Convience to Little Italy Several light bulbs burned out in my room, no maid service our 2nd day, elevator problems.....we were stuck in between 4th and 5th floor for 10 minutes. I will not stay there again!

The staff were excellent, friendly & efficient. The roof terrace is a great asset. The parking charges of $22 per day was in my view excessive. No pool

Great hotel for the money. You want fancier? Go pay 280 for a room. We paid 160 for a King size on a Saturday night and it was a 5 minute drive from 5th Ave (where all the bars/clubs are). Perfect for a place where much all you will do is sleep and shower.

The location was perfect. I also liked the design The pillows were horrible ... they were too think and hard, when I asked for a different pillow, I was first told there were no other pillows. I pushed the staff to look for a different pillow. What I ended up with was an old lumpy pillow.

The rooms were very unique and clean. I loved the vaulted ceilings and window in the bathroom that provided abundant light. It was a good location for dining & shopping and walking distance to the trolly/train. The jets were fun to watch land and it wasn't noisy at all. When we arrived, the staff was not as friendly as they could have been. I was not given a welcome cocktail coupon. The website was very misleading and not at all like what we ended up with. I upgraded my room to get the microwave/cooler and paid extra. When we got to our room, the cooler was missing. The staff told me that they didn't have any more. The website showed pictures of lounging areas and yoga on the rooftop, but this whole area was under construction. A fight broke out on the balcony of the courtyard which is surrounded by five floors of rooms and not one staff member showed up to diffuse the situation. I would not recomend this hotel until all construction is done and they pay for the economy room. Also, beware they add taxes when you get the bill.

Cool wall art and nice city views from the fifth floor balcony. Each room on the fifth floor had outdoor medium sized balconies, not sure about the other floors. We came into our room and there was a small gift basket with someone else's name on the card. That was kinda weird. The bathroom was half cleaned, meaning there were new towels and soap for us, but, for example, in the shower, were the old shampoo and soap bottles used prior from the other tenant and there were pee stains on the toilet seat. Good luck on finding parking on the streets. And it's $22 a day in their garage, even for the occupants!

Not only does this hotel have a fun culture and upbeat atmosphere, they also really know how to take care of their guests in even the most undesirable circumstances. I was left stranded in San Diego with the recent power outage and decided to stay at the Porto Vista because of their positive reputation and they well surpassed my expectations! They created a comfortable ambiance on their roof deck with candle light and grilled a complimentary dinner for guests to enjoy while admiring the sunset views. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and, despite it all, able to make the best out of an unfavorable situation!

The location was very nice, the design of the rooms was nice. My room was a LOT smaller than what I paid for. There was no "deluxe" about it. Our coffee maker was broken. There was no fridge. No parking. No pool. And our balcony was dirty with cigarette buts EVEN THOUGH it clearly says no smoking.

The facade of the hotel is modern and impressive. Lovely restaurant upstairs looks out over the bay. The rooms themselves are a little dated, apparently the hotel is a converted Comfort Inn and there is a distinct 'Motel' feel to the rooms which is a shame as the lobby and restaurant are modern. The layout of the rooms reminded us of My Name is Earl.
