Close to town,stores
Comfortable bed,and quiet room, except when trains come through. Small refrigerator worked great.
Train noise 'requires' ear plugs...but then not too bad. Bathroom sink did not drain...for hours. Dim interior, and questionable electrical safety.
The bed was very comfortable. The room was kept pretty clean. The owners were accommodating. Price was fair.
Situated next to a railroad track. Room was crammed with old unnecessary furniture.
They do a nice job of making the best of this aged property. The room was fairly clean and the area is very quiet.
A few easy things to make a big difference - redo the grout in the bathroom, little things like that would make it better.
the train, had to ask for shampoo, too few towels
Owners and staff were great. Comfortable bed.
Could have been a little cleaner. Dust and vacuum.
Everything else. Location was remote No stores within easy walking distance Room was not clean (slept with shoes on) It was gross Bed was uncomfortable Silverfish.. need I say more.
Near busy rail line.
Room was run-down. Restaurant recommended down the street was one of the worst I've ever eaten in.
Rooms were too small, and in poor level of repair, right next to a railroad that kept awakening us all night. No shampoo and pieces of soap almost too small to use in the shower
The bed was comfortable, and although the place in general is a bit shabby, it was clean.
We love hitting the old parts of towns that we visit and this is a great old motel that, it appears, is being updated by new owners. They have great new, confortable beds, and new flat screen TV's. They have a great deal of work to do, but we enjoyed our stay and the coffee the next morning was great. If you need all the amenities of a fancy new motel, this is not for you, but if you want a reasonably priced motel and nothing fancy, this IS for you. Hopefully they get more help so everything feels clean even if it is old. Would be interested to see what this motel is like in a year or so, however, it is not in an area where we will be traveling at that time. Did love the squirrels that entertained us in the evening.
Had to close the windows to shut out the surrounding sounds which the owners can not do much about. The air conditioning made sleep good, but I do love the fresh air especially when it does rain as it did while we were there.
Bed was very comfortable. Nice TV.
No in room coffee, parking was a little cramped.
The rooms were very clean, linens and bath towels were very clean and fresh smelling. Over all it was worth the money. If your just looking for a quick stop over.
Rooms were very dated and oddly laid out. Directly across from train crossing so it was quite noisy.
Beds were comfortable, rooms were, for the most part, clean
Not much hot water for showers, faucet in the main area leaked all over the floor/side cabinet. The place is very old and run down; the arm of the chair pulled off, there was only one plug with a huge plug adapter so you could plug in about 6 things in one outlet, kind of a hokey cooking burner that looked like it came from an RV. The mini fridge had a nasty smell....and for some reason, the freezer section was taped to the refrigerator section so you had to open both of them.
Comfortable bed! Weird, amusing and charming decor. Seemed very clean.
This motel is situated between two train tracks. Several times during the night, freight trains came by, blasting their horns. I did fine with the AC, a noise machine, and my noise-cancelling earbuds. My boyfriend was also OK with his earplugs. It could have easily been a sleepless night.
Furnishings were comfortable, but showing light to moderate wear. Bed was comfortable. Linens and towels very clean, in great condition. Bathroom very clean. Flat screen TV was adequate, kitchenette with fridge & 2 burner cooktop was a nice convenience.
Furnishings were mismatched though adequate. Carpet wasn't obviously dirty but walking on the carpet from the shower with wet feet left clean feet dirty. Wi-fi password didn't work so I couldn't access the wi-fi. Property location poor, next to heavy use railroad tracks. Evening & overnight rail traffic during our stay was moderate with at least 6 trains passing using crossing horns between 10 pm & 2 am.
I was greeted by my name when I walked in to the office. As I have never been here before that made me feel that I was inportant.
As with the reviews I read the trains all night will try to keep you from sleeping.
good price.easy to find from interstate.Realy like the kitchen-net.Had good hot water for showers.
heating for room needs to be improved.
bed was comfprtable
the blinds in the bathroom were filthy, the rest was clean. the motel is right in front of the train track and kept us awake all night. they blew the whistle all the way through that location. the arm of my chair kept falling off. the whole place needs some upgrading
pet friendly looks as though it is being refurbished needed some finishing around bathroom window hope they continue upgrading. beds very comfortable
A coffee pot in the rooms would be nice
The mattresses appear to be brand new and the beds were very comfortable. The room was clean. If I needed something in my room, I went to the office and they gave it to me. The office managers/owners were extremely nice and honest. I would stay here again!
I would like a pot of hot water in the office for the hot chocolate and tea they have there. The office staff offered to microwave some hot water, but that is not as easy to ask for - it would be nice if it was just there. Perhaps they don't get much call for hot chocolate or tea?
It's old, but clean & owner very efficient & friendly. Good value for the money, I'll stay there again sometime.
Some might not like the trains nearby, but not me. I love trains! In La Grande, you're going to have trains, get over it.
