location excellent cleanliness per sonal nice
water on carpet, mushrooms on carpet very noisy
Location is perfect!!
It's very old building. So, lock of the door didn't work very well. I had to ask the staff to open or lock the door.
very good stay madeline, sydney
The pool was nice
The beds were very small and my daughters both got multiple big bites.
It's a good location and $99 a night is quite good for that... but I guess there's a reason it's so cheap - as it sucked at the most basic things - like me being able to get into the hotel at night-time to check in....
I was only staying 1 night, and arrived to check in at 2am (due to my flight time), having sent an email to give prior notice of the late arrival of my flight - and when I got there, the hotel was completely locked up and there was no buzzer! There was no response to my loud repeated banging on the door and rattling the door against the lock - for 10-15 minutes. So I was left in the street, on my own with all my luggage (exhausted after a long flight from Fiji) at 2am, completely at a loss to know what to do. I was pretty upset, and almost had to resort to finding somewhere else to stay. But after a while THANK GOODNESS at that time of night! one of the guests went onto the balcony to have a cigarette and I shouted up, and even though he didn't speak English and I must have seemed a bit crazy, he came and let me in. Turned out there was someone on reception. I can't believe they didn't hear me knocking. And I told her I'd been out there for ages and felt a little upset as I had emailed my arrival time in advance, and was really surprised to find the place locked up - and the reception lady was then really rude to me! So I do not recommend this place to anyone. That must be some of the worst customer service I've ever had.
hotel is heavyly overpriced as it is going to be renovated and just the most necessary maintainance is done. half the price would be a reasonable value for this hotel at the moment
Short walk to beach. Great location. Right in the middle of great shopping and restaurants.
Parking is a bit inconvenient. Time to replace the old tube televisions.
The hotel is old and really needs a refreshment!
Their service staff was very nice. Did have a problem with the air conditioner; they offered me a large fan until repair could be accomplished. Stayed in a studio which was nice, had kitchenette w/dishes, etc, plus toaster & coffee maker & microwave. If I get back to Honolulu someday, I will definitely try to book a room here again! Mahalo for all of your help & suggestions!!!!!
It was a little hard to locate on the return from my first walk about because it doesn't stand out with signs or large decoration, but after I figured out what to look for, it was easy.
Offered a king size bed which was made up of two short singles. I'm 6 foot I had to sleep diagonally across the bed. Also the shower door didn't close. At max. My room would get 3.0 stars. Otherwise the room served its purpose.
Location, kitchen & laundry facilities, good size rooms though a bit dated.
Cigarette smell in the corridors.
We liked that it was so close to shops.
Great location. walking distance to beach and shopping, bus stop at walking distance., price reasonable compared to other hotels in the area
Swimming pool inaccessible due to maintenance, no kettle or tea bags even when asked, blinds were broken
Didn't have high expectations but was delightfully surprise! The staff were lovely, rooms were clean our room gotfree wifi from the pool area and the bed was lovely and comfy. Much better than expected and excellent value for money.
The hotel wasn't fancy but clean.
The staff are all friendly and helpful. Its closed to everything
the location of the hotel was very good, close to the beach and the main road and it also had a balcony which is nice to sit out on in the afternoons.
their is nothing l really didnt like about the property.
The location is excellent
The building is very old
hard to find
Location, elevators, staff helpfulness, spacious room. Library and lounges on the floors. Icemaker
Everything about the shower, total lack of outlets, towels and linens, floors...broken tiles, nasty carpet, all furniture, ugly everything . No phone or any other perks. Coffee only furnished on the first morn. No toiletries except soap and then you had to ask for it.
the property was ideally situated near main shopping, and it happened to be the Honolulu festival, so was in a perfect position for parade
the dreadful smell, had to move rooms, the second one was better but still not good, musty, bad drain smell!!
The location is very good within Waikiki. No need of a car. It has a big balcony and allows sleeping in open air, instead of closed air conditioned rooms, which is wasteful and really NOT needed in Hawaii generally. Staff is OK. Nice pool area with lots of greenery and places to sit. Has a small kitchenette with well-working fridge.
Almost everything is really outdated and not always very clean, the beds are small and not very comfortable. Not very cozy. Confusing information about deposits. Cost/quality ratio one of the worst I've experienced in my extensive travels. I would generally not recommend it.
the location: 10 minutes walking to convention center or waikiki center
the bed were way too soft. in the mainland that would be a 50$ motel. in waikiki it is 3 times more. no free wifi included ! come on it is 2014. room on the street side are very noisy starting at 0600am, like if there were no windows at all.
Location and the kitchenett facilities.
No phones in the room and no complimentary continental breakfast.
Can't beat the location for the price even had a pool for guests. Close to ABC stores which were open until midnight, close to dollar car rentals (5min stroll) the beach is a block away!
The ancient key system, which didn't work on the outside back door after 10.30 pm when it was locked. Swipe key systems would be far more efficient.
Very good location and a good value for the money. Some of the staff were very helpful to us.
Unfortunately, our flight from the mainland was canceled due to weather and we called the hotel to advise. We were told that they would hold our room. We also contacted them after the second day flight cancelation. When we arrived late (11 p.m.) in the evening on our third booked night we were told that our room was not available. After much haggling and asking to speak to the manager it was decided to put us in a suite room for a reasonable price. Fortunately, it worked out satisfactorily for us.
