rooms were not well cleaned. This hotel needs new paint and better house keeping staff.
Decor was drab and dated, there was a heavy aroma of cigar/cigarette smoke in the hallways
250 bucks per night, I expect better quality of service and room
the rugs in the hallway need changing
Location was good, close to Penn Station and many other subways. Everything was walking distance but the room needs a lot of work and upgrades.
Bed was uncomfortable , room looked outdated. Needs huge remodeling
Close to railroad terminal
Rooms need to be updated.
Generally poor condition of room and bathroom. Shower was difficult to adjust and wouldn't turn off. Continued to rotate. Power point on bedside lamp wouldn't hold socket.
The staff, the location
Very old hotel. Holes in the walls, no pictures on the walls, rust and mold in the bathroom, very small room, dirty carpets
Room was a bit run down.No coffee machine in room.
The bedroom was dark and dreary, sheets were clean but bed clothes smutty. The en-suite was in very poor condition, dirty around mirrors and washhand basin and cracks in the bath. No facilities whatsoever, would not compare with the 3 hotels we stayed in on the previous days of our holiday. Would never stay at this location again.
location: opposite railway and subway station. Good bed, à la carte breakfast at Lindy's or buffet at Stattler Grill downstairs.
breakfast at the hotel, waiting time for check in & out, supplement for luggage storage, wifi.
Just the location
This hotel is seriously run down and expensive with poor quality service. Everything smells rotten.
Location and the price you pay. Next to penn station and near to many attractions
Old hotel, rooms are not that great, old carpets, dust, staff attitude.
The estetic of the bathroom .
Location Room were very small, now they are much larger, so you get value for your money
No free internet services Long lines and very slow check in
Location, location, location. Very good link from Penn station to Jamaca interchange and the JFK Airtrain to the terminals. Its quick and runs early morning till late
Dreary corridoors, old carpets ...they were probable great in the 70,s. New lighting may be an economic improvement option Restricted times of tourist information desk.... availability of a New York Manhatten map after hours would be nice The information desk offered transport to JFK leaving 5 hours before your take-off ???
Proximity to Madison Square Garden
The mouse in our room? The fact that the entire hotel needed a major renovation about 30 years ago?
Location location location
Very slow to get checked in almost two hours in a queue with little staff on at check in
Beding is terrible, plaster cracking on walls, need updated and remodeled to provide value for the money spent.
the big bed in my room the size of the room
almost everything very dirty carpet in the room, shabby look everywhere in the room
The location and the look of the hotel is really amazing even the lobby amazed me when we entered fot the firts time.. Then we go to the room.. Everything is really really old ans small.. I know it's clean but because it's old it looks dirty.. But definitely value for money!! :)
near Macy and penn station.
expensive (>225$/night) compare to the quality. wait too long queue for the front desk. 2 t-shirts and book were lost from the room, noone response, no regret, no answer. no wifi, no refridge, old TV, dirty air-condition, no heater, no glass/cup, old bath basin etc
Location was just right.
Check-in was poor. Reception staff were not helpful in moving the guests to their room as soon as possible. Additional staff in the reception area could be very helpful to waiting guests. Overall the hotel reception and the rooms look tired and unattended. Bathroom plumbing not attended to regularly - drip drip drip all night no matter how tight you turned off the faucet or shower head. Staff have no concept of service.
