Very close to Cobo congress centre Spacious hotel room with nice views on river and Windsor Helpful staff
Room cleaning could have been better Bar not open during daytime and closes rather early Breakfast rather limited
it was very close to the Cobo Center
Noisy elevators, could hear them at night in my bed at the other end of the hall, even though the staff did change rooms from next to the elevators. Dining facility marginal at best. Poor decor, uncomfortable with limited menu.
Friendly staff. Helpful with questions and directions. not intrusive.
location of hotel near business area
room next to elevator very expensive
view from our room, food in restaurant
noisy elevator sounded like jackhammer ruined sleep, clerk said it was my fault for asking to be near elevator. really?? the noise was extreme and not normal. carpet in room was dirty.
Very nice place and close to the people mover.
Parking and the ability to check in.
I liked the staff,very attentive & helpful
One block from the people mover
We arrived 2 hours after check in and still had to wait over an hour in line before check in and they weren't properly staffed someone pulled the alarm at 3am. Just awful
Just seconds away from the Detroit people mover, easy to get around
Waited 1 1/2 hours to check in, they were understaffed and didn't have enough people to clean the rooms
convenience to downtown and staff was very heplful
Bathroom was dirty and toilet plugged before we even got there
The staff did a great job with what they had to work with. The staff was responsive and personable and attentive. The property was clean and neat. The location is very close to the People mover so getting around was not a problem. The free buffet breakfast was decent and the wait staff was pleasant and helpful. If you want a clean place to lay your head, and amenities and décor are not a big deal, then I would recommend this hotel for you.
Our first room had a phone that did not work and no hot water. They finally found a suite for us 3 hours later. The Mgr told us he would take $50 off the bill, but that did not happen. It was hard to believe I was in a Crowne plaza. The property is in need of a Major renovation. Much of the décor is very dated and some carpets and furniture has visible signs of wear and tear. However, the property is very clean, but not what you have in mind when you hear 4 Star hotel. There is no safe in the room, There is a charge of $25 per night for parking. If you are a person who is looking for a modern or upscale environment then I would not recommend this hotel for you. I also would not recommend this hotel if you are planning on more than an overnight stay.
Entire staff was great and accommodating. From our first encounter with valet parking to the front desk staff everyone was friendly and welcoming and seemed genuinely happy to help us in any way. Also met staff in elevator who was very friendly.
Pool area was too warm for the watching parent. Felt like a sauna.
Location, access to Detroit People Mover, valet parking
The wifi was awful, and the cable wasn't much better. Wifi really matters when you're traveling, and trying to find things to do in the area.
The staff was awesome.
It was kind of crowded but still ok
Staff were so nice! Love this location!
Prefer 2 queen size beds in rooms.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room decor was really pretty and we loved the views of the water and city. Rooms had great amenities. Convenient to the people mover.
Pool was very small and the bathrooms were very small. For the price I was a bit surprised at this.
Great view of riverfront and COBO, very attentive, efficient valet staff, ease/speed of check-in.
At check in, there were Front desk staff discussing other guests while I was standing there being checked in. My desk agent was a little bit short with me, when talking to me about potential noise, and there was a typo on the doc that was shared.
Sharp design/layout of hotel Nice staff Great selection of bath products
Telephone in room didn't work Lamp didn't work when we entered room and lad to leave bedroom light on when we went out for dinner so we could see where we were going when we returned to the room in the dark. Construction blocking our return at night and had a VERY difficult time getting around a very bad neighborhood into the entrance. Valet should have told us that Washington St. would be closed and given direction to alternate route to Latner Street.
I liked the bathroom and the view.
The wallpaper seemed old, maybe some renovations would help!
Net for bad service
Pretty nice hotel. Had been many years since I was last there.
Food was rather expensive, and there was not much of a selection. We also had some problems with the t.v. Parking was also expensive-$25.00 per day.
elevators very slow
I enjoyed my entire 2day stay at the crowne plaza. The staff were very nice :) I will be returning soon !! 5 stars
1. The entryway was too narrow. 2. Double doors to bath is a bad idea. It looks charming but the light switch is difficult to reach until the door is closed and then due to the darkness it is difficult to find. The left door will only stay closed by a sliding latch at the top that isn't aligned well; so I tried to manage with that door closed, but the right door was much narrower than a standard door which made the passage awkward. 3. I took the stairs to exit at the back drop off area but the door would not open more than about 6 inches. I barely squeezed out to see that the valet office door was propped open against it. This is a fire escape danger. 4. I asked for a river view and was told "sure, we have one for you," but I was put in a room around the side of the building and could not see much of the river.
