paradise Inn was fine for the short time we stayed in Bennington. It was clean and within walking distance to Main Street's restaurants and shops.
Be aware that there didn't appear to be any elevator service if you travel with lots of baggage. There is no iron/ironing board in the room, so you'll need to request from the front desk.
Location was ideal
Room did not have enough lighting. Very dark even though there are several lamps in the room
I thought the grounds and pool were superb.
The rooms are comfortable but sparse.
Balcony over garden, location mid way between old and downtown Bennington.
