Score from 2057 reviews Good
Featuring two restaurants and a modern fitness center, this San Francisco hotel is just a 2-minute walk from Union Square and cable car lines. All rooms have free Wi-Fi and custom amenities.
Score from 627 reviews Very good
The hotel is located in the centre of the city which is great. the hotel was two mins walk from Union Square so for all people who are looking for a place to stay while shopping this hotel is ideal.
No parking facilities and the costs for parking in the area are very high. The cost for the Club level suites are over priced and I would not stay in those rooms again.
Service by the staff at the Prescott was beyond excellent: friendly, welcoming, and down to earth. Nicest staff ever!
The Staff was very service minded
Old carpets, old wallpaper, the whole
Hotel smelled like a stable Furniture needs to be replaced Rooms are too small Hotel needs a major retrofit Photos are not current as this place is really run-down Not worth paying the extra $$ for premium as the breakfast and happy hour is very basic Elevators felt like they were going to quit at any moment
The concierge service was excellent!
Location Club level rooms Cocktail hour Decor (room & lobby)
Loud air conditioner
Valet, bell staff- lovely.
Just about everything else. Unprofessional front desk, shabby dirty dark rooms. Motel furniture. Broken drain. Unresponsive even though we were there almost a week. Finally received one call from manager well after I was home. I was headed into an appointment and couldn't take the call. He never called back. A truly disappointing Kimpton experience.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! The hotel is in a charming old building with a beautiful sense of history. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed - most importantly: control of the thermostat, a comfortable bed, a nice shower.
Some things in the building and the room were showing some wear and tear.
Friendly and helpful staff Centrally located
Convenient location for city centre
Wi Fi only if you pay - should be free at this price level. Rooms looking slightly past their prime. Noisy air con in our room.
The atmosphere and location at the golf club, wine club etc
The Check-in, could have been more personal and welcoming, I compare with Four Seasons next door.
Tiny Rooms & Old Hotel
Close. To everthing so convenient!
I have stayed at many Kimpton Hotels. This is, by far the worst. Was very disappointed. Old, dark, looked like a Holiday Inn without updates. Stay at a different Kimpton in SF. There are better choices.
The location was central to tour busses and shops.
The whole facility was very dated and smelt and felt old and in desperate need of a revamp. No free WiFi or free coffee facility in the rooms (4 stars!!!). We had a 'large family room' with two double beds, but the room had no room to swing a cat if you know what I mean! We stayed 3 nights and with parking cost over 1100 dollars and it was not worth half that. Very very disappointed and cannot understand how this hotel has ranked so high.
Club level open bar with one of the best service staff! Shopping is right around the corner. And a couple doors down to the left is a breakfast spot called Honey Honey that is so delicious!
Had to call the front desk because the AC was so weak we thought it was broken. But we spent more time out so it was no biggie!
The bed was really comfortable and the towels were great! The concierge was very helpful
The hotel is old and you could hear people walking around above you. Also the A/C in the room was dripping and you could hear it.
Location - close to shopping, restaurants, transportation to wharf. Happy hour! Cookies and apps. Attitude of the staff. Reasonably priced for the area.
Room service from the Postrio.
I've been given a very small room at the very end of the corridor. The hotel needs updating.
Excellent location, can't be beat.
Expensive, and building a little old. No fitness facilities.
Location, the evening drinks and the breakfast. It was also very amusing to see another guest appear for breakfast in one of the leopard print dressing gowns.
The toilet in the room was blocked. When I reported this the response was immediate and it was fixed
Great location in union square, great shopping
I suppose the hotel lobby was alright? The rooms were clean.
- Parking in the valet spot, we were accosted by a homeless man as we unloaded our bags ourselves - the doorman was nowhere to be seen. - The "Club Level" is a neighboring hotel they bought, connected with a skybridge. We had to take two elevators to get to the closet-like room. - The rooms were lit with headache-inducing cold halogen. It felt like staying in a Walmart. - When I asked the doorman about nightlife, the only suggestion given was a seedy hipster bar on the corner. We just bought some wine at the store instead. - The bed was rocky, and the pillows appeared well-worn and flat. - The Wi-Fi was locked for guests, unless you sign up for Kimpton's mailing list or pay $13. I usually love Kimpton hotels, but I will not stay there again.
Great location and price
Location and accommodating staff
Loud humming noise in first room although was relocated, aging furniture, no HBO or premium channels. Not the quality you expect from a Kimpton property.
