The location, staff and ambiance
Trash dumping on the street at 6am, the noisiest heater I have ever heard, and my room was filled with wood smoke all night from the neighbor's wood fire
Dim lighting in teeny bathroom. Could have served coffee in lobby in the mornings.
Bed was comfortable Very southwestern looking.
Bathroom very small. No elevator, had to lug luggage up 2 floors. Not a problem but know there is no food at the hotel.
Off the main square, room was out of the way.
Noisy water when trying to sleep, noisy ac system, no seating in the room except table chairs
Loved the quaint deco and atmosphere of the lobby, our room and the front patio. Also appreciated how close the hotel is to the plaza. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful!
Too early for garbage/recycling pick up. This woke us and our dog up from a fabulous sleep. Paid parking of $18 is over priced. Could not connect to wifi. Would have loved it if instructions and password were given to us at check in.
The location is excellent. Good Parking available for an extra charge. Rooms are a comfortable mini suite arrangement. We live about an hour and a half from Santa Fe and occasionally need to stay over there.. Hotel Chimayo has become our 1st choice.
The property is rather dated, although I suppose a bit of nostalgia works fine for a night or 2.
Excellent location for Santa Fe plaza. Very helpful staff. The rooms were comfortable and the bed was very comfortable. Quiet and felt like being in Europe or Mexico as regards the architecture and courtyard style.
Just minor things. Cleaning staff seemed a little new and maybe slightly inexperienced, but pleasant and helpful.
The location was right downtown!
There were stairs in the room that evidently connected to an adjoining room downstairs but were of no use to us and just took up a huge amount of space.
Convenience to plaza. Nice comfortable size rooms.
Room could have used some renovation. Light bulbs in coffee area needed to be replaced. Drapery rod in living area needed fixing. Rates are a little pricey. AC very noisy when running
Location is great and the rooms are comfortable. The staff is trying to make improvements and the building requires some upgrading.
booking.com quoted a price of $828 for three nights and yet I was finally charged $1,023. The difference could be in taxes and the $18 a day charged for parking in their underground parking lot. I was somewhat disappointed in the upcharge since I thought $800 was pretty steep just because it's a heritage property.
Location was great, 1 block from the square.
The rooms are showing their age; time for an update. But clean.
Convenient location, walk to most restaurants, museums and shops. Great front porch for sitting and relaxing. Friendly staff and nice lobby bar. Would stay here again.
The bed was very comfortable. We had 2 rooms so that the person who was up did not disturb the one sleeping.
The air conditioner was very loud, like a truck coming through the room. It woke us up every time it came on.
Quaint, quiet. Very pleasant staff. Definitely saw improvements from last stay.
Very few amenities.
Right on the Plaza but very peaceful and calm. Beautiful furniture and art. Warm and very helpful staff. I will definitely stay here again!!!!
No restaurant as represented. Not enough parking capacity. Worn towels. Terrible bar entertainment. Poor Wi-Fi
I had the Junior Suite and I was impressed by the sitting area and the bed with all the pillows was wonderful after walking so much. The whole hotel is well maintained and staff is very well trained and polite.
The bathroom was a little small if there is more than one person but the building is old and bathrooms weren't what is expected today.
Excellent location. Walking distance to the plaza, canyon road, museums, many excellent restaurants. Friendly front desk. Rustic decor of the hotel gave you a feel of sante fe. Would recommend this hotel, and would definitely stay here next time in sante fe.
Not having breakfast, and paying for parking $16 per day plus tax. With that being said it was much less expensive than many surrounding hotels.
Great location and bar
The Restraunt closes spring to fall
Nice size room. Quiet. Nice decor. Perfect location.
Location , safe underground parking. Close to the square and shopping
Air conditioner was not working but was brought a fan . Decor was a little dated but room was clean.
Location was perfect but that is where it stopped.
We were travelling with a dog and got a weird room on the third floor. To find places to relieve the dog was a challenge.most green areas were off limits for dogs so every time we had to walk several blocks to find a place. Our room had an inside staircase to nowhere! No breakfast was offered and the restaurant on site was closed. The other problem was parking in a garage close by and trying to transfer our luggage from there to our room on the third floor. I guess the reason we got this room was because of a special deal but they mentioned the fact that it was a dog assigned room
The location was very convenient to the square.
The photos on the booking.com site were deceptive from the room itself. First, the rooms were very cramp even for two people. The bathroom was extremely small. Half the space in the room was taken by a stairwell that was in the center for emergency exiting if needed. The furniture could have used updating and parking under the hotel was full on Friday and Saturday nights although they charge for parking. The shared balcony was actually a walk through outside hall with no other way to get to the rooms. At night, the rooms were stuffy and hot supposedly because the hotel system is either air conditioning or heat and because of the the recent cool temps, they would not switch it to air. From what I could see in Santa Fe, I feel there were better hotels for the same or about the same price as the Chimayo de Santa Fe.
The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The rooms have great Santa Fe charm, are very spacious and clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. My whole group agreed! You couldn't ask for a more convenient location being right on the Plaza. And overnight parking was only $16/night.
The bathrooms were a little tight, but it was never an issue. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
