service room quality was poor - blinds don't close or open, electricity doesn't work, tap leaks, shower leaks all day, aircon doesn't work bed poor room maintenance very poor location is the worst - traffic too noisy We don't recommend this hotel to anyone!
The location was good.
Everything was dirty and outdated. Stains and exposed electrical wiring throughout the room. No key cards, this place uses real keys, no joke. It looks and smells like a old delapedated prostitute motel. If you fly in please do not book this place, I lived in Hawaii and only needed fir a few hours for new years. This place should be condemned. It doesn't have a phone in the room and has a 13 inch quasar tv from the early 90's. I have lived in Hawaii for 5 years and that was the wrist hotel I've lived in fit over a decade and that includes mainland hotels. It's really that bad, the pictures include other buildings and show angles that hides the stains and broken outdated furniture. No parking either so prepare to walk. Never again.
Good kitchen area in the room for self cooking. Room was very spacious. Walking distance to the beach
Check in sharp 3pm. I was there at 11 and had to wait. Even ten to 3 my room was not ready. WiFi is not free. The free WiFi in the pool area is from a restaurant and not very reliable. The whole furniture and stuff looks old, they should really think about renewing them
Although this is obviously an older Hotel the position is unbeatable. The main shopping district is just outside the door. Great position to be picked up for Tours and close to all Public Transport. this was our Second trip to Hawaii and we didn't hesitate to stay hear again.
I asked for a quiet room...and they gave us a room quite noisy. Actually all the rooms with the window to the main street are super noisy. But they changed the room for us and that one was great.
the kitchen need bit more utensils. In general the whole hotel looks 80's it need a renew for sure but regarding the prices in waikiki was very good.
This place is good if you're staying in Honolulu for few nights. Location is excellent, 10 min walk from Waikiki beach
We stayed in the room facing the street and it was extremely noisy. Window blinds were broken, expect to be woken up with the light in the morning (but maybe that was just our room)
This hotel is outdated!
Old hotel needs major renivation.
About a 5 min walk to the beach, surrounded by 5-star hotels. The price seemed good for where it was. Managed to get free (albeit slow) wifi from a generous local business (ask Reception) - you may need to be on the pool side of the hotel. Room a good size. Actual kitchen facilities - microwave, toaster, two hot plates, crockery and cutlery.
If you freak out over peeling paint, cracked tiles and ham-fisted plastering repairs, this place may not suit. I thought it ok though - just. At random, the lift stopped either 2 cms short of, level with, or 2 cms above the floor. Though it was amusing to watch new guests sprawl out into the corridor.
This is a tiny hotel in the shadow of the Trump Hotel complex. The good news was that the hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and that the hotel is close to everything in Waikiki, especially a bar with cheap yet good mai tai's.
Now for the bad news. The room furnishings were really shabby. The amenities were well below what is expected in this price range. They even managed to misplace my booking.com reservation. The "official" excuse was that they were renovating the hotel. Yeah, right.
The Staff was excellent. A hostel stay would be better for the price.
Room itself was rundown, old beds, old linen, old furniture, old wallpaper, electrical sockets old and few, old carpet, old window shades...
location excellent cleanliness per sonal nice
water on carpet, mushrooms on carpet very noisy
Location is perfect!!
It's very old building. So, lock of the door didn't work very well. I had to ask the staff to open or lock the door.
very good stay madeline, sydney
The pool was nice
The beds were very small and my daughters both got multiple big bites.
It's a good location and $99 a night is quite good for that... but I guess there's a reason it's so cheap - as it sucked at the most basic things - like me being able to get into the hotel at night-time to check in....
I was only staying 1 night, and arrived to check in at 2am (due to my flight time), having sent an email to give prior notice of the late arrival of my flight - and when I got there, the hotel was completely locked up and there was no buzzer! There was no response to my loud repeated banging on the door and rattling the door against the lock - for 10-15 minutes. So I was left in the street, on my own with all my luggage (exhausted after a long flight from Fiji) at 2am, completely at a loss to know what to do. I was pretty upset, and almost had to resort to finding somewhere else to stay. But after a while THANK GOODNESS at that time of night! one of the guests went onto the balcony to have a cigarette and I shouted up, and even though he didn't speak English and I must have seemed a bit crazy, he came and let me in. Turned out there was someone on reception. I can't believe they didn't hear me knocking. And I told her I'd been out there for ages and felt a little upset as I had emailed my arrival time in advance, and was really surprised to find the place locked up - and the reception lady was then really rude to me! So I do not recommend this place to anyone. That must be some of the worst customer service I've ever had.
hotel is heavyly overpriced as it is going to be renovated and just the most necessary maintainance is done. half the price would be a reasonable value for this hotel at the moment
Short walk to beach. Great location. Right in the middle of great shopping and restaurants.
Parking is a bit inconvenient. Time to replace the old tube televisions.
The hotel is old and really needs a refreshment!
Their service staff was very nice. Did have a problem with the air conditioner; they offered me a large fan until repair could be accomplished. Stayed in a studio which was nice, had kitchenette w/dishes, etc, plus toaster & coffee maker & microwave. If I get back to Honolulu someday, I will definitely try to book a room here again! Mahalo for all of your help & suggestions!!!!!
It was a little hard to locate on the return from my first walk about because it doesn't stand out with signs or large decoration, but after I figured out what to look for, it was easy.
Offered a king size bed which was made up of two short singles. I'm 6 foot I had to sleep diagonally across the bed. Also the shower door didn't close. At max. My room would get 3.0 stars. Otherwise the room served its purpose.
Location, kitchen & laundry facilities, good size rooms though a bit dated.
Cigarette smell in the corridors.
We liked that it was so close to shops.
Great location. walking distance to beach and shopping, bus stop at walking distance., price reasonable compared to other hotels in the area
Swimming pool inaccessible due to maintenance, no kettle or tea bags even when asked, blinds were broken
Didn't have high expectations but was delightfully surprise! The staff were lovely, rooms were clean our room gotfree wifi from the pool area and the bed was lovely and comfy. Much better than expected and excellent value for money.
The hotel wasn't fancy but clean.
