Hotel layout and charm
A little far to walk to downtown. But we did anyway!
The breakfast was wonderful!
The atmosphere was relaxing. The room was clean as well as the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer. Staff was very helpful with directions and where to eat downtown.
I guess the price per night. I would have stayed an extra night if it was a little cheaper.
Location, ambiance Staff
Breakfast starts a little late at 8.30
We were upgraded on arrival that was a lovely surprise, the staff were all lovely and helpful, the hotel stands on a quiet street but can walk to centre easy, the hotel is lovely, beautiful decor old wood floors lovely seating areas, lovely room, the evening wine and cheeses was lovely in the beautiful sitting room with fire on, we loved it, lovely bed slept well so quiet.
Lovely room, helpful staff, walking distance to excellent King James Pub
The hotel was located in a nice residential location in Asheville, near the Grove Park Inn. Jenny, the staff member was very friendly and helpful. The decor was period appropriate to 1920's. The breakfast was out of this world!
The evening snacks and wine were awesome. High end wines and upscale snacks, with beautiful presentation.
The staff played very loud music in the kitchen, late into the night. We could hear the Music everywhere, including in the lounge and up in our bedrooms (2nd and 3rd floors) we had to use the back room in the lounge and close the French doors and we could still hear it. Also it wasn't clear that there was recycling, so we brought all our recycling back to Atlanta with us. Jenny was/is awesome, and the breakfasts were outstanding.
Had a wonderful 2 night stay new year's.The building reminded me of both my grandparent's houses.Loved the creaky wood floors.
Quiet neighborhood, friendly staff, the cool elevator, historic and beautiful older building. Delicious breakfast with a sweet or savory choice cooked to order
Sorry but the mattress could have been better, I tended to roll into the middle.
Quiet and relaxing was what we wanted for our trip to Asheville. This hotel did not disappoint in any way. We will definitely visit again.
Desk and breakfast staff, breakfast options and happy hour wines and appetizers, arrangement of suite, parking
Location, very helpful staff & great breakfast
Bed was queen, not the best comfort
Great hotel, would certainly recommend to friends/family.
We like almost everything about the Princess Anne Hotel and its staff. The room we had was spacious, comfortable and romantic. The breakfasts were served in a beautiful dining room with morning light streaming in and a hint of a view to downtown. The hotel is situated in an older neighborhood so it is quiet at night, yet close enough to downtown Asheville that a short walk is all thats needed to be where the action is. The staff is knowledgable, friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.
Not much to dislike. The only problem we had was the placement of a shower handle that got your arm wet while turning it on. This is not even worth mentioning really.
The staff was very fríendly and welcoming. They were very helpful with tips and recomendations. We would definetely stay there again.
Both the young ladies at the front deck were extremely helpful and offered great tips about local places to see.
Perfect location, wonderful staff and food
Not a thing to find at fault.
Charm of the building
Squeaky floors, but I guess those come with the charm!
Great location in-town. Very close to downtown scene. Easy access to highway, but located in a quiet downtown neighborhood location. Well maintained, old hotel. The rooms were very clean. The staff were friendly. The cooked breakfasts every morning in their dining room were outstanding.
Outdoor landscaping lights shining up on the side of the building were sneaking light through the window shades up onto the room ceiling. No other negatives. Nitpicking here.
Overall elegant and historic ambience, friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfasts, wine and appetizers in the evenings, lovely veranda and circular stairs, charming spaces and atmosphere.
Safety issues in bathroom. No handrails by tub. Slippery arable floor with no non- skid rug
Noise in room above and in kitchen below
The restored semi-Victorian hotel atmosphere with feel of a bed and breakfast. The cook to order breakfast. The wine and snacks in the afternoon. You feel as if you stepped back in time.
The tub/shower combo is as close to a complaint we would have.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was served too late. Should start at 0730 instead of 0840.
