The only saving grace was the location - that is it
- I asked for a room facing the Empire State Building, it was not provided. - The window could not be shut so there was a very loud air vent sound just outside the window that I had to bear with for the duration of the stay - The hotel itself is dated and grotty e.g. black patches on the bath tub, old fossets and carpets. - There were very long waiting times to speak to staff at reception, several stations were not attended and yet several staff members appeared to be present doing other types of paper work ignoring the guests. - The general standard of the hotel for the price was very poor and could not justify recommending it to anyone unless being offered at a third of the price.
I got bites allover my body. Wasnt a clean hotel and the staff werent helpful
Cleanliness. Very small room. No safe. No tea coffee making facilities. Overall shabby.
It's location is prime in Manhattan
The room was dirty Bathroom had broken items and wasn't clean. There was no bathtub Bed was very hard and uncomfortable The room was small and the bed and TV gave no space to walk around. My room number was 1492 for reference. .. I was disappointed with the experience.
location, all the service in general
rooms could have a little more updated especially the beds
Was a bit costly for the hotel of this kind.
Location excellent for access to all major tourist attractions. Near to train station and easy to find tour buses.
Rooms were a little 'dated' and dingy.
Some if the front desk staff werea little rude when asked questions and also attempted to report problems with room. Not very clean and poorly maintained.
I was here for 4 nights and did not find anything good in the hotel except for the staff at the reception.
ease of getting off train and walking across street to hotel
was told included continental breakfast and it did not
the location it's good, and the staff hey are very prestative.
old rooms with very thin bed sets, the shower did't have water in the morning, no frigobar, old tv.
Location, location, location.
Paint peeling off walls, broken fixtures, poor decoration.
Location of hotel was great, very close to subway & main attractions. Spacious bedrooms.... comfortable & quite. Asked for extra towels...got plenty. People at info desk very patient and helpful
Staff at check in counter could have been more welcoming & friendly. Had a question about my room also... if the hotel had a swimming pool was told promptly 'NO' , no alternative offered. I felt I was being a nuisance. Bathroom in bad need of an up lift but serviceable
Everything! Shabby room in need of painting & cleaning. Decor. Very old. Dirty windows at the front door always...
The room was dirty and it had an unpleasant smell we had to change to another room and the bathroom looked dirty we wore not satisfied with the rooms
Location Get what you pay for
Overall internal appearance needs cleaning...example elevator carpet needs to be replaced. Rooms need desperate upgrading...example remove or replace carpets, replace rusty bath tubs, remove mould from walls, etc No free internet or wifi for guests. Musty smelling rooms
The location of the hotel is excellent as it is right in the center of the bustling city of New York. Shopping, feeding, transportation, sightseeing is made easy from this strategic location.
My stay was disturbed the day I sighted a little rat scurrying around in my room. I suggest constant fumigation considering that the building is quite old.
This is so old and run dowm they should be forced to rebuild/upgrade, etc.
location, value, room size good
bed was uncomfortable and sheets were not fitted. NO FREE WIFI!!!!!
cleanness beds rusts in the bath
Old rooms, staff didn't care about guests, were not helpful at all
Location opposite Penn Station Courtesy and Manner of staff Availability of rooms Price
Decor and cleanliness of room Unavailability do Rest room facilities in Lobby or Lower Lobby Unavailability of Free WiFi Quality of TV picture
Only thing i like was the location
Didnt like the facilitets (no freez,no microoven in the hotel) leaky bathroom tap,no free internate after paying that much money !! Felt like being back in 80s
This place was ideal for a 5 night stay in NYC. Great value for money, comfortable bed, tv with a selection of stations. Location and ease of getting around was amazing for the price we paid. Staff were polite and professional even though it is a busy hotel. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom needed modernisation but was clean and good pressure from shower. Would recommend to anyone. We stayed in 1001 and would stay there again if we were in NYC
Bathroom needed modernisation bath looked worn but cleanliness not an issue.
