That there is a new hotel being built across the street which infringes on a huge part of the view of the ocean from the property; but that's not the Pelican's fault.
The option of a pool and convenient access to the beach. If you needed/wanted housekeeping, it is available. Use of facilities before checking in/checking out.
The wifi is TERRIBLE. I used all my data in 2 days because I couldn't load anything
I liked the staff. Very friendly
Bed and pillows very uncomfortable; Room itself was a bit worn.
The location of our room. No view but for the elevator a n d trash cans while others had a view over looking the pool.
The convenience to the beach and restaurants.
Location was excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfy and we enjoyed our stay. Would go back and stay again.
The room was very poorly serviced. Emperty tissue box, bed sheets not being changed even with the reminder badge on the bed. After complaining to the front desk/manager, we found our room was not vacuumed the next day and our bathroom for 3 people was left without a single towel! Cleaning supplies were forgotten to take away. When I finally talked with the manager, a dinner was offered as a compensation, which I turned down. I feel my holidays were ruined by all the inconvenience caused by the poor service, a free meal wouldn't do any justification. Hope they will improve it soon. Won't recommend it at this time.
The location is good, close to the beach, which is what we wanted.
Spring breakers were allowed to party and make noise until they decided to go to sleep (around 3am). The "security" was a 65 year old woman who hung around in the office. Another night the fire alarm was pulled around 1am. I noticed lots of other families angrily pacing in the parking lot until it was turned off.
The wifi worked reasonably well. The location is about a 10 minute walk to the beach.
A little noisy (many college-age).
Location: across from the beach
It can be very noisy. A college age group were there during our stay and were very loud at night by the pool, including breaking beer bottles in the pool area. The staff did clean up well after them.
Rooms are nice and clean with plenty of space, a kitchenette and a decently comfortable bed. Easy access to the beach as well as dining and shopping.
Loved the pool, gets sun for the whole day!
It is Spring Break so we expected some noise, however due to the patio chairs in front of every room and all the entrances facing each other, the noise was quite loud until late every night and culminated in fire alarm going off our last night. Also, families note that the beds are doubles and the sofa bed is a futon. We have 3 children and were a little snug in room. If Pelican wants families to keep coming, they might want to establish quiet hours and have a night staff person. We would love to come back next year, but due to the noise might not return to an otherwise charming, clean hotel.
Staff was awesome. Parking included in stay. Located close to the beach. Two TV's in room. Great housekeeping. Had room ready for early check in.
Major construction across the street starting at 7am. Curtains were falling down and did not close properly - need to be replaced.
Easy walk to beach and downtown area.
The 4th floor balcony view. An updated room with 2 great windows and TV. It was roomy.
Our only shortcoming was a lack of a stove and no access to a barbecue.
We enjoyed the location, the bright, clean room, and a clean welcoming pool. Local transportation was very accessible and fairly priced. We had access to Dunedin, St. Pete's , and Clearwater. Also, services- eg. Grocery store, car rental, and many restaurant choices , etc. were very accessible.
The noise level. We could hear everything our neighbours said. Construction, sirens outside woke us up in the mornings.
the location to the beach and restaurants and amenities was great! The property is dated and the walls are thin so it can be very loud at night and in the morning. It's not fancy but it does the trick if you're looking for a place to stay near everything.
The beach was right across the street so no need to pay for parking.Food and bars within a block walk.Clearwater beach is one you have to see.Everything I love.
It really needs to be upgraded, and feel clean
The location is perfect for beach, entertainment and food.
Room was good, but odd layout made it cramped, easy fix . All rooms have different layout so its hit or miss for first timers.
Staff was excellent! !
We were within walking distance of everything. Everything was clean and the staff was very nice. We would stay again.
We were in a corner room and the WiFi was not very strong.
Large clean room with nice kitchen facilities
On site parking, nice pool, homey atmosphere and a wonderful location for walking to the beach, shops and restaurants made this hotel a very desirable place to land for a vacation break!
Small pool. No hot tub.
It was close to everything I wanted to do. Pier 60, Clearwater Marine Aquarium & the Beach.
