Staff fantastic!!! We arrived allowed an early check in, late check out on departure as well. Rooms great, steps from nite life and the restaurant and lounge were more than adequate. Back again if ever in KC.
On arrival our rooms heater was stuck at around 76 degrees. Supplied a fan but it was warm! Deducted our bill substantially though.
Loved the entire experience at Hotel Phillips!!!
Right next to power an light district valet parking is excellent great breakfast buffet very satisfied
Picture of the room look bigger than they are an show having a couch in the room but didn't have it
That it was close to the venue.
That when we arrived that our room was almost 90 degreese. Maint had to come to the room 3-time to try & fix it! Notice I said try!
Location was very convenient
Beds were not very comfortable. Rooms were clean but not in all areas. Lots do dust in bathroom vents and on towel racks. Parking is not included in nightly rate. (22.00 per day)
First class staff at reception. Friendly and knowledgeable. Met the manager who was talking to guests at breakfast time.
Wonderful location, very clean, staff were extremely hospitable and helpful.older hotel has the advantage that you do not hear any noise from neighboring rooms.
Has an old fashioned hand basin in bathroom will strange faucet! It was my only concern as water pressure was low,but shower was great!
The building is lovely and nicely restored, the rooms are functional but retain charm, and it's location is perfect for a night out in the Power and Light District.
As someone who travels a lot and has stayed at some of the top hotels in the world, I have high expectations for hotels. That being said, their valet service needs polish and the wait is so long in the mornings. The room service menu is a bit limited if you are vegan/gluten free/etc.
The Phillips is well located in downtown KC and has valet parking for $22. The desk staff is friendly and professional. The room was clean. Enjoyed time in the 12 Baltimore lounge listening to very good jazz on Saturday night.
Did sleep OK but found the mattress to be a bit lumpy. The rooms in older hotels tend to be small, but was OK. Room could use a small fridge and safe for valuables. Bathroom had one burnt out lamp. No rubber mat in very slick tub.
Very pretty lobby, restaurant was great.
Small room phone did not work no robes in room and not a very comfortable bed
Very convenient to the Power and Light District, easy walk. Hotel was very classy and unique.
Parking was 22.00 per night but you can come and go. Typical for a downtown area I guess. There were two parking charges on our bill but they credited one no problem.
The personal service that my husband and I received on our 24th Wedding Anniversary Celebration vistit was phenomenal!! Theus and Brooklyn made special efforts to make our stay extra special!!
Location to Sprint Center. Great dining. Competively priced. Great bed!
Parking cost and wait on valet service and poor curbside design for loading/unloading luggage. Poor room temp. and air circulation control. No shower massage head.
I lived the convienence of the location, to the Sprint Center. A short 5-10 walk and we were @ our destination. If you don't want to pay for their parking, the city has a parking garage just around the corner, and it's $6.00 cheaper. I was quoted a price & that's what my bill was!! I loved this grand old hotel & would stay again at the drop of a hat!
There wasn't much bad to say? There was a broken shade piece laying in the window seal when we checked in. My wife said the shower head was stiff, but it didn't seam to other me, and finally the far right elevator seem's weak, likes its had to many people in it & the cable is stretched. So my suggestion is just use the other 2 elevators. Other than that we had a great stay and love this place.
The hotel was impressive old architectural features but modern conveniences. Location close to bars and restaurants was great.
location was good
room was dusty and a fly flying around. Room key didnt work very good. Otherwise was good.
Location, jazz music, beautiful room, comfortable bed, We were provided with excellent suggestions for dining, shopping .... Shuttle to pick us up from the jazz club was an added plus !!
We had no hot water in the bathroom sink
Loved the comfy beds. The beautiful old style hotel. Friendliness of the staff. They have a wine and cheese tasting at 5pm every day (wonderful wines and cheese). This hotel is extremely value for money without a doubt. Highly recommend it to all others without a doubt.
Very clean, nice and quiet, very courteous staff. Good job by the valet attendants. Restaurant/bar was pretty good. Delicious free chocolates.
Overnight staff didn't have enough information. Tried to schedule a massage, but the evening staff couldn't help, and the next day we were told reservations needed to be made 24 hours in advance - this was not mentioned anywhere. No fan in the bathroom which was 2 feet away from the bed. Bed was comfortable but squeaky. Phone was inoperable, so had to use cell phone and go through a transfer system to get to the front desk.
Wonderful old "botique" hotel in downtown KC. Our room was large with a king bed, nice lights for reading and quiet even though next to the elevators. We first stayed there in 1959! And today it is as nice as it was then. We will stay there again soon to take advantage of the super location close to all of the downtown clubs, restaurants and entertainment.Staff are excellent and professional.
The hotel had a classic elegance to it.
Great position for the power and light district. The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. A small but well stocked gym. TV good size and comfortable little sitting or working area.
The overall feel of the hotel is amazing and the rooms are large!
The bed was way too soft for our taste almost uncomfortable.
Great historic property in a fantastic location with a very professional staff.
Love the historic detail and location.
No fan in bathroom. Aircondition/fan really loud.
