The view, location, hotel
We randomly picked this from the Internet and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the facility was. You never know by the pictures on the Internet. Sometimes the rooms/facilities are not as nice as the pictures make them seem. But this was nice. We will certainly return to this hotel on our next trip to Myrtle Beach. We haven't been there in years.
breath taking view, the rooms were very spacious and clean. the kitchen had all the tools you need, feels like a home. the staff was super nice and helpful
Wifi stunk. Old carpet. Not a private balcony.
The location was perfect. The views are perfect. The staff is friendly, including the bartenders are the poolside bar. They are very friendly and mix some great drinks. The kitchens in the room are convenient. The pools are nice, I wish they were deeper though. The Starbucks in the lobby is a nice amenity too!
The elevators. I didn't really mind waiting and stopping on every floor however they need to be air conditioned or something. They get so hot!! The bathrooms are a bit small compared to the rest of the room(we were in an ocean front king efficiency). They were okay. Not a deal breaker! That's all really. The pros of this hotel definitely outweigh the couple of cons!! Oh, watch the parking garage. It's a great perk but be careful, it's a little tight. Just take your time.
The air conditioner blew right on you it was located right next to the couch which was entirely too small and the air blew on you in the bedroom as it was right next to the bed. The elevators where entirely too slow. The pool was ok but most were indoors.

If you didn't use valet service you couldn't use rolling cart for your luggage. Elevators were very slow. Had to wait 15 minutes to go from 7 floor to lobby.
Aminities, beach view room is really beachfront, pools and property neat and clean, helpful and friendly staff, great location.l

Location was perfect, view and access to beach couldnt have been better, activities for kids poolside, close to everthing, rooms were clean and up to date..thanks for a great vacation!
Hot tubs werent hot enough, toddler pools and laY river were tiny and because of beach..were sandy..probably would benefit to have more showers outside coming from beach...parking garage was very hard to drive thru with a mini van, narrow spaces and drive ups

Wi - Fi was good and they didn't clean the rooms daily. Also they didn't clean the showers at all during your stay but I'm sure they clean them.
Grand Central dining was excellent food staff was over the top loved the pool bar easy to get taxi

Everything was great. The valet parking was a help cause we didn't have to try and find a parking spot .
The only thing we didn't like was when we checked in and the room was not ready at the time it was surpposed to be ready. Checking was at 4 pm and we didn't get the room keys till 4:35.
Room was clean, air conditioner worked great and the kitchen had all we needed. Maids were very nice and changed our sheets when we asked. Clean bath towels were brought in every day. Starbucks in the lobby was very nice and handy. Bartenders mixed up drinks perfectly and kept their area clean. Water in pools and spas were clean. Nice flat screen TV for a hotel.
The pool areas, both inside and out, had trash laying around them for our entire stay. The pool guys shot baskets and played pass with a football instead of doing their jobs by making sure these areas were clean and trash free. Aluminum cans were stuffed in plants, paper and plastic wraps were scattered about along with cigarette butts and other pieces of trash. Also, the grassy area between the hotel and the ocean should be kept clean and trash free as well. Beer bottles, cans, paper, shoes, clothes and other pieces of trash was all over the place. It would only take an employee about half an hour to get rid of this and only a few minutes each day thereafter to keep it up. I know that the Patricia Grand may not own this property, but that's not an excuse for not keeping it clean. Your guests see this trash and it's a big turn-off. The bathroom beside the lazy river had a very wet and urine covered floor. An hourly inspection and mopping should be implemented. Once again, where are the pool guys! Parking garage elevator stunk (puke?) as did the stairway. Both need to be power washed and disinfected.
I liked the layout of the room, the view was nice. Overall the stay was totally fine. I read a lot about the slow elevators and tiny parking garages; however, the elevators were fine (they have 19 floors) and the parking garage was tight - but it was right across the street and I did not expect a large space - would not have paid for the valet.
The only reason I gave a bad rating - and would not recommend anybody else stay there, is the lack of effort that went into the room. The layout of the room was nice - and had a great view; however, everything was broken, stained and looked like it had not been replaced in the last 10 years. The sliding door on the balcony was broke, everything in the bathroom was dirty and chipped (broke) - including the light fixtures. The air conditioning unit was old and coming apart. The drapes on the balcony doors were filthy, the couch was filthy and tore up, etc. Heard some rooms were updated, definitely not this one! For the price, they could at least make the room look acceptable for guests. Kind of ridiculous.
The hotel was as expected..the room was exactly how it looked in the pictures. The staff was nice except for one of the Bartenders at the pool bar.
The pool bar did not sell food. We had to pick up a phone and to order lunch from the pool area and then wait for someone from the restaurant on the second floor to deliver it. Not many choices to pick from as far as food. I think they should make the pool bar a restaurant too and offer appetizers and lunch etc.
