Score from 568 reviews Excellent
It is a very romantic resort, that reside on small (half) island, some small ponds/ocean beach near the rooms, fire places on the beach, nice tree grove. It is walking distance to the sea world. It is
The "5 pools" are quite small and mostly for playing (less for swimimg).
I live in San Diego, but once I was at Paradise Point, it felt as though I were in Hawaii or another tropical island.
Just a couple of things. It did have a bit of a musty smell (probably due to being on the water), and the refrigerator was a little difficult to get at. The wood door was wharped.
Love the property, fun to wander around, lots of activities
Service at the Barefoot Bar and Grill was slow Shower in Rm 106 needs to be updated.
Good location to San diego
Stayed one night couldn't really use facilities I was charged for. Questionable pricing practices. 34$ for overnight parking, 40$ resort fee added at the end of your stay. Yet another 60$ charge I haven't resolved also
Updated rooms, mini kitchen in Jr suite, lots of good walkkng areas.
No Wifi in the fitness center. Needs make over, no fans or AC and equipment is old.
The premises (garden settings)
Location & the staff everywhere including the restaurant were excellent.
Too pricey for the quality of the rooms. The rooms are 1960'S. We would have paid more because of being right on the bay but for the rooms. We were told that the rooms were & looked OLD (didn't listen). They need to tare down the rooms & build new ones. The menu @ the Barefoot Bar was so-so.
There was an Adult only pool and quieter pool areas other than main pool. Good location right on the beach. Nice spacious comfy rooms.
Main pool was not very clean, lots of leaves and debris everywhere. Expensive if you park outside your room.
Having everything you need at one place
Absolutely loved staying at the paradise point hotel...3rd time in San Diego and by far the best hotel I've stayed in! Lovely setting-grounds are gorgeous! Restaurants serve delicious food and lots of facilities! Will return and recommend to others! Fantastic for families, elderly couples, young couples and froths of friends. Plenty of space to get away from it all! I travelled here with 2 friends after a crazy week in Las Vegas...it's just what we needed to relax.
The added extras for parking, extra bed etc.
Barefoot Grill Beach front room Room Friendly staff
The darkness of the streets at night. I stayed in one night because I didn't want to walk around by myself.
Being right on the beach in the bayside suite All the swimming pools The Gym is great Restaurants are good
Sofa's in Living room are horrible to sleep on. Got a roll away and that was not much better. So when the room says sleeps 4 two in bedroom two in queen size sofa bed in living room it is not comfortable. Also, the kitchen should supply a few utensils even if plastic and paper. The microwave and fridge worked well but a few extra little things would be a nice addition for the price of the bayside junior suites
Amazing hotel and grounds. Very safe for children and food and pool area were great. Rooms were lovely.
Good location and fabulous facility
Uniqueness of Paradise Point, ideal place for a small family get together or weekend getaway.
No access to working ice machines, having to pay for the use of a microwave despite a final cost of $384 for one night, late checkin time
Service at the barefoot bar was very slow
Liked that it had the boat rentals right on the property. Room was spacious but barren looking.
It only had one decent restaurant, which was the higher end one. the food was great, service fantastic but it was only at that restaurant. the restaurant we went to for breakfast under cooked our food and then overcooked it. Took too long to get the food to our table.
All the activities, restaurants and staff were awesome! This was our first visit and we were beyond satisfied with our staff we will be making this an annual vacation.
Booking stated out room would have a king size bed but we had 1 queen sized bed.
Nice tropical garden, lots of plants and flowers.
Totally overpriced and crowded place, we found our two bungalows in a bad condition but couldn't switch because was totally booked out. The pics on the booking-page are totally different from what you get at the end...
- position - structure - pools - equipped patio garden and pond just out of the room -atmosphere
The grounds were beautiful. The food at the restaurants was very good. The Caveman Pizza was awesome. The gas fireplace pits at the pool were great.
The cost to stay there is way too high. I would love to come back next year but it is not within my reach. Our daughter had to split the cost with us in order to stay there. Also there should not be a resort fee and parking fee on top of the high cost of the rooms. Need more gas fireplace pits as they were always taken. We expected the pools to be more of a resort size, however, they were well maintained.
Dirty shower, noise bed, staff no courtesy
Close to beach/bay. Family orinted. Friendly staff.
Hotel needs to spend some money to bring outdoor grounds, landscaping, exterior of facility to today's standard. It looks like not enough employees were hired to keep the place in top shape at all times. Spider webs almost everywhere. Overall looks ok. Managment need to pay attention to details around resort. Need to have an lazy river pool area with water slides.
The rooms on the water The gift shop The pier The bike rentals The Water Taxi to Sea world was our favorite The Food The Staff The Location The pools and jacuzzi
The Traffic The high prices for the oceanfront rooms
Location Restaurants Water sports Closeness to Seaworld Safe secure environment Low rise architecture Helpful staff
Not a 4 resort but paying 4 star prices Accommodation was very dated Old fashion bathrooms with very poor water pressure Noisy a/c Passport for Paradise is a con, there is no excuse charging for parking internet & extra facilities, ie fitness room
