I liked the historical aspect of the building and décor.
Nice old-fashioned style and atmosphere. Very comfortable bed.
Only one small bar of soap for both sink and shower. Staff packed up coffee at 10 AM on a Sunday AM--too early.
The staff were very helpful in giving us directions to some of the sites. The barman was very friendly & made us feel very welcome. All the staff were very friendly. The bed was very comfortable to sleep on.
There was a dirty cleaning rag left on top of the towels which was not a great thing to see first off. The tile around the sink was cracked & the bathroom was very cold. Didn't warm up even with keeping open the bedroom door.
I liked the historical aspect. The ghost stories were good too.
Great job of remodeling. Walking distance for evening entertainment.
no coffee or breakfast & nothing open on Sunday morning around Perry Hotel.
Charm of historic hotel
Very little hot water in shower...brrr!
Friendly helpful staff
NO room service facilities...no breakfast etc...
This former flophouse in a formerly disreputable section of the city has been elegantly restored and is a comfortable, perfect fit in this now-trendy area. The staff are extra- friendly, and competently attentive to guests needs.
I have become accostomed to micoro/ fridge/coffee pot and adequate counter space in the bathroom, all of which were lacking. But it was a very nice room and I enjoyed my stay.
Very central location. Historical beautiful furniture. Quiet and confortable
Staff was friendly, young, informal (not polished and professional)
Internet did not work - very frustrating for a busy traveler
Old sticky smelly, charges extra for filthy refregirator and microwave, and internet connection. One night was economical and next two days the price jumped twice the first day.
Good staff and a great bed
Rooms are a little run down but clean. The windows need a simple mesh scrim on them to add privacy as we looked into the car park but could not raise the blinds. Some thing very simple to fix. Service to the rooms also slack.
Pleasant helpful staff. Good location.
Cost was high for comparable properties.
Superb historic hotel, great location within easy walk of bars, restaurants, shops and Trax (free transportation)
Pity the hotel doesn't do coffee in the evenings. No coffee machine in rooms. Coffe on offer in the lobby in the morning, stone cold yuk!
Room was spacious, bed was extremely comfortable, great price
Nothing comes to mind.
Close to restaurants and shopping
The whole hotel could benefit from a makeover.
Friendly, responsive staff. Fabulous location. Cool old building with beautiful architecture. Comfortable bed.
The sink was in the middle of the room, not in the bathroom, and there was not very much room to put anything on the sink. Also, free Wi-Fi was available in the lobby, but to use it in the room, you had to pay $10 a day.
The beds are amazing. I regretting having to go home to my now-insufficient mattress! And the room is remarkably quiet for a place on such a busy street. The room was perfectly clean, and it was the first time I've ever gone to take a bath in a hotel and not had to wash stray hairs down the drain first. Also, they upgraded my room from a basic room to a suite, for absolutely no reason, which always makes me feel like a rockstar. I love surprise bonuses!
No mini fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker- nothing you expect from even lesser hotels. The layout of my room was strange- the bathroom sink and mirror was in the bedroom, about three feet away from the bed. Also, NO PARKING! You have to pay to park in a public lot, so you might end up paying for 24 hours of parking, go out to dinner, and then find the lot entirely full, so you have to park a block away and pay for parking all over again. It's absurd how few basic amenities this hotel had. It was very beautiful, but hard to stay here. Motel 6s have microwaves, so there is just no excuse for any modern hotel to not have them.
could not open the window
The room was very spacious, beautiful and romantic. Excellent beds. Great location.
Maybe slightly too noisy (fan and street noise). Refrigator would have been nice.
The history and much that was preserved both inside and outside of the building. Close walking distance to the LDS Library where we were doing research. Loved the bed and the window view also.
Parking having to pay extra for that, was not something to be expected, but we said okay. Don't know about a number of nights, though.
Quaint, Nice, good location
Room Service did not pickup our order, Front desk missed our wake up call, when we checked out, we couldn't, because there was no one at the front desk to check out with for over 10 minutes
Elegance of years gone past. A spacious and gracious lobby where one really can sit and comfortably relax. Staff adequate for normal hotel functions. Small touches pretty much dead except at the highest end of the hotel world, like lobby ice water in a pitcher with a slice of lemon.
I liked the place. I will not conjure up something to dislike. My wife and I were very pleased.
The close proximity to a number of downtown restaurants, bars and trax.
The hotel needs to be more thoroughly cleaned, the price we paid was not expensive but the room was teeny tiny and looked out upon a gravel rooftop. I understand the hotel has charm and is older but a few upgrades like the TV and cleanliness would be a big improvement.
The location The lobby and room decoration The size and the comfort of the room Very pleasant shampoo and body lotion
Bar closed at 9h30 pm Not free wifi in the room
