Room was good. Staff was excellent. Slept like a rock.
It was all good.
Staff - could not have been nicer Fact the hotel was warm & clean Bed was lovely and comfortable Excellent value for money
Plastic cover on bed Stronge chemical smell from the bed - maybe plastic cover cleaned with some stronge smelling chemical
This place reminds me of a European boutique hotel - very correct, not fancy but quite nice and tasteful. Original hardwood floors (building built in 1910). The neighborhood is tops - I've lived here for 20 years, always thought this was a private residence building. Now I live abroad and had to find a hotel for the first time. I will never bother to look for another hotel - this is it for me.
Bathroom was tiny - no place to put toiletries.
Room was clean. Location was excellent
No WOW factor, the decor was dull. The TV quality was poor. I was upgraded from a standard double to a queen suite.... I don't want to know what a double looks like!!!
Close to everything! Great value for the location. Excellent staff.
Everything, people, place, environment.
The hotel is a refined oasis in a city that can be rough at times.
Comfortable bed and linen. Friendly staff
Rooms are pretty small Grainy TV Super small bathroom No ice machine (lobby will get you ice, so no worries) No glassware
The wifi could be faster i guess.
-Convenient located -Friendly staff -Reasonably priced for location -Very quiet location -Wi-Fi works great -Flexible on late check outs -Great service with holding the bags after you check out but you are not ready to leave the city
-A mini fridge in the room is a MUST, especially when staying for several days -Continental breakfast would be nice -Better lighting in the entire room and bathroom -Terrible blow dryer -
Comfortable, only a small walk to subway and close to nice restaurants. Helpful and friendly staff.
The mattress had a plastic cover, then the sheet, really needed a mattress protector over the plastic then the sheet on top.
I liked that it was close to Central Park and the Space museum.
However, I didn't like that parking for the hotel was 3-4 blocks away, and you had to do that yourself.
it is the 3rd time i am going there and i really enjoy because i feel like in my home cosy quiet well the team is always nice i think it my favorit hotel in the upper w side just because it is warm full and clean
Location can't be beat. Staff was friendly. Bed was very comfortable.
There was no carpet, so sound really traveled down the halls here. One could also smell the common restroom in the hallway. Hotel was very no frills. They needed a chain on the door in the room - it did not feel very secure.
The hotel staff, have guilty and they have some sweet to us for apologized.
Heater does not work at that time. Some hotel staff has to say polite to customers.
Good location, very close to Central Park. Public transport nearby.
Location! Location! Location! Great neighborhood- easy in/out via trains (81st St Subway stop). Nice size room. Clean, comfy.
Water temp was luke-warm for shower in AM and shower door was off track, but otherwise for a no-frill hotel it fit the bill.
Great location. Staff (especially door staff) very helpful.
Beds not very comfortable (for me) eg plastic mattress protector noisy & fitted sheet slipped off regularly. Room made up daily but took a long time & often not done until after 3pm.
Within walking distance of AMNH as well as subway, many restaurants. Staff exceptionally helpful.
It was very noisy our first night there as the walls are thin and the doors are not insulated.
Wifi and location is not bad.
small room, facilities are poor.
The room was a bit hot but once we figured out how to use the heater everything was great.
We put a do not clean sign on the door and they came in anyways to clean.
We have stayed here many times while our daughter was in school in the city. The staff is friendly and helpful (they even put an air-conditioner unit back in our room when we were there in March and it was warm). Whatever you need they will provide if possible. Our last visit was our first in two years and we were greeted with the same happy faces that welcomed us last in May 2012. It is convenient to subway and sightseeing. This is our "go to" home in NYC.
It rained the whole weekend but we were at the Park 79 in NYC...so who cared???
Location, some staff.
The first room, 406- had bed bugs, not only did we get bitten all over our arms we found two one on the pillow and one down the side of the bed. We were them moved, the guys attitude was "well no one else complained about bed bugs..." Umm ok, we have photos as well as bites if you want proof. The room was absolutely the smallest room ever, we could not open both suitcases at once. You had to leave the bathroom inorder to dry your self off with a towel. The room was made up about half of the days we were there. New Year's Eve we were woken at 5am by two feral women in reception screaming abuse at each other. After half an hour of this we called reception and they said they were handling it. We weren't offered late check out. Need to work on customer service and the bed bug situation. Was paranoid for the remainder of the trip....
Suite for four was very comfy. My two girls slept in the sofa bed. Cannot hear traffic. Plenty of heat in room. We walked to Lincoln Center Zabars is 3 blocks away! I recommend a suite.
Parents took the affordable tiny room ..two cots, tv ..no desk. Paper thin walls ..We could hear neighbors romantic events. Steam pipes banging at night. And yet l still would stay here again..it is about location..
