Quiet, private room, great new interior. Big comfy bed. Fridge was abit noisy, and breakfast a little dull, but not big things to worry about. |

The rooms were very comfortable and the modern, updated look was fabulous. Looking at the hotel's exterior it is not obvious how updated the rooms are. Loved the spacious two queen beds. Nice choice of bed covers. |

Rooms are very clean and surprisingly nice. The outside of the hotel is not impressive but the rooms are great. The hotel did not have a double room reserved for us, even though we specifically stated that when booking. We were forced to stay in a smoking room, as it was the only double left, and hotel staff blamed us for the mistake, even though we had the paperwork proving we signed up for a double room. The rates were ridiculously expensive - not worth the price. |

The location was good. It is not in a bad neighborhood which is important for LA. Comfortable and clean rooms. Breakfast was included in price. The hotel is next to the road. The rooms on the road side can be a bit noisy. Breakfast was not very impressive. |

The old saying that you should not judge a book by the cover applies to the Portofino Inn. The outside appearance took me back to the 1970's. This does not imply the inn looked distressed but just dated. The clerks working behind the desk were very helpful and accomodating. The room was exactly as described by previous reviews. It was very clean, updated furnishings, plasma TV & comfortable bed. |
