not that much
The place is in renovation, but not even try to seem correct. Our bedroom was on the street, 2nd floor, hopefully we had ear plugs.
A great location for a great price, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Work to refit the lights was going on in the corridors, but apart from the appearance (plastic sheeting, etc) this in no way affected my stay.
Location was terrific
Everything between the door of your room and the outside door was messy and dirty. The construction work that was being done didn't make it better...
Close to union square
It was under construction
The hotel was undergoing renovation, exposed wiring and plumbing in the hallways. Fairly expensive for the poor standard.
The hotel staff was very kind. The hotel receipt saves you 20 Bucks a night on parking. The location is about a block away from union square.
The mattress was terrible. Think of this place as basically a dorm room type situation. The hallways and lobby are not somewhere to meet a client or feel like you can breath safely. Carpet needs to be replaced, the walls are opened up with exposed wires and pipes running through them. I literally felt like I was in a crack den.
This hotel was dirty and uncomfortable. We decided not to stay a second night and the clerk refused to refund us. Worst service I've experienced. Worst hotel I've ever stayed at.
the room very modern and very comfortable bed
Construction going on
Nothing. Checked out after 1 night
Upon arival we were great ed by an incredibly rude front desk person. Which after driving 7hrs and being 10pm was not a great start. Quickly upon arival we discovered instead of a hotel this was more of a hostel with alot of what looked to be live in residents. The place was under "renovation" god only knows how long this has been going on, holes in the walls from punches and cables hanging out etc. The room, we booked a twin room, which turned out to be a bunk bed. With horribly small mattress, old linen complete with a sleeping bag outspread as a duvet/sooner (real hotel type stuff) The bathrooms were shared which is fine, however to work the shower you need to be a rocket scientist and the toilet is disgusting. The walls were paper thin and the noise from outside was ridiculous, the heat of the room was also beyond a joke And discovering fleas was also a good gift. We were booked for 5nights checked out after the 1st and never looked back. DO NOT STAY HERE
We didn't stay at the Post. It was too dirty. There were homeless people camping in the lobby. There was mold everywhere and construction materials throughout. Holes in the floorboards, ceilings and walls. Elevator didn't work. The place looks like a demolition team was practicing and failed to finish the job. Zero score out of ten. The place should be condemned.
The location of the Post Hotel is convenient for shopping, food and night life. There is a parking garage on the same block, so parking was convenient. Once parked you are close to union square and market street.
I don't typically leave many bad reviews, however I was shocked that this hotel is allowed to rent their rooms in it's current condition. UNDER CONSTRUCTION. Every hallway had exposed wiring and plumbing, the stairs and hallways looked like they had been covered in plastic for months. Even most of the ceiling in the hallways had sheet rock cut away. Not worth the money
The best part of one over priced over night stay was the staff. They seemed were willing to help answer any questions we had in regarding the area around us the convenience of checking in and out.
Shared bathrooms shouldn't exist in any Hotel/Motel. Period.
Before staying at the Post Hotel it's important to understand two things. It's currently undergoing renovations and it's an old building from a time when an ensuite bathroom was a luxury. So, when you get there, the hallways are going to be covered in plastic and the hallway walls will probably still be pretty torn up as they replace the electrical wiring. You'll also most likely have to don a robe or pajamas to get a few feet down the hall to a bathroom. Your room, on the other hand, will be a wonderful little reprieve. They're cute little arrangements with a fridge and a sink. The sink really helps make the shared bathrooms bearable as you don't have to wait to attend to your toiletries. You'll also most likely have a nice little view of Post street to wake up to. Their single queen rooms have a desk which is nice if you have business to take care of. The location is great. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Lastly, the rates are unheard of in downtown San Francisco. Their rates are even lower than area hostels for a similar private room. So, if you're looking for a clean place to lay your head, the Post is a really good option.
Bed was squeaky and uncomfortable Halls were sketchy Woke up to the noise of building construction Shower and restroom were nasty
Location was excellent - everything on your doorstep. Rooms were nice, with warm lighting and a television. Staff were approachable enough.
Renovations being done on all floors - it is covered in plastic so as not to leave stains on the carpet but leaves a dusty floor to walk to and from the bathroom. Being winter, I did not expect to need my thongs on the trip. Walls are punched in. This hotel needs to be very careful because I believe it is a breeding ground for mesothelioma. No running water for about an hour with no communication from staff.
Good rooms, clean and new Workers were friendly and helpful Very good position
Common areas in refurbishment, so a bit of a mess Hotel staff quite "cold" no parking facilities, neither suggestions on parking facilities
I stayed at the Post Hotel after trying to find accommodation during a peak conference time in San Fran (mid-January). The location was excellent if you need to be near Union Square and the major hotels for conferences. Staff were good. I had a room with no bathroom so had to use the shared bathrooms which I wasn't enthusiastic about, but there were plenty of showers and toilets and they were very clean. Hotel was quiet.
They gave me a room upgrade and free breakfast.
The ongoing repairs and the dirt they produced were everywhere.
proximity to union square price
wifi did not work well at all which is really frustrating for a business traveller
The room was large and included a sink, small refrigerator, and a flat screen TV with cable. My room had a window that opened up to Post street. The Muni bus stops right in front of the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The mattress or maybe the box springs were sagging and well worn. The hotel is being remodeled and can be a problem. The toilets are in small rooms separate from the showers.
Wires hanging out of ceiling and Big holes in the walls!
Location was great.
Room said it was a deluxe king room, but it was just a small room with a king size bed....it was cramped. No fridge and no microwave. Finding a reasonably priced parking place is hard.
i love this place, deluxe rooms are neat and comfortable, staff is nice and very helpful, location ideal for walking to Union Square, beds are good, tv has a lot of channels
saw one spiderlike but grosser bug running in the room floor
