Found path to beach
The beds were narrow and sloped. The curtains and tapistry were torn.
The whole atmosphere of the place was relaxed! From the friendly staff to the golf course & pools overlooking the beach, this resort oozed relaxation!
Nothing to dislike about this place, we had a thoroughly enjoyable time!
Easy beach access, great staff, many well organized activities
It was hard to tell location of room booking on line. A quick phone call to resort would clear that up and then can book online. Lots bigger since we last went in 1980 - to be expected - but we missed the old island charm.
Clean comfortable room. Great views. Accommodating staff.
Quiteness & friendly staff.
Prices at the restaurants were very expensive & especially the breakfast.
Love the Sea School for kids and access to restaurants, pools, beach. This is our third time at South Seas and it is great!
I loved the area around and near the pool. Pristine, beautiful, palm trees and beautifully manicured lawns, lots of flowers and green foliage. Very tropical looking in that area.
We had a villa on the opposite end from the pool. Plain looking buildings and grounds. Not very pretty or tropical looking. Needs a makeover with landscaping on that end. Also lobby should be much more tropical. Its the first place to make an impression. Bland looking walking into lobby. I am paying to feel like I am in the Carribbean. The North end of the property is pretty great and tropical looking. The rest needs a makeover. The restaurant by the pool (I think its called the Pointe) needs some redecorating inside and improved service. Each time I walked in I had to search for someone to seat me outside and take my order.
I truly enjoyed the beach area, the privacy of the resort and the amenities such as pool, restaurants and North Pointe area. We were there "off season" and there were not a lot of children!
Wish the restaurant choices weren't such a distance from one another. Perhaps menus on a closed circuit channel within the hotel and guest rooms.
Beach, and resort were beautiful, apartment, was clean and comfortable.
Got the impression that the main priority was to separate the guests from as many dollars as possible... 9 holes of golf with club hire and buggy $180.00, I can play 18 on an absolutely top course for that anywhere in the world, so a little disappointed to say the least!
The beach The appartments
It's too far from publix or big shopping
location and room
front desk person not helpful and having to leave early because of a kid triathalon closing down the roads out of the resort
Rooms were a little tired and I booked a king bed and got 2 queens. Room could have been cleaner.
I liked everything. High recommended. Very good place
The Florida weather is inconsistent.
Beach facilities and staff were excellent. Location good as was WiFi connectivity
accommodation a little tired. Some of the kitchen facilities were lacking. Main pool over subscribed. daily fee mandatory for facilities and charged per person - made up 1/3 of accommodation booking cost pre extras
Great beach, at walking distance, with beautiful sunsets. Rooms with fully equiped kitchen.
You need a car to get around, including to the central pools, which have slides for the kids but otherwise overcrowded. Pool near room is basic, as in a motel.
beautiful grounds awesome pools nice room killer views
distance between things beach was not very clean (garbage)
Awesome beaches. Great restaurants, excellent service, and adequate parking. Excursion to Cayo Caso for shelling and snorkeling was amazing!!!
Checking in was horribly slow. Housekeeping arranged our personal items excessively. Beach attendant on Sunday was rude. Cabbage Key excursion was boring unless you were a senior citizen .
Perfect location! The resort is beautiful and services comprehensive. Love the access to pools and beach! Kay Casperson Spa a definite plus for me!!! Would highly recommend!
Fireworks not available on the resort. Had to travel elsewhere to view unless I wanted to watch on TV.
great staff, esp housekeeping and the bike rental guys and the pool people loved the 4th of July pool party beautiful grounds, landscaping trolley service was good
linens were paper/rubber - ick give each room some spray for the no-seeums. we got chewed alive more complimentary fun things for kids, everything shouldn't cost $$$ communication was poor; didn't know about events until they were happening or over (bayside marina guest; we felt a little 2nd rate, not as "VIP" as the North Pointe people
the pillows in the bedroom were way to thick, hurt our neck and also the sofa in the living room wasnt comfortable...too deep.
I booked Captiva Villa.
Our commendation were not what our images showed.
Loved the convenience of having a marina for our boat although extremely hard to get in/out. The bay and gulf access was great. The housekeeping staff extremely friendly.
Extremely disappointed in our room. Outdated, paid for bay view room, had a marina view, very pricy. You had to drive to everything. My husband and I had no agenda, do what we want when we wanted to. Unfortunately, all restaurants close on the entire island at 9:30. You better get there by 8:30 or you either won't get served or the service you get is hostile. Very disappointing! I expected so much more paying top $$ for this "resort". Won't return.
beaches, general atmosphere
dock for fishing fishing rental stuff
The so called "Villas" are actually apartments built probably in the 80's and they have not been updated since then. Smell of mold and mildew in the apartments. Loud and bad mannered crowd at the beach. Not a real hotel but some sort of apt rentals with house cleaning services. How can't this be a 4 stars lodge?
