Nice room, once it warmed up.
Food mediocre in restaurant. Continental breakfast laughable.
Cold room upon arrival no hot water had to move to another room which was colder than the first
We were in the upper motel rooms with great views, large room, bathroom is a bit small, and slider to outdoor balcony. Morning sweets were fresh baked out of the oven, lunch was memorable, and dinner was fabulous. The staff is superior!!!
No coffee machine, no refrigerator, no microwave, and one bedspread was badly soiled. Carpet could use a deep steam clean, outside stair and walkway carpet is rather ripped and torn in desperate need of replacing ~ not a good first impression
Very quaint New England charm!!
Great atmosphere in the dining room
I was unable to connect to the internet.
The front of the room, ( by the door ) was COLD and therefore made the bathroom cold. The bathroom was very cold. We did not shower our third day because we could not brave the cold
Thanksgiving Dinner was great !!
The historic nature of the inn and the location. The food was also very good.
We stayed in The motor lodge behind the main inn. It worked well for our family of 4, but it lacked the charm of the main inn. Very 1960's/'70s atmosphere.
Friendly staff, nice location
The country lodge is nothing special.
Poor lighting when checking into room and distance from restaurant difficult to find in the dark.
Charming location and the food at the Inn was incredible. Great sense of history and close the OSV.
Unless you stay in the old Inn itself, the rooms are 1970's motel rooms. They are clean and comfortable but do suffer from some age. Things like inconsistent hot water, limited electrical outlets.
Location, Location, Location
King room had the second bed removed with the headboard left in place and the one bed awkwardly at one end of the room.
It was clean, quiet and there was a dining room at the site with a wonderful bakery so we could stock up on special snacks to take trekking. The staff were very nice from desk to dining room and in the bakery and very tolerant of the nine year old.
The food was nothing special for such a widely known venue and with public function rooms, dining room and "tavern" it is odd that the kitchen does not seem to function betwen about 11am and whenever they serve lunch. Our nine year old liked the menu a lot, 'nugh said.
Easy access from major highways. Staff were helpful and agreeable. Setting in autumn month lovely for foliage. Baked goods and coffee were provided, yummy.
The decor needs major update. Colonial is fine, but this is dark & dismal. All woodwork could be painted, chipped. Plumbing was loud and finicky.
Staff was very friendly and attentive...food was very good in the restaurant and the bake shop was excellent....the room was very clean
The room was very small, only one chair and no room to move around.
nice place to stop on a trip
food - servings enormous but bland
clean, friendly, food was excellant
need coffee in rooms
Excellent restaurant. Large room
Lots of stairs.
Restaurant was pretty decent for a motel/hotel.
Our room was aged...something out of 1970's. Needs a refresh.
We have often stayed in the Country Motor Lodge and enjoyed our stays. The setting is lovely and we like the proximity to OSV. The restaurant facilities are also excellent. We received quick service to correct a malfunction in the bathroom with just a phone call to customer service.
The weekend of our last stay was very busy at the Inn with numerous weddings and other parties. Unfortunately both nights that we stayed there were very loud groups of people in the parking lot outside of the building in the middle of the night.
The staff tried really hard and were very helpful and friendly
The inaccessibility of almost everything, the horrible building our room was in, the condom in my parking space, the outdated everything.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
There was no coffee pot available in the room which was a major drawback for us. We had to go out and buy one. The hairdryer was not attached to the wall so when you used it the whole thing dangled. Lighting was dim. Something in the shower was smelly.
Beautiful Connecticut getaway! Child friendly and a peaceful place to be.
room not ready, sink needed service room dirty' needed paint, simply no need for the condition it was in.rug was filthy
We were driving from NY City to Maine and wanted to stop along the way. We chose Sturbridge, MA, because it was convenient, but the Publick House was so welcoming and comfortable we stopped again on the way home. The staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant. We stayed in the old part of the inn with its antique furniture and wavy floors, and felt like we were in an English country inn. The food in Ebenezer's Tavern was nothing special, but just fine.
