The room was filthy with peeling paint, a smoke alarm barely hanging in the ceiling, bugs, door handles and hardware barely attached, with missing screws. The linens reeked of mildew, and only a handful of the lights in the room worked. The bathroom was mildewed, the shower drain missing hardware and covered in filth. The Bates motel would have looked like a 5 star competition when viewed after staying at the Port LaBelle. If I didn't have a mandatory event to attend, and this wasn't the only hotel available because everything else was booked up, I would have immediately left and paid any sum of money to find another place to stay. The filth I experienced at a Tough Mudder the following day was a walk in the park compared to my 8 hours at this hotel. The pictures I took of the room were laughable in that absolutely disgusting and depressing kind of way. AVOID AT ALL EXPENSES.
There isn't a single thing I can say that I liked about this establishment. I can't believe that I stayed here, and I can't believe that booking.com failed in making it known how absolutely run down, filthy, and what an abomination the Port Labelle Inn is. I couldn't have imagined how this could have been worse.
