The 2 small air conditioning units seemed to have a condensation problem, as there were puddles just under them inside the room, under the carpeting. The building itself, was rather old and I almost missed the main Entrance
As it is located in between 2 retail store fronts. However once you walk through a hallway, it opens up on a small but very lovely tropical setting with a nice swimming pool area. The building was rather old, but the rooms were clean comfortable and updated. One last thing the parking is off site about 1/2 a block up the street from the hotel, there were no bellmen, that I saw and no area that you could actually pull up, in front of the hotel to unload. So if you have very young children , older people, lots of luggage or a combination of any of these, it could be difficult getting everything and everyone in and out of the hotel. Still I feel that this hotel is a great value for the cost. And awere planning on going back for a longer stay, later this year.
The location was great, right on the main street, Kalakaua Ave. There was a nice lanai that runs the full length of the room, you can access this balcony area by either of the 2 sliding glass doors in the room. Once you step out, the lanai area is large and the railing comes almost all the way to the floor, making it a safe area to take our little dig for some air. This area overlooks the main strip, a nice bonus. We stayed in the penthouse suite, and the room, was huge! There is a walk in closet in the master suite that is also huge! There was plenty of room for 4 adults (my husband and I & our two teenagers)and our small dog. The king size bed in the master suite and the 2 fulls that are in the adjoining room were clean and comfortable. One note, there isn't a door or partition separating the 2 sleeoing areas. For us as a family this wasn't really an issue. The staff was friendly and polite. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, were planning on staying for a full weekend in October!
