Great location, old worl charm with feather beds and down comforters and great small bathroom.love the shower, bathroom was spotless and new. This is now my favorite hotel. I had a great nights sleep.
Rooms are very small but really nice. There were no chairs in the room, just a bed bench for you to sit on.
We liked the staff but the room was not worth what we paid.
2 blocks off the #1 train; close to the park; lots of restaurants and bars and shops
rooms are (understandably) very tiny
Location, staff, Victorian style.
No coffee in room. Coffee only available in lobby from 7 to 11. Should be at least 24 hour.
Loved the location, and it was a very cute room.
Wished we would of had a bigger bathroom and wish we could regulate the heat in the room.
We are really satisfied. Greate location and the local infrastructure is good. The opportunity to have nice walks in the Central Park is excellent. The bathroom was always clean and approachable.
The bed was too narrow for two and the mattress could be updated felt to be used.
The hotel is a tiny older apartment hotel with dated but comfortable furniture an attentive staff and superior location. I will definitely stay there again when visiting New York.
Friendly staff Clean room, comfortable bed, quiet area, free coffee in the morning Close to the Central Park and the American Museum of Natural History Many shops and diners nearby Close to subway stops
they had the best coffee. Were so accommodating with my internet booking mistakes, rectified all with no extra charges. Room was ample, comfortable beds, but wished I'd checked the rooms with a view for next time. Staff were so helpful and friendly, will stay there again.
Shower was small, could do with air-con.
Junior suite 518 was spacious for 3 people, living room, fridge, microwave, desk. 2 blocks from Central Park, 2 blocks from the 1 train, quiet & safe neighborhood, very friendly & helpful staff, comfortable room, lovely boutique hotel. Yummy coffee in lobby. We had everything we needed & for a good price.
Pipes knocked loudly at times during the night. Water in the shower fluctuated between scorching hot and ice cold, so we took baths instead and all was fine.
The location was excellent - so close to Central Park, to great restaurants (Patsy's), cafés, buses, subway, stores, Columbus Circle and in a safe neighbourhood.
Good Wi Fi
Personnel not very friendly. Hotel and Room looked a lot better in pictures than in reality. Bathroom is very small wich makes it uncomfortable Air conditioner was not very good in a hot night
Comfy sheets and interesting fixtures. friendly staff.
A bit cramped for space. Double bed was next to the wall.
5 min walk from 79th street subway station 10 min walk from the Central Park Proximity to the Natural History Museum
No breakfast Tiny rooms Noisy place
Staff and locations was excellent. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.
Furnishings needed updating and bathroom was small
There's nothing fancy about these accommodations, but they contain all the basics for a comfortable stay. Great neighborhood. No frills.
Tv reception a bit fuzzy. Rooms a little too warm without temperature controls.
Staff is wonderful, location is great!
The mattresses need to be changed out as they are beyond worn...meaning very soft. Also the pads used on them are like trash bags, very uncomfortable and hot. The bathrooms are tiny.
Great location, friendly staff
Room was very basic, seperate bathroom not very nice, though always free when needed. Very difficult to control the temperature of the shower. Rooms are nit very sound proof.
The hotel was located in Manhattan, so it was convenient for me to have breakfast near the hotel. Hotel people were kind.
Wi-Fi connection was extremely poor. The room was so small. The air-conditioner was so old that its sound was loud. I had to turn it down for a good sleep. It was so difficult to adjust temperatures of the shower. In addition, the shower room was too tight. The room rate was very expensive for the poor quality of the room.
Low cost, perfect for short stops
Slow elevator. TV did not work perfectly.
Great location (close to Central Park and to subway stations). Room was clean. Staff was competent and helpful.
The room was a bit noisy (facing the street), but nothing a good pair of earplugs cannot solve. The elevator was incredibly slow.
Location and complimentary morning coffee in reception
I wish Park 79 - and some other hotels - would do as many do to allow you to keep using your towels for more than one day to save resources and reduce carbon.
Coffee from the machine in the morning.
On arrival was requested to pay in full and verify check in / check out dates by Duty Manager - became evident why on entering our "room". Was in Room 208. Was appalled & shocked by the size of the "Superior Double Room". Was too small to even swing a cat in at about 20sq feet. Couldn't hardly fit in the shower or toilet - and I'm 75kilo or 165lbs. Couldn't even get our 3 luggage's into the room. Lifts were extremely slow. Most disappointing from our trip to US; reminded me of Accor Hotel Ibis across Europe but at 2x the price.
Clean, space-efficient rooms with wood floors and comfortable bed. Staff is knowledgable, cheerful, helpful with planning your day.
Our room was a bit small, but otherwise perfectly charming. Even without air conditioning in the Fall we were comfortable.
