The room was very clean and pretty comfortable. Good value for the money. Front desk night man and morning girl were both helpful and friendly. WiFi worked great. Room had nice retro decor The front desk area and exterior of the building are kind of skanky. Could use some freshening up in main areas.

convenience to Providence Hospital (3 miles) Towels in our room were threadbare and ripped. One had a stain. The next day we had fluffy new towels. This was a lazy oversight!! The first towels wouldn't have been found in any staff members home!! Maybe their garage.

The location is very convenient, right off of 205. The evening desk clerk is very nice and accommodating. He immediately recognized me and my husband from our one night stay several months ago. They had "lost" our reservation when we arrived. We found out that the night clerk that was there when our reservation came through the previous night walked out on the job possibly taking our booking information (and credit card information) with him. The owner/manager would not honor the late checkout we had arranged for. Because of this we were not able to attend the appointment we had scheduled and was the entire reason for the trip in the first place. He effectively made us drive 200 miles each way and pay for a night in his hotel FOR NOTHING! He was exceptionally rude to us when we tried to explain this. At the last minute he changed his mind and said he would honor the late check-out when we had already missed our appointment!

My daughter and I stayed at Chestnut Tree Inn for 2 nights. The beds were comfortable it was quiet and clean ,the staff was all very friendly and helpful. Loved the coffee downstairs in the morning. Would recommend it and would stay there again. Very reasonable prices. Stayed in other motels while inPortland ,Chestnut tree Inn was the best. Some of the other motels we stayed at during our stay in Portland had ridiculous rules and I feel when they advertise a price per night it should be based on double occupancy or I consider that false advertisement . Chestnut Tree Inn did give reasonable rates based on double occupancy .. Thank you from Brenda and Shannon from Vancouver B.C.

We liked the location, it was clean, price was good We couldn't take a shower because there was no hot water in our room or did the water drain out. We came back to stay the next night or early the next morning and there was a older gentleman that was working, and was outside having a smoke when we got there, but he continued to stand there and smoke when I was waiting in the lobby for him. Eventually I went out to him and asked about a room, and he said no rooms available. Which there was because we called. He wasn't a veryfriendly person.

It was cheap. Close to major highway and airport water pressure a bit weak but that seems to be the standard in Portland based on the few places I have stayed

The room was okay, the staff and check in/out was easy. The room was clean and the wi-fi worked very well. It was very noisy, with hotel residents constantly hanging out and talking loudly in front of our door. The remote control was missing and the front desk could not provide another one.

The staff was very helpful, the room was clean and quiet, the location was a short walk from transit, the price was good for the value received. More tv channel options....direct tv was installed but not available. The advertised breakfast was negligible.

This motel was easy to find and close to our family where we were visiting. This was our worst motel experience ever. We asked for a non-smoking room and were given one but a previous person had been smoking in there. It was freadful and motel staff only offered to spray the room. We are sensitive to smells and declined the spray -- had no idea what it was. The sheets had old blood stains and the TV did not work. The bad smell was the worst aspect and the staff offered us nothing -- no other rooms available in any other nearby motel so we were stuck there and it was a very bad experience. I asked for a refund of our money and was told, "NO!" The whole place felt unsafe and there was no 2nd door lock.

Staff were friendly and helpful The continental breakfast was not available on at least one morning during our stay. It would have been nice to have healthier options at the continental breakfast. Our room was clean but had a stale smell as if it might have been a smoking room in the past.
