Pine Inn - Carmel  

Location, being adjacent to many boutique shops and a major five star restaurant.

Staff was great! $5 happy hour for pizza and drinks was fantastic. Breakfast was very good

Very noisy room over kitchen. Water pressure in shower too low.

Room, cleanliness and location.

Staff is rude and unprepared to support customers during nonstandard or unexpected situations. Hotel mentions the right to private parking, however after 9 pm there are not more places available, being necessary to park on the street with a great risk of a fine, since the parking regulation are not clear. Do not rely on the parking signs painted in the street, they are useless. !!If you have a medium car parked inside the white square painted on the floor, you still need to park 18 inches from the curb. !! Well, you shouldn't be concern about it, IF the hotel provides the private parking as sold.

the Inn is old and dated, needs a redo The breakfast was dismal both days .. . we have been regular Inn clients for several yrs, but this last trip is our last visit to the Inn I would rather pay a little more and have nicer accomodations and a better breakfast even if it is only FRESH rolls and coffee

Liked the feel of boutique hotel. Especially liked attached restaurant and bar. Very cool, convenient, and under advertised by the hotel.

No complaints, although, due to design, probably would be a little warm during hot weather

Location, location, location. One of the closest to the beach.

Little air circulation coupled with limited ability to switch on fan at night since it was also tied into the overhead ligth.

I love the history and quaintness of the Pine Inn and its location is perfect for Carmel Village.

Their Il Fornaio restaurant is very attractive but the food is sub par.

Environment, very helpful and friendly staff, great breakfast, interesting shops and the ocean.

Our room was too small, we could not walk around the room at the same time. The charge for the coffee before breakfast. I think the lobby could have coffee for early risers.

We arrived before check-in time, and our room was not ready as we had anticipated. Still, staff was very apologetic. Noting from the reservation that it was our 51st Wedding Anniversary that day, they upgraded our room! It was beautiful, and we were really touched. I would reserve that same room again, even at the higher rate. In addition, the wonderful bell boy, Roberto, brought up a chilled bottle of champagne - compliments of the hotel. Every time we requested assistance - with a cab, etc. - the desk staff person was very helpful and friendly. Complimentary breakfast at the lovely Il Fornaio Restaurant (located in the Pine Inn complex) was varied and excellent. Our anniversary vacation was just perfect! Thank you, Pine Inn. The location is excellent. Right in the heart of Carmel and walking distance to beach.

Our room was too hot. Could not turn off heater. Hotel staff unable to turn off either.

Great location. Great staff. Quaint, old fashioned hotel. Loved Il Fornio.

Our only criticism is that the shower head in our room was not adjustable, and could not be used to wash long hair.

Ambience

Needed to change rooms because ceiling fan too noisy ("fixed" myself in the middle of the night). Requested another room next morning and received one. Would have appreciated some offer of compensation.

We've stay before and loved it. Room was small but old world charm and view of ocean and Ocean Ave was delightful

It was soo noisy we had trouble sleeping. Lots of banging and klanking, maybe it's above the restaurant, not sure. The bed is advertised as a queen but it is very small and felt like a double. Our room #16 was way in the back and on a slant. We were very disappointed. We did enjoy the breakfast.

Everyone was very pleasant and accommodating. Really felt welcome.
